Jennie co-wrote the song with Teddy but unfortunately YGE didn’t credit her. She said it herself on the live broadcast but the company didn’t reupload it. The company usually doesn’t give their female artists credit until late into their career. Ps. Jennie also had a hand in the choreography (I recommend you check it out)

Thankfully the times are seemingly getting brighter with the new CEO. The girls have way more input than they used to and are being credited in the music. Rosie is credited multiple times in her two songs. Lisa did the choreo for her solo in The Show and Jisoo wrote the Korean lyrics to her cover of Habits. I know that's not a lot but it's a start.

@@battlingmink467 The girls getting credited is YGE's way of enticing them to renew their contracts with them as well as them having a little bit of artistic freedom. LSG's is not registered at KOMCA which means Jennie and Jisoo's still not getting paid for participating in writing the lyrics of the song and Jennie for participating in producing it. At the end of the day YGE's a shitty company that cannot afford to lose their biggest artists or their value would be less to nothing. Just because they changed their ways now doesn't mean that the new admins good or better. Watch them become shitty again after the girls renew their contracts with them.

Not gonna lie, SOLO is definitely in my TOP 3 of favorite songs from the "Blackpink universe". JENNIE really did her thing on this, no wonder it's aging like fine wine. The lyrics are great, incredible vocals, super dope rap verse, her energy, the outfits, the background, her facial expressions/charisma, etc. Everything tells a great story!

She is one of the best female rapper, versatile, insane, rap machine rapper haha, lead vocalist she has beautiful, angelic strong voice, lead dancer material she has sexy, powerful, swag flexible moves (at first I thought she is main dancer, unfortunetly she injure her ankle during they first debute performance and until then she has problem with her ankle non stop plus she said she has low stamina but she still slay in dance), she is producer, writer, composer, model, trendesster, fashion icon, photographer, fashion editor, youtuber, she is good in everything! Agreed, I discovered him through BLACKPINK reactions but stayed to watch his other reactions because he's so good at reacting and I learn a lot from what he discusses. He also has the ability to catch bars and intentions in a song which out of all reactors I've seen, Knox does best. He's so smart that I think for his caliber, he's quite underrated.

Firstly and most importantly, she got a lot of hate for 'Solo' because Jennie was the first member of BLACKPINK to have a solo song, and although the other members are getting their solos too, people thought that YG was treating Jennie better then the other members by giving her a solo song first. Hence, she started being called "YG's princess" Next, this song was released around the same time as the 'lazy scandal' started in which people started saying they Jennie wasn't dancing with enthusiasm and was being 'lazy' in stage. Lastly, it was released just a few months before the Jennie and Kai dating rumour.

Maybe you can check it out. I also suggest Sure Thing cover by Blackpink. It is the only live performance that showcases their vocals and rap abilities without any choreography to make them sound breathless.
