This video just made me well up with tears. I remember when I was 13 Yr old and my Dad's Mk2 Escort van wouldn't start. He was unemployed and couldn't afford a mechanic so I was only too willing as an enthusiastic kid to dive in and have a go,he was terrified I'd do more damage but nervously let me try under his watchful eye. Together we did what you and Chris did here ( he was just as enthusiastic as Rob was when I got her running) and from then on we always did maintenance to avoid labour costs and my skills developed. It brought back a lot of memories as today would have been his birthday but he's been gone 22 yrs now. Thanks for the memories. 👍

Great vid guys, you both gel together so well! Chris explaining things is a massive plus I think. As for the battery terminal situation, I had the same issue with my series 2 RS Turbo a few years back and what I did was buy the round terminal adaptors from Halfords, allows you to bolt up the original loom terminals onto the round converters to run round terminal batteries. Their is a massive variety of round terminal batteries, sizes, cranking amps etc and the bonus is you dont need to cut or alter your loom at all so reverting back to a square post battery later is simple. Let me know if your interested and I can send pics of mine 👍 their were an 'off the shelf' part in Halfords couple of years ago and were cheap too 👌
