That Metal Church/ Sir Mix A Lot colab from the late 80s is pretty cringe… the kind you definitely need to hear. I think the closest Hip Hop and Metal ever came to actually being a legit fusion was on the Judgement Night soundtrack. Some of that shit goes pretty hard.

Honestly, I kinda think they would struggle to spot the difference. The kind of person who thinks Phil Collins, Def Leppard, Manowar, Carcass, Slayer, GWAR, Bon Jovi, Bodycount, The Spice Girls, Pantera and Darkthrone all sound the same (Yeh - they're everywhere) isn't going to be able to pick Pumper's stuff out - I could almost think we're actually the *_lucky ones_* because we can discern how terrible it truly is? But also vocals and things like recording and making beats. You kinda inspire me to grab the guitar and keep going even when I have a day where I feel like I’m not progressing and get fed up. Yea man do it. Worst thing that happens is you try and you end up not liking the actual act of playing but you can say you tried. If you don't then you'll never know and if you have the interest to want to try, chances are you will enjoy it if you find a good teacher and you are patient with yourself. Don't expect that by a week after starting you will be able to do just do whatever. Realistic expectations with a good drive and a good teacher/practice routine you can get to a solid level in a years time, maybe a little quicker if you are really on it. It's truly a long game kinda thing. I have been playing for over 25 years and I still learn new stuff and feel like I'm never where I want to be. You can never grow and learn enough and keeping that attitude will make sure you never stop getting better and learning. Now go get that guitar and start on it bro!
