Yet he has been our only worthwhile player to watch in the playoffs and the only one who seems to have balls when we face the teams who give us trouble in October, only Stanton showed up in the 2021 wildcard, only Stanton showed up in the 2020 playoffs and only Stanton and Bader showed up against the Astros in 2022, while the rest of the team, including Judge were putting an embarrassing performance.

The thing that gets me nervous about this team, is the lack of urgency. Under Boone’s leadership there’s been this idea that “it’s still early” or “there’s plenty of baseball left to play. And I just don’t sense urgency in their play outside of Soto

Meant to comment on this earlier.. that's exactly what happened. Like 45% of the audience watches on TV, so I wanted to adapt it for 4K (this was last season) but I didn't have all the tools in my bag to do what I wanted to do until this season. Hope it's looking good! BTW, I am a videophile too - and I watch a lot of movies now on my Apple Vision Pro...kind of pricey so it won't be for everyone, but if you get the chance to experience a 3D movie on one of those things, dont pass it up.

As I said after yesterdays game: despite an overhaul to their lineup, the Yankees rely too much on the long ball to score their runs. They need to really work on just getting base hits instead of solo-home running the other team to death.

Losing to a better team can be an eye opener. Pretend you're pitching against the Yankees: you walk soto or get him to chase high without giving up a hr. Then you throw low and out to judge the whole ab cuz the ump will give you those sometimes or you walk the guy to get to Stanton who is an automatic k or you can coax him into a gidp. Another side note, If you're pitching with the lead and nobody is on base, solo shots aren't momentum breakers, so better to let the 250 batter get his only hit when nobody is on than when guys are stringing hits together in the same inning. That's why gleyber needs to hit his may streak, we need oswaldo, we need verdugo and we need trevino and wells to hit at their position and at the dh. Berti is on his way back, and keep oswaldo at 2b until lemahieu returns if gleyber is gonna slump.

Big Stanton Defender here but it's getting hard to defend him. He needs to run hard. he needs to play the outfield. It's an optics issue now and in NY everything is magnified. His OPS+ is not bad. 114. last year he was bad at 87 OPS+. his average is up 40 points from last year. Slugging up 40 points. BTW, look up his metrics on baseball savant, his barrel rate and exit velo were in the 95 percentile, hard hit was 86th percentile, but it didnt translate so he was a victim of Dillon Lawson. This year it's pretty much the same. I think he's the victim of analytics/saber metrics. Not that it matters, only results matter, but i think context was needed here.

They have rules about how they use releievers which is why they didn't roll out Holmes in the 10th inning in game 1 against the Brewers. I don't know exactly what the rules are but if they want to follow them fine. You don't have to push hard in the regular part of the season at the expense of wearing guys out. Judge hasn't had a day off yet, what are the rules with him exactly? They have changed their tune from what they said about his playing time in the outfield last year. I feel like he should DH tomorrow and then take the next day off and clear his head for the weekend series. They should pretend like they are playing the Brewers again so they can loosen up because in the field and in the batters box they are playing pretty wound up tight. Maybe beacause everyone is telling them this is a playoff series when it's just enother series in April. Without DJ coming back I need somebody replacing Cabrera, Rizzo and Torres on a more regular basis because Rizzo doesn''t look like an everyday guy in the field anymore and gets exposed with certain pitching mathcups. Cabrera simple case of what goes up must come down and his stats are looking more Cabrera-ish everyday. Torres like Judge needs a day from time to time. If they want to follow Soto's lead of playing everyday, I'd say don't.
