That’s a good one Rob. His drum play through of beyond oblivion is fire too. Rob and I have talked a ton of music in our day. In fact, the first time I saw Alex with trivium live, Rob was there. So Rob, you think he would like my own grave by as I lay dying. Such a great song coming off the turmoil the lead singer caused that band which makes it all the more powerful.

As good as he is on drums, he is to people. Humble, to a surprising degree. He actually interacts with people here on KZread, just like Matt does. check this out, I went to a meet and greet in Atlanta for Trivium, and I took a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gi to get the band to sign it. Matt, the guitarist is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu guy. He asked how long I’ve trained, I told him (1995), he fucking bowed to me! In front of hundreds of people at a meet and greet! What the hell? Fucking humbled the fuck out of me, at his act of humility. Tell me another musician that does a legit “bow” to a nobody fan. These guys are the real deal.

That band is EPIC in every sense of the word. I play classical and jazz piano but now am trying to figure out how to inject some Trivium in my playing..

Alex is one of the drummers that I love but I can’t stand how he looks playing, because he’s doing some of the craziest shit I’ve seen but he looks like he’s taking a walk. He’s been a great drummer for a while, my goal being a drummer playing Trivium is to be able play this whole album.

If your interested the lead and rhythm gutar player played this song it would be a good learning experience to see what goes into the guitar parts of this song.

You should definifely check out Matt Halpern (of Periphery) play through 22 faces! That guy is a monster on the drums!

You should definitely check out lamb of god if you like drums, they’re a bit heavier than trivium but the drums are insane. Their drummer Chris Adler has recently left the band so their new album isn’t as good but any of their old stuff is absolutely insane, I recommend walk with me in hell by them, it’s crazy!

Should have said this earlier but you need to check out Jinjer, Pisces live session. Everyone is doing it, and doing it for a reason! First time I saw the video, I was a fan. Might be at a loss for words on this one too!!!
