Australian and New Zealand soldiers have been in the UK training Ukraine soldiers for some time, but that's rarely mentioned in the press! It's good to see they receive some respect, occasionally! They were among the guard for the King's Coronation! 👍🇦🇺🙋

New Zealand Army Personnel have a Red, White & Black Belt of Maori Design & The Hat worn with # 1 Uniform is a Lemon Squeezer with Red Band. The NZ Uniform is Khaki Green. The Only Regiment to Wear a Beret as Part of their Dress Uniform is The NZ SAS & theirs is Sand Coloured. It's a Nod & Proud Symbol of their Part in the Original SAS in North Africa against Rommel in WW2. NZ Veterans may well have been there, but none of them Would be in Uniform. This Officer, could quite Possibly be from the "Host Regiment" if the Veterans had been Formally invited by the MOD or The British Army. The Timing is unusual for that though, I would've expected an Invitation or Formal Visit to have been closer to 25th April, ANZAC Day. NZ has Fought with Britain as part of the Empire since 1845 as A Dominion during WW2. NZ along with Canada, Australia, South Africa & India & was a Founding Member of The British Commonwealth from 1931 - 1949. In 1949 India declared Independence from Britain & The British Commonwealth was Dissolved & Became The Commonwealth of Nations to Allow India to Remain & The New Republic of Pakistan to withdraw. The only Founding Nations to remain in The Commonwealth of Nations & Recognise the British Monarch as their Head of State are Australia, Canada & NZ. India, Pakistan & South Africa are "Limited Members as to be Full Members the British Monarch must be recognised as the Head of State. As A Kiwi, I'm Proud that our Small Country, with a Population of Just over 5 Million has Stood with Britain in time of War, when Britain Called NZ Answered. Our Association with The British Armed Services has been Built on Mutual Respect & Spilled Blood & We Will Continue to Stand with Britain when she Needs Us.

Good post Vicky. You say at the end that "We Will Continue to Stand with Britain when she Needs Us." I think that whole concept is breaking down down. What 'standing with' means, what 'need' means etc. Quite clearly there are forces working in the other direction. Much love to you and all New Zealanders from Britain.

@@jimmyhillschin9987 Hello Jimmy, Thank you for your Kind Words! I agree with your Comments regarding Standing With in Times of Need. The Britain of today is Far different to the Britain NZ fought with in WW2, but at the end of the Day, the Emotional & Ancestral Links still Remain & we have an allegiance to The Monarch of Great Britain or the UK, whichever you wish to Call it. We are Pretty much as far away from the UK as is possible, but the White People who Settled in NZ in the early 1800's were from England, Scotland & Ireland, so those ties are hard to Forget. Our Country is Bigger than the main Island of the UK, our Population of about 5 Million, is less than a main City. We are far enough away from anywhere to be concerned about Military threat & we retain a Small Defence Force, we do our bit around the World as Peacekeepers & Humanitarian Aid. Realistically, in terms of Standing with Britain, we'd be like the concerned friend, standing behind with a First Aid Kit. We have Troops in Afghanistan, working with the UK Force, we have Men Power & we use it to help, Proudly. Much Love & Respect to our British Cousins From NZ!

You Can't say that, there have been NZers, Aussies & Canadians Serving in the Royal Marines, there still are. They are however, Royal Marines First & Foremost & whatever their Nationality 2nd. This Particular Officer is Not a NZer. Quite Obviously he's Not a NZ Veteran either as he's wearing a Military Uniform, he must be a Serving Officer. The only Uniform NZ Veterans Wear is Generally a Navy Blue Blazer on which their Medals are Displayed & Occasionally their NZRAF/RAF Wings. They wear Dark Berets with sometimes their Old Regiment Badge & Dark Pants. When they Travel as a Group to an Event, they Generally have a Name & Date of the Event Sewn on their Jacket Pockets. They all look the Same & if it is Organised through the NZ Returned Services Association (RSA) they will wear that Badge & A Small Poppy Pin. Those Trips are for Specific Memorial Events.

I beg to Differ, NZ Mounted Troops Fought with Britain in the Boer War, The Crimea War & the First World War. We Fought as part of the British Empire & in British Regiments. We Gave a Generation to Britain in WW1, Sending a Brigade of Infantry & A Brigade of Mounted Troops Totalling 8,500 Immediately War was Declared & a Total of 29,831 Fighting Troops in Total, with a Further 8,000 Trained Drs & Nurses, those Numbers Don't Sound Much, but at the time NZ had a Population of less than 1 Million, including 50,000 Maori that Britain did not want as Fighting Troops. NZ Lost 16,000 Dead & another 10,000 Wounded, many of whom would Die from the Effects of Mustard Gas. You haven't seen Many Kiwis if that Officer (Who's Not a Kiwi) is the Tallest you've ever Seen. As Most of the White Settlers of NZ came From England, Ireland & Scotland, the Population of NZ has the Same Height Characteristics of those Countries Now.

I noticed serving soldiers and retired soldiers in the yard. I'm thinking they are here for a memorial service on horse guards parade ground maybe? One was held recently beginning of May 2024. Ps: I had a bit more of a think the recent memorial service was for the Marines regiment on Horse Guard they shut the gates from the Yard to the Parade ground whilst the service was still on. To many tourists use the tunnel to get to and from Buckingham Palace.

Watch another video without the RM Officer. The parade format is the same. The 2 mounted guys did an eyes left to the Royals Officer who took the parade, not right to the RM Officer!
