You definitely understood the meaning of the song. At the end, you will notice that it ends on a note that doesn't quite sound like the final note of a song. That is because the entire album Dark Side of the Moon has the songs flow into one another. If you ever have the time, it is definitely worth it to hear the album in its entirety.

My first ex-wife was a bit younger than me, and I introduced her to Pink Floyd. The first time she heard Time we were lying in bed, and she freaked a little bit because she had a "thing" about loud bells. Thankfully she wound up loving PF almost as much as I do. You don't just listen to Pink Floyd, you experience it.

Try listening to "Dark Side of the Moon" from start to finish without a break. For David Gilmour at his absolute peak, I recommend "Comforably Numb" from the Pulse album, probably the best guitar solo of all time.

Yes! The essence is in the lyrics. And as you getting older it talks to everyone. But I’m asking everyone, ever did think about getting older when you were under 20 yrs old? And no worry brother, you are never late to this party. It was not an accident that this record was shoot up in space printed on 18 carat gold, with a speech of JFK, and Einstein theories. We are gonna be dead, and that record will travel further and further in the Universe, and if we are lucky, some other “ civilizations “ will catch it and listen to our voices, and hopefully they are not as screwed as we are. But you made a mistake to not listening it as one continuously song. Other gems are on that record, just as mindblowing than Time. Do it brother, and your view will change forever about our little miserable life!!!

Last I heard they were looking for somewhere around half a Billion dollars for it. So whoever buys it, Sony, or some investment firm or whoever, you can bet you'll be hearing lot more of their music everywhere once the deal goes through. Maybe even commercials. You're the first person out of all the PF reax videos to nail it as the '70s without knowing. You said it was the bass line. If that's true, if that's what you heard, I am truly impressed. I'm glad I watched. I would never have known that had you not said it. I've been listening to this music since it came out in '73, and everything under sun before and since. Pink Floyd stands alone as a phenomenon in a galaxy of musical wonders. How they pulled it off is... impossible to wrap your head around. There's a metaphysical aspect to the music AND the lyrics AND the many seemingly random sounds. As another reaction video noted, all of these sounds are in tune and in HARMONY, even though they don't sound like typical musical instruments. I interviewed David Gilmour in '84. He was as humble and gracious as you might imagine for a man of unworldly talent.

I had a friend that made watch the wall too. She had OG hippies as parents, u know the type who didn’t sell out and became yuppies but stayed living the hippie life. She got me listening to classic rock and I was super into it during my teens, it was great when friends with different musical tastes got into the car together bc it was the one genre nobody hated. I haven’t really listened to it in a min bc I get tired of songs so quickly and it’s not like they’re making more classic rock; but Pink Floyd has remained a fav. ( tho I don’t listen to them often anymore, don’t want to ruin my fav PF songs). I’m more of a wall era fan bc it felt darker then the other music and it fit me better. I like other Pink Floyd albums but the wall is #1 for me. I think part of my affection was I spent almost 2 yrs in a lockup for troubled teens and we weren’t allowed much in the way of entertainment unless we achieved top levels which were hard to get and maintain. So books and music were it most of the time. I also got sentenced to lots of room time (a torturous punishment where you had to spend a certain amount of time in your room every hour. I’d always get the worst, 45 mins in my room & 15 out with no activities. One of the things that saved me was we had like one decent radio station that did this bracket every year putting classic rock bands against each other. The final two always came down to led zeppelin vs Pink Floyd. I’d always be rooting for Pink Floyd and I’d make bets with those kids who were team LZ. (The prize was valuable contraband or being look out for when you wanted to make out with ur bf in the stairwell, so we’d get invested.) So like the only thing that kept me from going crazy in a 12X12 room with whyte cinderblock walls and a safety screened window were books and music.

thank you, I’m against that kind of punishment too, especially the way our privatized, inhumane, carceral state does it w solitary confinement. (Ofc I’m not comparing my experience w what happens to prisoners, i just got a taste of it). I’m a parent now & no matter what was going on with my kid, I’d never let my kid be put anywhere that practiced such harsh punishments. It is amazing how music effects us. I’ve seen videos of Parkinson’s patients who can’t walk, suddenly able to walk when music is playing, & barely verbal dementia patients who come out of their shells after listening to music from their youth. Even animals are affected positively by music.

Cool reaction, man. This wouldn't have been in any commercials but if you saw the MCU movie The Eternals, it was played during the opening sequence of the film. Looking forward to more Floyd on your channel! I'd start with Comfortably Numb, Money, Wish You Were Here, and Hey You as songs you can react to singularly. Most Pink Floyd albums are concept albums where the music, messages, tones and themes flow seamlessly and continuously. As a result, they're best consumed and understood when done in one sitting. Even if you listen to them in full but break up the reaction into sections, that appeased the fan base while you still avoid copyright issues.

The album Dark Side of the Moon should be listened to as a whole as its concept is the journey from birth to death. Its themes remain universal. Listen to the other single release 'Money' and see if anything has changed in 50 years! It was released when I was a month short of 15 and it still sounds fresh. After you've taken in Dark Side, try 1994's 'High Hopes' reflecting on their formative years. It's the same theme as Time' but looking back from the fulfillment of ambition.

Maybe as a reaction or just for your own sake, I'd sit through this whole album in one sitting. Same goes for the Ines that follow it: Wish Hou Were Here, Animals, and The Wall. Many of the tunes won't resonate at all if you don't hear them in context. For instance, the closing part of this song is really a separate track that reprised Breathe, which is a few tracks previous. What he's talking about is a funeral there...the church bells etc. The next track (Great Gig in the Sky), with only moans and screams from a female vocalist, is about actually leaving rhe body and ascending to...wherever. The Wall album is pretty awesome but the movie is trash...way too overblown and disgusting.

Glad you liked it; just wish you had a better quality headset vs. buds. Youll miss a lot on the low end.

You totally get it, one minute your a child, and then bang your an adult, you dont think about all the stuff in between, and now it's too late, all the things you aspired to but never did or acheived, all you have is regret.
