Just got one at work almost thought it was fake, but see the fibers in the paper. One I got is 1985 in great condition.

I feel it is easier to find older bills in the east than in the U.S. I feel a lot of people who traveled in those days just held on to the us bills also currency exchanges prob have a few. It is so cool to think that there is a chance that a stack of mint bills is chilling in a closet in Germany or wherever. Good finds!

I have a 90s series in really good condition minus a center fold. I was wondering if any value was added if the back of the bill bled through to tue front? Seems like it might be a common thing since all the ones in the video seem to have some bleed through as well. Any info you could share?

1993 notes were actually printed in 1994

So where i live (Australia) i like to collect us currency. So when ever i go to the exchange shop I always get all the rare, old and fancy serial number notes since not a lot of people collect us notes where i live.

Cool bills

These are now beginning to become collectible in all denominations now (except $1 of course) like the $500 and $1,000 have become. Get them now and just sit on them for ten years or so. If nothing else, they can't be tracked like the new bills with the magnetic strip in them.

I have a 1985 50dollar bill but I think it’s fake. I can tell whether money is real or fake. But it’s hard with this, because it’s old. I have had it for almost a year now.

Check the red and blue microfibers on the note and scratch the presidents coat for raised printing. Also there is raised printing on the note as well when you hold it in a certain light you should see the print come bold on the note. My opinion only.

I got one from a client recently and I don’t know how to tell if it’s fake or real !! 1977

Found a small stack in the back of a book along with some hundreds. I gotta go back through them now.

When I moved overseas I was taking money out of the ATM (from USD into EURs) and then depositing them. After moving I was paging through a book and found 750 Euros. It was a big surprise. I checked all my other books (unfortunately no cash). I had put the money in the book with the intention to deposit it and forgot. Check those serial numbers for fancy serial numbers, stars, and mismatching serial numbers. More errors got through back then because most checking was done with the human eye and not computers.

Those are rare I've worked as a cashier and seen those maybe three times and even the newer ones not to many use them and I don't know why

Are those side loaders or top loaders?

I spent most of these $50's because I was seeing them quite regularly. Now I don't see them at all. Maybe that was a mistake but it is hard to make a profit with notes that have such a high denomination. The holders are all side loaders (I believe). I have both, but the majority are side loaders and are from supersafe. I buy from lone-star-coin from Ebay. I got a old 100 dollar bill once. when I got off work i got in line went to the same register and asked for cash back (the old 100 dolor bill) and I'm never spending it

I love the old small face bills. They remind me of my childhood. I am in my 30's. If it is in good condition I would keep it until something better comes around (cool serial number on a small face or a star note, especially a low print run!).

I have a 1950 50$ bill, with an error cut. Has a lot more on the top then the bottom. These bills didn't have "in god we trust" in the back

Yes, the In God We Trust got added in the 60’s. If a section of the other bill can be seen then you have a very rare note. Miscues are also minor error notes. The small face portrait notes are getting rarer by the day and depending on condition I would maybe keep it.

I would keep it simply for the sentimental value. I have never seen one in the wild. With time it will slowly increase in value, but if you are strapped for cash, then I would deposit it. I would dread tot think about the bill going to the shredder.

Isn't that awesome! I moved to a small town (10,000 people) and got all six bank employees looking for me. It cost me a lot of boxes of Sees candy but it paid off. And after a few months it dried up as I think I got all the star notes in town. But it would have taken me years to get the noted that I got from them.

I reiterate time and time again, always get friendly with the tellers at the credit union and banks. Most will hook you up, and don’t collect. I am glad that you have this wild card.

I only have two now. Most are not that special, but I rarely see them in circulation anymore. Millions have been shredded by the Federal Reserve because they lack the security features (watermarks ect) that newer notes have. I love these old notes for the nostalgia. I think about Christmas or Birthdays when these beautiful notes were staring back at me in a card and how happy I was to deposit this for 5% interest at the bank. The good old days. Thanks for stopping by. I might keep your note that you have. Nice to pass down to future generations.

Generally bills with low serial numbers have at least four and many people would say five 0's. A 1963 $50 is rare in and of itself. Depending on condition and if the note is a star note it might be worth even more. A fancy serial number like a binary, or repeater can also increase value. The value for this bill is probably around $70-$75 maybe more depending on condition, serial number, and the district. Tell me the serial number please.
