Rare ancient scroll found in Israel Cave of Horror - BBC News

Fragments of a Biblical scroll and other relics have been found in what officials call an "historic discovery" in desert caves in Israel.
The dozens of pieces of parchment were written in Greek, with just the name of God appearing in Hebrew.
The scroll is believed to have belonged to Jewish rebels who fled to the hills following a failed revolt against Roman rule in the 2nd Century.
They were found during an operation to prevent caves in the area being looted.

@C de Fg I have a question. Let's all agree for this that the True Word of God is the King James Bible. It is true and just and the most accurate Bible out there. Tomorrow, the world governments all decree that every single King James bible needs to be torn to shreds. Give it a week and not a single intact King James Bible exists across the entire planet. The only remains are tatters and shreds. After a few generations, the King James Bible, the true word, is forgotten. But, someone manages to save some of those shreds and buries them in a box in the woods. Several centuries pass. Different versions of the Bible have come and gone, but none are remotely close to the King James Bible. Someone finds this box in the woods one day. They dig it up and find fragments and scraps written in an old, outdated form of English. They painstakingly reassemble the remaining scraps - half of them are ruined - but they manage to rediscover a good half of the King James Bible and a good chunk of Word of God within it. Would that Word not be true anymore, just because it's old, tattered, and fragmented like the Dead Sea Scrolls? If they held up those ruined pages of the King James Bible, and they also held up a shiny complete copy of the Year 2400 Queen Katheryn Bible that was fresh off the press, which is closer to God's word?

Nobody is crippling their own economy. Then mask wearing during a global pandemic is just common sense....You don’t want to wear a mask, then shop online. Then there is the fact, that viruses effect everyone differntly...Some people will get a mild illness, some a moderate illness and recover at home. Others will be hospitalised and some will get known complications, such as blood clots, multiple organ failure, respiratory collapse, strokes and heart attacks. You and your friends have inside knowledge of Covid cases, do you? You and your friends are all virologists? No....Then hold your weesht, as we say to B.S artists in Scotland. This earth is soon going to come under the elements, this will prove beyond all doubt that Jesus is the one true God. We are all spirits in a body and by healing the spirit through Jesus, the body is healed. These vaccines are not from God. We are warned in the Bible not to take the Mark, for buying and selling. We soon won't be able to so anything without proof of vaccinations. Be wise and vigilant in these times of tribulation. Blessings

The author who wrote the book, "Portrait of Jenny" made into a movie with Jennifer Jones, also penned "Digging the weans" which Theodore Bikel recorded on vinyl years ago. It is a future interpretation of fragments found in a cave in the far future. It is very fun & very appropriate to this find. There is also Arthur C. Clark's "Childhood's End" where the first 100 pages is a similar interpretation of holy words penned way back when which turns out to be a 20th century grocery shopping list. Amazing to find pieces of something so ancient. They should continue this kind of work rather than making life so hard for Gaza & West Bank.

Although, if you want actual proof of gd existing, I’d just say that the notion that everything on earth is clearly derivative of something else, and both lives and dies, means that everything coming from nothing wouldn’t really make sense.

@@pooppooper9033 You also can't prove leprechauns don't exist, or werewolves or Zeus or Ashera or Isis or Kokopeli or literally an infinite number of other gods. 80% of people believe in gods, by the way. They don't get ridiculed for it. That's Christian Perscution Complex right there. A specific claim might get ridiculed, e.g. Young Earth Creationism, but that's because YEC is as objectively, provably false as a flat Earth. Certain attitudes and practices might get disparaged, like homophobia or purity culture, but that's not the belief in God that's being ridiculed, it's the homophobia, the misogyny of purity culture. etc. I married a Catholic. She baptized our kids and sent them to Catholic school. Your persecution is imaginary. Remember that most atheists are raised in theistic households, and virtually all atheists have loved ones who are theists, often, their entire families.
