Congratulations Ireland ! You deserved to win today. You also deserve a big thank you for touring our country at the end of your season, and entertaining us with your intelligent, skilful, creative but hard rugby. Travel home safely !!! 🇿🇦 ❤️ ☘️ 🇮🇪

A draw is a huge LOSS, make no mistake. 3 basic errors in last 8 minutes. Kicking the ball away, van Staaden dropped ball in tackle and grubber that we took into touch tnat was going out. Time for a new captain. If this was corporate SA the share price would drop 5%

@@robertdavidson6354 you're double world up winners....what more do you want...and Ireland are just as impressive if not better than south Africa...all they're missing is a world cup medal...but the whole world has eyes...and Ireland are officially at the top table...can they stay there like the all blacks...time will tell...and south Africa will more than likely loose one match in the rugby championship which I'm sorry to say will put Ireland on top of world rankings before not too long...

Why shock loss? As a South African I must say the headline is insulting to a great Irish team. We always knew it was going to be close. 1-1 is a fair result of a fantastic series between the top two teams in the world.

Yes I was also pondering the headline - a shock to whom ? Very tight at the top between 1 and 4 in the rankings, and last weeks win was 7 points at altitude. Maybe the shock is that the Boks were winning at 79 minutes and didnt win the game. But hey, that same man Frawley hit a drop from same place in the pitch to win the Champions Cup final, and he missed by half a meter. I am happy for him that he has banished any nightmares about that miss tonight. Anyways I digress - it is no shock to me that we managed to win 1 of the 2 tests. The series lived up to its billing, 2 absolutely gruelling tests, defensive masterclasses by both sides, and each team prevailing in one test where they played with just a bit more cohesion than the opposition. And so the story continues .......

GREAT WIN IRELAND
Best team won. If the final drop kick had been reversed, the victory would have been hollow. While I have huge respect for the man, I think Rassie got it wrong here - both in terms of selection and tactics. Malherbe was not his dominant old self, Roos would have been a better starter with Kwagga on the bench, and Edwill needs to be in the team. Apart from the perfect kicking performance, Manie (or Sasha) would have been a better selection at 10 than Pollard. The box-kicking obviously did not work, but the Boks persisted in handing over possession.
Why is it a shock?? Ireland and south Africa are very evenly matched...

Damn you can see the disappointment on Rassie's face before the interview and Rassie did not do Sasha any justice. The only time that SA made any progress was when Grant and Sasha came onto the field... Keeping this in mind.. Sasha needed to leave that last ball in order for us to get the line-out, even though it was a real scramble towards the end.
Apart from our history with NZ, it feels like Ireland is becoming the main nemesis. Maybe NZ feels the same after the last few close matches with Ireland.
Boks all class in defeat..Great great series pity no 3rd game..
It's not a shock for the Irish. The high altitude of Pretoria will always give South Africa an unfair advantage. Play Ireland on lower ground anywhere in the world and Ireland will have an equal chance of winning. That's 4 wins out of the last 5 matches, and 4/4 not counting high altitude

half of SA's topography is at sea level @charliebannon5489 ,.Aside for maybe 3 players , everybody had to adjust to the altitude last week .
