What's crazy is she's entirely self taught. Started with vocaloid covers at 14, to getting contacted by universal music japan and making her first ever original song as a pro hitting either the 2nd or top spot in japan at 17/18, to being able to work on such a large piece (pun intended) of media, that being one piece at 19. She is a literal prodigy. Edit: got to 21:05 and just wanted to add this. Japan is INCREDIBLY conservative, there's a saying that basically goes "out of all the nails in the wooden board, the one that sticks out the most is bound to be struck by the hammer" (not the actual wording but the basics of it), so if you don't conform to what's normal you're seen as weird or any other negative adjective and are bound to be struck down by society, and this song very obviously talks about not dealing with that bullshit in a very aggressive way.

There are many ways to get others to admit their deviations, but those who do not do so have no future. You all know what it's like to live in a society that lets just deviants go unchecked. A real genius finds that way and does it. As a result, you make people around you happy. No excuse for not being able to do that is valid for truly smart people. They are sympathized and protected. It is nothing but a kind of isolation.

I am Japanese. I'm happy with Ado's reaction. Gira Gira is the Japanese onomatopoeia for "Glitter". And to Japanese ears, it sounds like "GIVE LOVE". Also, the word "mera mera" in the lyrics is an onomatopoeia for the expression "burning" in Japanese. This sounds like "MAKE LOVE" to Japanese ears. The lyrics seem to have a theme of "ugly and unloved", but I think it's a phrase that expresses the feeling of "actually, I want you to love me". p.s. "Kira Kira" and "Gira Gira" are different in nuance. "Kira Kira" is used for sparkling stars or shiny objects. "Gira Gira" is more intense light or heat, like the sun shining on the West Coast or the desert. "Gira Gira" is used when you want to express a stronger and more exaggerated glow. With a slightly negative nuance, "Gira Gira" has a more exaggerated and impactful impression.

gira gira is also an onomatopoeia for glaring. It's the japanese sound affect for glaring at someone with hate/irritation/frustration, etc. But it's usually associated with a glare that gives out a sense of strength in one's expression. So Gira Gira has a double meaning in the song being "to glitter" and "to glare". It goes well with song being about a person who's face is covered in scars and deformity. One who stands tall, lives strong and glitters in the nightlight while glaring back at defiance.

After listening to her for a while, this isn't just that she's talented. It's that she learned all of this shit on her own. This is just pure skill, her range actually isn't that high what we're hearing is her range of skill with her vocals. She knows so many ways to distort her voice which is crazy, and many of them are difficult to the point where it could damage her vocal chords if done incorrectly. It's absolutely insane how much hard work she put in to learn these techniques and she's showed off on her stream too.

Fun fact of the day! :D A lot of Ado's original songs, are composed by different people/group that are part of the vocaloid community! Vocaloid itself is a big part of JP music. They mostly have their own style, hence why even these three songs already felt so different apart. The one who composed Ussewa, Syudou, will also sing one of Chainsaw man ED. Another one to note is Kanaria. They composed Ado's song "Domestic de Violence" and will also make one for chainsaw man ED! You can look forward to it :Di PS. If you like the lyrics, you can check out these producers out. Though you might not like how vocaloid sounds like, their music and lyrics are definitely 💞

Ado is a more a singer that works for hire, meaning she'll sing to many, many different styles. It only denotes her extreme range with all the various genres she's successfully paired with. On a semi-related note, you'd really like the anime Ya Boy Kongming. It shows a bit about the underground clubbing and even rapping scene in Japan. Doesn't have Ado songs but other absolutely great singers contribute. And the OP and ED are so catchy it's impossible not to groove to them. She’s such an incredible singer. So incredible. Unfortunately, Ussewa got into a controversy in Japan because of the song’s meaning. The song is about heavy work ethic, and not wanting to have anything to do with it. To basically tell the life of a worker, and, as I said, not wanting it. "Gira gira" is a kind of Japanese onomatopoeia that means something that shines, but it gives a wilder image than usual. It's like her singing voice. The brilliance of the general and cute image is "kira kira". The lyrics of "Usseewa" are a poignant rejection of some silly habits that young people are forced by outdated bosses, mostly in Japanese companies and closed environments. So this song tends to evoke sympathy among young people and be disliked by middle-aged and older men.

ニコラスさんがAdoの歌を聞いてくれてとても嬉しいです!😆 I am very happy that Nicholas listens to Ado's songs! Adoは当時高校生という異例の若さで『うっせえわ』や『踊』など多くのヒット曲を出し、多くの人々に愛されています! Ado was an unusually young high school student at the time, and he released many hit songs such as "Usseewa" and "Odori" and is loved by many people. 勿論私もAdoの大ファンです😂😂 Of course, I am also a big fan of her.😂😂 ワンピースREDのおかげでAdoの人気が世界中に広まってくれて自分のことのように嬉しいです❤❤ Thanks to ONE PIECE RED, Ado's popularity has spread all over the world, and I'm happy as if it were my own.❤❤ ワンピースREDの曲の中では私は『Tot Musica』が大好きです。 ワンピースアニメのリアクションも楽しみしています‼️ My favorite song from One Piece RED is "Tot Musica". I'm also looking forward to the reactions of the One Piece anime! 話は変わりますが、この間の「アニメOPリアクションNo.8」の文豪ストレイドッグスの1番目のOPの歌手は、進撃の巨人のジャンの声優ですよ!😂😂 On a different note, the singer in the opening OP for Bungo Stray Dogs, the anime OP reaction No.8, is Nicholas' favorite voice actor, Jean from Attack on Titan!😂😂 これからも応援してます💕 I will continue to support you.💕

I think the wonderful thing about Japanese, as well many other languages, is that it is very very expressive. The words they use are complex and can carry a great amount of imagery and emotional weight. Because of this, when you listen to their music, the themes explored can sometimes feel so deep and complex. It's in the structure of the language. This isn't to say that other languages can't achieve this type of imagery. They absolutely can and do; it just takes more words 😅😅.

So glad to see your reaction of ADO’s music! I was blown away when I listened to “Odo” for the first time as well.. I strongly recommend “Backlight” composed & written by Vaundy, from One Piece film Red. It’s an explosion of talents. Promising goosebumps if you listen in the movie theatre. Fun fact, name of ADO refers to a company of protagonist from the Japanese traditional arts called Noh farce, indicating that she wishes to become a supporting role in life of people who listen to her creation. So humble, so Japanese.. ;-)

Ado posts various VOCALOID covers. VOCALOID is a song whose vocal is a machine voice. The person who worked on Ado's songs usually makes VOCALOID songs, and Kenshi Yonezu, who was the OP for Chainsaw Man, used to post VOCALOID songs under the name Hachi. As I mentioned earlier, there are different likes and dislikes for machine voices, but there are many cover videos, so please listen to them.

Ado's done an official piano version of Usseewa that I love a lot and I think you'd be obsessed with too, if you haven't seen it already. ADO's voice is amazing! I am going to watch One Piece Red today some I'm excited for that :D Another music artist I LOVE is YOASOBI. I would highly recommend you listen to YOASOBI. They are a wonderful artist with wonderful songs and only two anime openings somehow. If you ever do react to them they are Beastars OP 2, "Kaibutsu" and Mobile Suit Gundam: The Which From Mercury OP 1, "Shukufuku". YOASOBI also has many other amazing songs such as Racing Into the Night, Encore, Gunjou, Tracing That Dream, and Halzion. Anyways I hope people read this and give YOASOBI a listen, and hopefully you already know them. YOASOBI also does their own English dubs which might not always sound good, but they still match how the Japanese song sounds.
