as an former owne ( my ratties passed of old age ) I reconmend you get you a Rat Terrier they are the true Rattiers I just rescued a rat/wire hair terrier I estimate him to be about 8 or 9 months after I get him trained to mind my commands I will take him to the barns to start his hunting process Ratties are very Fast

Should have praised General when he was shaking the 1st rat. Make it exciting. Try using dead rat, or rat pelt for tug of war with General, to encourage biting targets.

My eight month old rescue mixed breed is a Yorkshire terrier cross patterdale and with us living on farm she is awesome one of the best ratters we have unfortunately her prey drive means she is a working dog and not a pet and borderline dangerous to people with her snappy attitude she's a yard dog with as little handling as possible . I think a dog is either a working dog with prey drive or a pet you can't mix the two. A lot of people want to try hunting with their pet but if the dog has what it takes then they need to be treated with caution and not kept in the house as a pet

When I loaded the a video of training my coon dogs introducing a coon I had so many bleeding hearts whining about it. Got reported and given a strike. I appealed the strike because I was showing the prey drive and aggressive hunting instinct of Mountain Curs because people are getting these dogs that are rare in the majority of the country and are clueless to what they are capable of. Awesome video of Jack doing what they’re bred for

This entire earth is on fire. I have JRTs that have an almost insatiable desire to be a lady’s dog. IMO what you are doing is animal cruelty. Hunting is one thing but to encourage the ‘kill the prey’ mentality, there is always the possibility that the training can backfire costing you money and possibly ending a life. It’s your business but I will never train any dog in this way.

You need to hype them up a bit by waving the rat in front of them to get them interested and then praise them loads especially Hera as she was the first to pay any interest from the start and then kill the first one. Hera looks like she’s gonna be lean and really athletic with great structure,she’s one of my favourites.All your bullies are really well built and good proportions unlike a lot of these sloppy bullies I see on other channels.

My inlaws have a jack russell that goes after black bears. Shes fearless.

Tie a dead rat on a string and make the puppy chase it by wiggling it in front of the puppy. Then, when the puppy is used to chasing dead rats on a string, introduce these live bait rats in this enclosure.

None of those dogs have real prey drive. Super high thresholds. I enjoy the channel but very confused with the General. What kennel did he come from?

I know it's what thier bred for but can jack russels or other dogs catch any diseases from wild rats?

My JRT don't have any training. She kills snakes, and rats. Amazing dog, a tough one.

That man Trev got hops 😮‍💨 Tractor Supply has a 6 by 5 by 10 kennel that can be expanded. Plus it has a door so Trev ain’t gotta hop & Jamal ain’t gotta break his back pickin up Apache 😊 you should be able to reuse you chicken wire, wrap it round the kennel top to bottom. You’ll see a difference in Apache interest since she’ll have more space & you can use it for The General when he’s ready for the next stage. I’m excited for Hera 🥰 most people don’t show case a bad a$$ female, it’s always the males but lil momma gonna be a beast. Everything about her screams working dog, even down to her structure. You can tell she’s gonna have that lean but muscular frame that’s agile for working. She’s something special

You don’t like your dogs being needy and obsessed with you? You should’ve done your research for the sake of The General because Jacks are loyal, lap dogs who don’t like NOT being around their owner. Have a jack russell she love every human and most dogs for play but love to kill anything else tont matter if rat or gose.

My mother had a jack Russell named sisqo. And sisqo loved to jump over her patio balcony. Which was on the first floor, and about four to five feet from the ground.

You need to teach them young these dogs don't know nothing about hunting I have dogs in my ranch that would tear up anything on command but they are very obedient and only attack when told they sometimes jump the fence to hunt I don't like them to but they did grow in the wild so it's natural for them
