Thank you so much for all the tremendous, excellent work you've done with RVG Legacy. It would be an understatement to call it inspiring.

This is precious footage. I am tired of the same old interview, made years later, of Rudy being uploaded over and over. This is from back in the day. I've also never seen a clip of Jimmy Smith talking. The other guy is Creed Taylor (he of the hair parting), so this is a Verve date. Thanks for the upload. Do you have any more of Rudy at work?

Bob James mentioned RVG greatly responsible for that CTI sound, not letting anyone touch anything…btw, this is too funky for ‘65!! ahead of its time. When you dig back, organ led groups were the funkiest pre ‘67, like Booker T & the MG’s…

Unbelievably, the tune here runs with a higher pitch compared to the same recording on vinyl (check kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZKJ7m7mcoKvHZLg.html )

it's totally believable and "normal" phenomen. If the original recording was recorded on a normal movie-camera, it run at 24 picture/second speed -and tha traditional projector-speed in the cinemas was the same -all right. But if the filmmaterial gets in TV-studio enviroment, they have a playback-speed at 25/sec, also a little bit faster. (the difference is small, so we don't realize that evrybody moves faster in the screen...and if they make further copies on other media, this difference will insist). So the soundtrack on it runs also faster, with a result of a highes pitch, a difference is almost a semi-tone higher. If you watch any old film on TV-programm, you can hear this as well.
