You can recognize this song amidst its different versions, showing that it did have some structure to it, VU invented their own way of playing music.

This version actually sounds more structured and cohesive than the Banana one.

Kat Karsecs i bought the 45th anniversary edition, and includes another cd with the demo versions of the songs and some rehearsals. It contains the best version of european son in my opinion. I fully recomend it

The thing I like about the album version is that over the course of the song they're actually deconstructing rock. They start with a nice song with conventional lyrics, a strong rhythm line, and such, until they signal the end of it with the shattered glass moment. After that, they're peeling back a piece at a time and turning it into noise rock. As such, it's a very intentional piece of work, with exactly the structure they wanted for it.

@@TessaMNorris I heard once that Lou had this system of setting up about amps in a circle around the room, so he could get the best coordinated feedback for that song - there was a video on KZread of someone demonstrating it once, I think it got taken down - I think he did something similar for Metal Machine Music.

Just the bassline should be puplished, as a 15-min track. I'd dig it!

Not pure noise that would be Merzbow. This is a sort of melodic noise.

Lol this is actually much closer sounding to classic blues than anything go listen to some merzbow now that’s pure noise lol Plus you have to take into account that it’s a live recording from 1966z

@@preheatedmusic3179 Well, Velvet Underground is merzbow great-great-grandparents, so that's right. However, I do not know how stupid you have to be to compare them directly
