RARE Japanese Lighter Restoration - Sarome Blue Bird Rocket Car

Rare lighter restoration of a very cute rocket car lighter from Japan. Today I restore and repair a Japanese Sarome vintage lighter from the sixties. I Will make it fully functional and beautiful again.
This Cigarette lighter is from the late sixties and comes from a Japanese lighter brand named Sarome. It’s modeled after the rocket car from the 60’s who set the world record in ground speed in Bonneville Utah. It’s a cool collector object and you can get this lighter in many different colors and wheel combinations. I got mine from a subscriber from the U.S.
RESTORATION PROCESS
I started by adding WD40 rust remover because I thought I could drag out the lighter insert from the body of the car, but I was wrong. I was built together. After I demounted the lighter, I used my mini tumbler to clean all the small parts. I also used Electrolysis to clean up some minor parts.
I chose to sandblast the whole lighter body and painted it with black and red colors. The lighter did only come with 3 wheels, so I decided to create 4 new Alu wheels.
