*RARE* Train Vs Car in La Grange, KY

Just a normal day of trains on CSX LCL Sub, or so it was watch this guy get clipped by the train as he tries to park on the side of the road, from the looks of it you can see he is kind of forced into the parking lot as the train is already over the next intersection
Wasn't very lucky this time, at least it wasn't La Plata though or he probably wouldn't be here now

    @@sapphirelane1714 That's not true. Cars are built to travel over rough surfaces which cause vibration. If a car stalls on the tracks, it's because it's in too low of a gear, a problem that only affects sticks.

    Railroad was built in 1869, town founded in 1840. Of course, people were a tad smarter back then. It’s a lovely town, great businesses and friendly folk, but Louisville’s sprawl brings people as dumb as a sack of rocks.

    ​@@jaysmith1408 No one in that state is intelligent. Statistically speaking, one in five people in Kentucky is functionally illiterate, with the highest rates being in small towns like La Grange. I lived in Frankfort for over a decade and I couldn't wait to escape. I swear half the people I met there had some form of mental retardation. Most of them were nice, but nice doesn't make up for stupid.

    Somebody school me, why isn't it a standing rule for the train come into this section at restricted speed? It looks like this person could have moved but I could think of a lot of others where things would happen where something can't move such as a broken down car.

    That train IS going slow and blowing its horn. These are standing rules and the train is obeying them. What is your idea of “restricted speed?” If you watch again you will see the small silver SUV (Honda CRV) turn left off the main road, drive straight at the train and stop. Nothing else went wrong, just the stupid driver.

What does the timetable say for this area? I'm not saying the driver bears no responsibility, clearly they could have escaped easily. But they did not and it could have caused injury to a bystander as well as the driver.
