0:50 Power Metal is Metal music with emphasis on fantasy themes, heroism, symphonic (symphonic power metal) music, choir sounds, etc. It pretty much began with Helloween back in the 60s? Dragonforce is among the most iconic names in the genre. Some notable examples include: Sabaton (another iconic band whose theme is WWI.....no seriously) Powerwolf (Werewolves during the Crucades), Elvenking (druidic sort of themes), and more.

In the studio version, that solo was a lot longer than you heard. They cut out like a minute of the solo so the music video wouldn't run too long. The song is actually 7+ minutes long.

Respect…you appreciate the effort it takes to play this type of music

If you ask some sort of music snob, they'll give you a long and boring definition about the differences between all the different types of metal including power metal. All you really need to know, is that power metal should make you feel like you can go slay a fucking dragon. Upbeat, intense, and inspiring.

Dio was always pretty clear with his lyrics, very rarely did he have a lyric you couldn't understand and in most of those cases it was intentional.

Your involvement as viewers of this video is determined by only one criterion - whether you notice during Herman's solo the fact that Sam drinks beer. You followed the solo. You deserve a like bruh!

The best way to appreciate power metal is to lose yourself in it. Sit back, close your eyes, and let the song create that fantasy. Let that mind go wild as they help you make a grand tale with your own imagination. And yes, head banging is encouraged.

It's a hallmark of American music and is one thing that really permeates all American genres from bluegrass to hip hop to big band. It's pretty much been adooted by the world now, but it's always been a corner stone of American music since before American independence. It was black Americans who brought this particular mix-in to our melting pot and the popularity of the format permeated throughout all American music, and then the whole world's music. power metal is a subgenre of metal one defined by guitar solos and fast paced music and I've heard Dragonforce be described a s a bunch of guitar solos gaining sentience and forming a band To be fair power metal is not my go to choice for metal music (Folk metal is my poison [bands like Arka'n Asrafokor, Bloodywood, Al namrood, ...]) but I do gotta give credit where credit is due. Dragonforce is awesome... also a good introduction to metal
