    Zion was well on his way. Year 2 Zion was incredible. But then the injuries and weight problems took hold. And he has quietly had a pretty great season this year with 70 games played. We will see if Wemby keeps it up.

    The MVP is a high expectation, that doesn't only depend on Wemby taking more huge strides forward individually next season, but also his team taking even bigger strides. I'd say expecting him to win the MVP is a too high of an expectation for his second season, but it's possible.

    Just to be fair I live in San Antonio and I know for a fact through the local media that Victor Wembanyama has had Tim Duncan, David Robinson, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker when he is in town all showing up to "The Rock" to help mentor him. So you know he is good hands with the Spurs.

Wemby's growth would have been hurt anywhere other then San Antonio. And that's the genius of POP is he tries different things and doesn't just settle.

    Blocks are harder to come by now. Shaq's rookie year his 3.5 blocks was a 3 way tie for 2nd place. Robinson averaged near 4 bpg in his rookie year and finished third. Wemby is a full third above 2nd place in BPG. That's never been done in any stat category I could find in NBA history and he's on restricted minutes! Is that not Defensive Player of the Year?!

    So far he’s lived up to the hype and maybe even surpassed it to a degree, because he’s so good on defense already damn near best in the league. You can already see him getting better and more comfortable on offense each game, PLUS he’s looking like a decent facilitator.

    Viewership has statistically not been the same ever since the lockout 2011-12 season... Which is even crazier knowing social media took off during those times. Also, games were broadcasted more on ABC/NBC/TNT. (2015-16 season is the one exception which barely peaked over the past years)

    The turnover numbers don't really bother me. All young players struggle with turning the ball over. If that continues into his 3rd and 4th year, then we can hold that against him. I also think the turnovers will go down when he plays with better players.

    @@penkima4923 Sure but playing the french league isn't playing in a top team in Euroleague. Without him, MET92 were weak. Before that he didn't play a lot in ASVEL when he was 17. Playing 35 minutes in a good college team is better than 10 mpg in french league. He had only one real season.
