So although I agree she isn’t the nicest engine in the Hit era, I see it as a fascinating character flaw

This are just fricking beautiful one of my all time grails in model form!

I recently visited the British National Railway museum. She was my favorite engine there.

Even on its own, No. 1 (and the rest of the "Eight-Footers" by extension) is gorgeous. Kudos to Rapido for that. Seeing her at the NRM in real life is definitely on my bucket list.

If Rapido does a second run of the GNR G3 Stirling Singles, I’d love to see the domed variants, too. I don’t know why, I just think they look as lovely as the domeless ones.

Emily no question is one of my all time favourite characters. The Sterling Single have such elegance to them.... Sodor's Emerald Angel. 💚

This is such a beautiful engine, and I really like the headcanon you have for Emily. For those who don’t know the headcanon, Emily is the preserved GNR No.1, who pulled rail tours to Sodor when she was still in steam. Personally, I’d like to think this happened before Thomas visited the NRM. Wonder if they ever met up again…

She has visited Sodor on a couple occasions on rail tours when she steamed in preservation.” Whether she’s in steam or on display is entirely to our interpretations. The broad gauge Iron Duke was scrapped irl and still appeared.

@@xavierjuno4572 My apologies. She is on display now. After the singles were withdrawn by 1916, No.1 was restored to working order in the 1930s for the 50th anniversary of Race to the North. It had returned to steam in the 1980s, and although it hasn’t steamed since 1985, she’s still in good mechanical condition. Interestingly enough, the locomotive was used in at least a couple of stage productions, one being of the Railway Children. Smoke from a fog machine was used for steam effects.

Ok me personally. I think Stirling singles are the best design wise. That big wheel is just so beautiful to me. No wonder Emily competed in the great railway show

My personal headcanon for Emily is that she was bought by the Sodor and Mainland railway as it's number 3 and the only S&M engine who still lives on Sodor and runs the Misty Valley Line.

But yeah, I actually really like the series the fact that he actually tells like the history and stuff so that it shows the model it’s really really cool I really hope to see the final results for the set up. He’s making a really help it. It’s really cool and I think there’s a dark side area. I wonder what’s Tug’s thoughts on the whole “Thomily” ship?

Truly amazing model. I think Stirling Single is one of the most iconic Victorian-era locomotives. I also like Emily though, one of my favorite characters (her season 7 character anyway). For me, the latter season didn’t do her justice (especially HiT era), she’s rather underused and underwritten. There were some of her good episodes but they could have done more. I mean, C’mon! The Stirling Single was the GNR premiere express locomotive, at least give her some shine on that. And I think the writers miss some opportunities to build up her character. The latter season depicted her as having problems with self esteem which is kinda odd if you ask me. If they really wanted to give her flaws, why didn’t they write her struggled with traction along with oscillations and how she overcame it? (The real Stirring Singles were known to have these issues).
