Freddie was a fan of Elvis.. but he (and many 70s-80s rock groups) loved and honored Little Richard too. Tutti-frutti was a Little Richard hit from 1955.. Freddie and gang did it proud in this concert!!

Freddy was made for the stage. The energy it took to sign like that and run across the stage is amazing. What a great band and what a great medley you just have to move.

The band looked like they were having so much fun. I just love these rock and Roll Medlies. This was a medley of some of the greats the band members grew up listening to. Buddy Holly, Ricky Nelson and Little Richard in this set. Spike Edney on piano duty so Freddie could be up front.

The originals of the songs in this medley (Buddy Holly, Ricky Nelson etc) are all familiar to me from my teenage years, as they were to the members of Queen, because we are all the same age and grew up listening to them!

I love this whole medley! You can see how their early musical interests influenced how they layer their voices and harmonies in their songs. I love seeing their personalities and them having fun 💛 John is totally amused by Freddie. This whole concert is great

At the root of all their genius, Queen was a true rock & roll band. They could just totally rock out and turn every performance into a full-blown party. There is only one other band, and one other lead singer, who could do that -- Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. (Anyone who's seen them live can back me up on that.)

I love the Queen medleys, especially this one. Freddie spent his school years in a boarding school in India, where he and some school mates formed a band The Hectics, at his age of 12, towards the end of the 1950 years. He was the only one in the band who actually could play anything on the piano, without music sheets, but by ear after listening these kind of songs (Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Jerry Lewis, Fats Domino, etc.) on the radio. Pls, check out Death On Two Legs the lyric video, you'll love it.

So glad you chose this night at Wembley to react to! They had so much fun together in this medley even quiet and reserved John Deacon was singing and smiling. When Roger Taylor disappears then comes in on his drums it's kicked up a notch. I watch at least parts of the Wembley shows once a week the entire concert is a vibe. I love seeing how close they were together, friends just having fun. 👑 Freddie loved Elvis and formed his first band at boarding school playing Elvis and Chuck Berry songs from that Era.

This was so fun, THANK YOU! The guys always did a “classic rock” medley in their shows, and the songs they decided to do always varied/changed depending on what they “felt like” doing. …My FAVORITE rock medley is the one they did at: Odeon Hammersmith in 1975. (The full thing starts with Freddie singing “Big Spender” in a kimono (a robe), then dropping the robe and going into the rest of the medley in what look like little silk pajamas)😂

You are totally correct that Freddie was a bug Elvis fan. Freddie even wrote 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love' as a tribte after Elvis died. Elvis and Freddie had a similar vocal range & could both sing many genres of song from rock/rock n roll to classical. (See Freddie & M Caballe & Elvis sinnging 'Its Now or Never (O Sole Mio).

FYI - Freddie is wearing a Betty Boop t-shirt with the sleeves rolled up with tape! During the performance of “Hey Big Spender”, Freddie does a strip-tease by ripping his shirt off. (the shirt was pre-torn for easy tearing). Anyway, he throws the shirt into the crowd and it was caught by a vendor! He said there were 2 concert tickets clipped to the tag for the second Wembley show. 😁 He took the shirt home & while he was at work his Mum repaired the shirt by stitching it all back together!! Wait! What?? 👉🪡🧵 🤣🤣 Awww man! 👨🏻

Check out Roger sing I’m in love with my car in Montreal or studio versions of drowse, and more of that jazz or prepare for a gut punch with No One But You (only the good die young)
