Lyrics
She's got a smile that it seems to me
Reminds me of childhood memories
Where everything was as fresh as the bright blue sky
Now and then when I see her face
She takes me away to that special place
And if I stare too long, I'd probably break down and cry
Whoa, oh, oh
Sweet child o' mine
Whoa, oh, oh, oh
Sweet love of mine
She's got eyes of the bluest skies
As if they thought of rain
I'd hate to look into those eyes and see an ounce of pain
Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place
Where as a child I'd hide
And pray for the thunder and the rain to quietly pass me by
Whoa, oh, oh
Sweet child o' mine
Whoa whoa, oh, oh, oh
Sweet love of mine
Whoa, yeah
Whoa, oh, oh, oh
Sweet child o' mine
Whoa, oh, whoa, oh
Sweet love of mine
Whoa, oh, oh, oh
Sweet child o' mine
Ooh, yeah
Ooh, sweet love of mine
Where do we go?
Where do we go now?
Where do we go?
Ooh, oh, where do we go?
Where do we go now?
Oh, where do we go now?
Where do we go? (Sweet child)
Where do we go now?
Ay, ay, ay, ay, ay, ay, ay, ay
Where do we go now?
Ah, ah
Where do we go?
Oh, where do we go now?
Oh, where do we go?
Oh, where do we go now?
Where do we go?
Oh, where do we go now?
Now, now, now, now, now, now, now
Sweet child
Sweet child of mine

Just saw an interview with guitarist Slash. He said he hates this song because that intro is just how he warms up his fingers EVERYTIME before he plays any song. But Axel heard it, loved it, "What song is that??" "Song? That's not a song that's just a warm up I do." The rest is history.

This was written about Erin Everly, daughter of Don Everly, of the Everly Brothers. She was Axl's girlfriend, then briefly, his wife. This album took a little while to take off, but once it did, you heard it on every radio, and in every cassette deck. It was pretty wild how big it got. 🤘💖🎸🎤

I really enjoy watching people react to some of the best music of our time. It brings so many amazing memories back and sometimes wish I could hear them for the first time again. GNR have always been amazing same with pink Floyd, CCR Metallica, led zeppelin lanyard skynard, billy idol and so many more. I don't know if you have reacted to any of the Angel's music. Could I suggest am I ever goin a see your face again. It needs to be live and around the 80's. It more about the stage presence and crowd interaction. That is one thing I miss about punk and rock music especially the likes of Australian bands who came up through the pub scenes.

Daaamn ! I love the fact that young'guns are now discovering for the first time songs that were all the rage when I was their age. Gun's n Roses was one of the absolute most iconic bands of the end of 80's to early 90's, and all their songs that went on the radio and MTV were instant cult classics ! Also, Slash, the guitarist, was widely proclaimed to be the best rock guitarist of the world during this era, sometimes requested by the greatest, like Michael Jackson. If you've seen the teaser trailer of Thor Love and Thunder, you might have recognized that vaguely familiar riff. I love James Gunn and Taika Waititi for this, in the MCU : They're bringing their fantastic musical taste to it, making it that much more cult classics !

Ok , if you ain't listened to November rain or Mr. Brownstone, two songs I highly recommend if you haven't heard them . November rain is the definition of a power ballad. And Mr Brownstone was wrote in reaction to one of the band members GFs getting him hooked on heroine

If I remember correctly this was wrote for Axl Rose's first wife, Erin, who was the the daughter of Don Everly of the Everly Brothers. I've seen Guns n Roses in concert and Slash is really that good. I've always considered him one of the top guitarists in Rock. If I remember correctly when it came to record that beginning riff it took Slash multiple tries, like in the double digits, even though when he came up with it he was just joking around in warm up. Actually Slash's mother is a rather famous TV actress who played the African American lady part of the interracial couple who were friends/neighbors of George & Lousie Jefferson on the show "The Jeffersons".

I used to play this on the drums. Way back in my band days. Great music! Used to hang out with friends and blare this type of music. I liked a lot of rock, and heavy metal. Hell even way back in the Rat Pack Days. I liked all kinds I guess you can say.

So what I love about alternate versions of a song is that it lets you reinterpret and reimagine a song. Take this song, for example. Me and a couple of friends jam every Saturday night in the garage and have for years. Our ages range from 65 to 49. For the youngest, the drummer, this song was popular when he was in high school. It was played at dances and prom. For me, it was while in college and we sang with it at parties. For the two older guys who were already married with kids and working full time when it came out....they were not big fans and really did not get to know the song. So when we decided to play it as a band (Drummers fav song) we all listened to it over and over. Two members could not connect but liked the basic feel of the song.....so we did what many do and remade it our way. We moved it to a minor key, slowed it down and it became a much darker sound that tells the story in a different voice. The original rumored to be about Erin Everly who many claim wrote the song and Axels Girl friend at the time. Our version is inspired about people being lost in the world today and having to find a way out on their own. Many truest hate when a song is remade or alternate versions made of the song. For me, a well written song should be remade over and over and over and bring new life and meaning to new audiences. Take Black Betty. Was a folk song from the 30's recorded by Leadbelly in the 40's popularized by Ram Jam in the 70's and brought back to millions by Tom Jones in 2003. Each time remade for a different audience and tells a different story. From the original musket story to the story about a woman. As long as the band gives credit to the original, the interpretations become amazing. Want to hear our version and how we interpreted the song? Take a listen kzread.info/dash/bejne/m4KYxqecXc2ZeKQ.html
