Moi like the rough water, look at the size of the tail, they are good fighters...... used to catch moi li at Kailua beach park when I was a kid in the 60's, catch papio in the surf just dragging bamboo poles, used to be so much fun.....

Born and raised on O’ahu. Grew up shore fishing and miss it terribly. I’m in the military now in a land far, far away and only three years until retirement. Can’t wait to come home and spend my days fishing the reefs.

Yessssss..... Its a personal prefernce .... I use a 6' ugly stick pole to shallow bottom and I love it cuz of the bend when a fish bites ... Keep your lines tight and your pole bent !!!

Great show man, I look forward to everyone of your videos. I think you should catch a GT with a plug from your boat. They do it in Australia, seems like it would work in Hawaii. Also I’ve never seen a video fishing for GT in Hawaii with monster plugs. Go for it!

Reel size is a 5k with 30lb braid. Egg lead varies from 1/4-1oz depending on conditions.

Put them in a tide pool until you are done fishing the spot. Once you let one go they scare the pile. 🤙

how did you set up your plugging lure? Did you just tie it straight to your main line? can't tell from the video if you have a split shot or egg lead on your line.

Went from my mainline to a swivel with 2' of leader than to the plug. No idea if its the correct way or what.

Find a nice sandy beach, get.a stick and mono. Hook some kind of bait,, fish,.ima,.talk..poke.the. stick. In the sand, let the bait hang so the waves can hit it.when the waves.go back look.around the bait foe lines, in the sand, scoop net there.

That is a slow retrieve ? lol

The way it was explained to me is all fish have slight traces of sig. You only get sick once the pot boiles over. After you get sick once it takes very little to get you sick again. My good friends wife was sick for almost 1 month. She explained it like the worst food poisoning ever. 🤙
