It would take you 100 episodes to cover even a fraction of our food & culture, given how old our first nations people are, but I'm so grateful for you showing a snippet of it. Aunty was 100% correct about how bad addiction & lower socio-economic status is our biggest killer. Generational trauma (genocide, stolen generation, misplacement, racism, police trauma, health degeneration etc) is unfortunately left untreated and ends in self medication. We weren't built for the modern, colonised life. We were fine for 65,000 years before invasion. Thank you for saying Dampa, and feeling so comfortable in the front seat with unc while hunting. There are currently significant discussions taking place regarding aboriginal rights. These discussions shed considerable light on the matter. What Sony is accomplishing is bestowing upon people a profound sense of identity. As I witnessed you confront the weight of 60,000 years of human history, I couldn't help but be struck by your immense humility. It was as if I witnessed the presence of gods walking among mortals. This is not merely a video about food; it represents a pivotal moment for anyone who watches it. Your work epitomizes the pure essence of art restoration, devoid of any attempt to dictate or embellish. Instead, you simply observe, assuming the role of a cultural observer, a steward of civilization, and a seeker of the forgotten paths of humanity. God Bless You!

The Voice is simply an opportunity for Government's to create a constant 'balance of power' situation and a body that can be bought. The voice is hardly the insight of Aboriginal people, there is around 900,000 Aboriginals in Australia, and they all don't think the same, they will not even be consulted regarding anything 'The Voice' will be handling. The government is just creating a corruptible body (and that isn't because they are Aboriginal before anyone goes nuts, they are corruptible because the body is filled with human beings with power and access to tax money)

Great to see you in Australia 🇦🇺 mate and showing our Indigenous culture
Thank you Sonny and production team..great content , amazing vistas. Exotic food at this moment im overstimulated in a good way..many high moments showcasing the petroglyphs was really special.thanks again..
I eat kangaroo steak often - super good for you and delicious but must be cooked rare. I have it with grilled mushrooms and rocket. Delicious.
Wow Sonny, loving the Aussie content and enjoying your interaction with our wonderful indigenous people. I’m sorry Mark but most Aussies don’t care for the Melbourne scene !!

I love Sydney, Cairns and I live inPerth. Melbourne was too yuppie for me
Two of my absolute favorite food reviewers are Mark Wiens and Sonny Side. Mark recently made a trip to Australia and visited quite a few restaurants, but Sonny, you bring a whole new level of expertise when it comes to food. Bloody brilliant job, mate!

My distant memory reminds me of seeing a program featuring an Australian pub that did slow roasted camel leg, might have been Alice Springs. Always wondered what that would be like. Have had ostrich, emu and kangaroo a number of times here in the UK.
Sherlock! That’s awasome, stayed at that station once and was amazing so glad to see ya in the Pilbara
Thank you sonny and team for showcasing the traditional owners of this land ❤ great first episode lookin forward to watching the rest 👏👏

Awesome to see the real Australians sharing their culture.
A great story about the original Australians, good people, cheers in Oz
Thanks for sharing our first nations peoples foods. Something that is unique!
Awesome. Having lived in remote Australian communities and eating traditional food, I'm going to enjoy this series. I was expecting some ignorant, 'save the kangaroos' comments but I've been pleasantly surprised by Sonny and the team's fan base. I shouldn't have assumed that people who watch this channel might feel weird about roo hunting. Let's see what happens when it comes to turtle.

@@moon-moth1 I would agree. The hunting of turtle and dugong on the East coast of Australia was a contentious issue some years ago. At the time, I lived in Far North Queensland and lived with locals who hunted both animals traditionally. I've had turtle at a ceremony but not dugong. Where I lived, turtle wasn't a regular meal. It was saved for important events. I was given the name 'gnawia' (gnawiya) which means Sea Turtle in the local language because I told an elder I didn't feel right, eating the turtle. She gave me an out for when someone offered it to me again. But hey, the locals could catch Barramundi all year long, so I got to eat good fish whenever the boys came over after a day on the water or at the river.
Sonny, I love you for this one! Australia is an amazing country!
The fact that the video started and I just went, he's in WA near Karratha (which is funny to hear him try and say it), I know that country well!! I'm so happy to see this and can't wait for the rest of the series!!
