I applied for rapamycin (for aging) but was turned down. I'm male in my 70s in excellent health, but i had a bout of prostate cancer. I was treated by Cyberknife (radiation) 4 years ago, and I have my PSA checked every 6 months when I visit my radiologist. So far, so good, so I'm really disappointed I can't get rapamycin. Edit: I didn't make clear, the reason for the denial is my history with prostate cancer.

I recently got put on Everolimus (2.25 mg twice per day). Since my mTOR is being constantly suppressed, what are the implications on my lean mass? Is it still possible to to gain muscle while being on EVR? I would so love to have some clarity, if possible... Thanks

Im trying to save up Some extra cash right now to start a 3month supply of Rapamycin protocol. Im a 40 yr old male on TRT and also take Metformin for weight loss and anti-aging. Do you think a 5mg a week dose would be a good dose to start with for my age?

Non medic here: that seems to be "the dose." But I've also heard 6mg once per week. Maybe it is weight dependent? Nevertheless, I'm in your situation (but considerably older). I get 60 1 mg pills every 12 weeks. I'm thinking of taking 6mg for 10 weeks and cycling out 2 weeks every period. But that's not based on anything.

Are there rapamycin human studies in the pipeline?

  • @riceexperiment

Right. People should enroll in trials, not just take this drug. Those were *genetically *modified yeast and lab animals. There is extensive extrapolation to human uses without this being supported by safety or efficacy studies in controlled clinical human trials, right?

@@riceexperiment There have been tons of safety studies on rapamycin. It's an FDA approved drug at much higher doses than people use for longevity.

Eating vegan still activates mTOR. The only way not to activate it would be to not eat anything.

You can still overdo it with protein intake as a vegan. Too much protein intake can stimulate mTor.
