Great show! Well I am 55 and I have been listening to Crue since I was 15. I pretty much think that Vince Neil has sang that way that entire time except it’s gotten worse because he’s overweight like a lot of us in our 50’s and out of breath. I am more of a Mick fan because I play guitar because of what Mick brought to the table. I also really like Mick because he kind of keeps to himself and wasn’t in the drama over the years. He just did his thing and wasn’t a drama queen. I know it takes several members to make a band but in my opinion, Mick is the one that made motley Crue what they are due to tone and riffs on guitar. I am well aware that Nikki wrote a ton of songs , melodies lyrics and all but Mick was the beef Manhattan of that band :) I guess we’ll find out what happens but in my personal opinion when I saw Mötley Crüe back in 2015 for their final tour twice .. I truly respected them for leaving the party and I thought it was because of Mick and his health. When the movie the dirt came out, and when they started to tour again, I had no interest going to go see them on the final tour. There were tons of people that spent thousands of dollars to fly to concert dates and get hotels and see the band for the last time and then they pull this. I’ve seen Mötley Crüe three times in my lifetime and I’ve seen Vince Neil twice on his solo shows the first time I saw him he had Steve Stevens who is freaking amazing and the slaughter band with Vince .. on Vinces solo shows I really thought that he sounded really good and the show was live. Joe Blando is an outstanding player singer and Vince did great . I tend to wonder if they stadium tour was literally a track playing that they played to… a lot of people that I’ve spoken with, said that they went to the show and couldn’t hear hardly anything, and I don’t think it actually shld be blamed only on Vince since he was actually singing. Anyway, sorry to rant I just wanted to share my thoughts. And as a sidenote, I really do you like John 5… hes amazing .. I also really enjoyed John Corabi and truly thought that was one of the best Mötley albums ever… Anyway hope Bob Rock can pull out a DR Feelgood 2 but wo Mick I don’t see it. John 5 is incredible and will do an amazing job but wo Mick it’s not Motley

TOMMY Lee figured out who the real as$$holes were in the band in the book The Dirt and I quote: "TOmmy said the whole time people called Vince and a -hole when he was going through his daughters sickeness (basically because he couldn't be around , like he had a choice) and nobody, not one person called him to even see how he was doing or even visit him . Tommy asked : "sooo, who were the real a$$holes?" meaning pretty much all the other band members lol.

To be fair, although I know most here aren't fans of them, R.E.M. was a huge band throughout the '80s and '90s but in 2011 when they said they were done, they were done. They never toured, recorded or performed live ever again.

I'm a Crue fan but the truth is that they are the McDonald's of hard rock. You can yell (correctly) "why do people eat at McD's??? It's so bad..." but it just doesn't matter. People want nostalgia, a night out to drink, Tommy urging the ladies to show boobs, etc. Interesting fact: John Corabi said "we haven't heard from Mick. I smell a rat" back when Mick was ousted, before the latest brouhaha. Personally, I think Nikki is a snake and/or they have a management team that is pushing them to go for $$$ over any shred of integrity.

I'm siding with Mick. When Mick announced Motley's Farewell tour on That Metal Show, he seemed to mean it. It's sad what's happening to him. In their statement, Motley said that Mick was missing notes, and not playing his best. Kind of an odd statement to make considering that Vince Neil is their singer. Regarding the Who and Kiss, those were Farewell Tours. The Who's 1982 was the last with drummer Kenny Jones. When they did the reunion tour in 1989, Simon Phillips was their drummer, but I don't think that he was a full-time member. Neither is Zak Starkey. Although, Pete and Roger did attempt to make Zak a full member, but he turned them down. The 2000 Kiss Farewell was the last with the four original members. It's funny that Ace and Peter signed away their makeup rights, but then complained about it. They should have told Gene and Paul to F off. I know that Pete has accepted Molly Hatchet. I'm okay with Skynyrd going on without Gary. They were working on an album. I hope that they finish it, send dedicate it to Gary. They still have some long-term members, including Ricky Meddlocke, who was their drummer in the early '70s. Johnny has been with them for decades.

The way Ace talks he says he still gets paid by Kiss. I'm guessing by use of his image. It's confusing to me what happened. But hey, the dumbest thing I've heard was Robert Plant selling his publishing royalties to Atlantic for $3M in the early 80s. Now that is the biggest loss of income I've ever heard of in rock. Can you imagine? No wonder he's butthurt about Zeppelin. Probably why he toured with Page a couple of times. But now he's too good to look back.

Nikki can write lyrics but Mick made the Crue work. I saw them many times over the years and Mick was the only one that was good. On the Saints of LA tour I noticed Nikki was using Bass tracks and walked out. I threw all my Crue stuff in the trash.

20:36 John 5 is probably the best player but not necessarily the best writer. I don't think the Crue would be where they are now if he was in the band in 1981 (versus Mick). The weird thing is that, as a soloist, Mick wasn't trendy like his contemporary shredders (Warren DeMartini, Jake E. Lee, George Lynch) but his bluesy style has given the music more longevity as the hits don't seem as dated as the others.

Mick's guitar riffs were the foundation and engine in that band that kept their music chugging along. I never even cared much for the band, but I've always told my ex (who did like them) that he was the only reason I would go see them. My mom had RA that pretty much turned her to stone. I was always amazed how well he could play given his limited movement. He was actually a great motivator for my own playing when injuries through the years almost made me hang it all up.

John 5 was an excellent choice but I bet he's kinda bummed that they aren't really playing live. Imagine finally playing with your heroes and youre playing to a tape. Theres a KZread video out which shows what Mick was getting fed into his in-ears. It's pretty sad. I think Tommy is using tapes because he recently broke 4 ribs. Doubtful he could play the way he normally plays with that kind of injury. I watched a concert and he didn't do his drum solo.

Part of the reason for the ticket sales is the whole bill, not just Crue. Def Leppard is still huge (and released a pretty great album last year), Poison has a pretty big fan base, Joan Jett has a little bit of a following but was a nice addition for an opener, and when the tour was first announced (pre-Covid and when many bought their tickets) Whitesnake was part of the bill, as well. This isn't just Crue filling up stadiums.

Quick note regarding the mention of the Rolling Stones...the Stones never had a farewell tour and never said anything was their last tour. I think people often mistake the seven-year gap in touring in the 80s as a farewell, but nothing like that was ever announced. Each subsequent tour since then has been to support a new album or commemorate an anniversary....no reunions, no farewells...just an on-going band that has yet to stop.

So to sue them for a bigger percentage is just sheer greed, & downright cheek. I’m siding with Motley Crue with this one, & I’m not a huge fan of their work.

He stills owns the same percentage in Aerosmith. He got sick and he was told he had to audition for the band and was told he wasn't good enough. 19:30 Sharon will still cart Ozzy on stage even after he’s died! She will take the saying, flogging a dead horse in a literal sense. Sharon will outdo the Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral procession & have Ozzy’s specially preserved made glass class coffin & take him on many more world tours. All the legacy bands will still carry on even after the original band members have moved on because it’s a brand, & bands like Iron Maiden will employ a singer & band players to carry on the legacy. Otherwise the unofficial tribute bands will profit more from a defunct brand. So what better way than to make an “official” tribute band endorsed by the Dickinson/Harris/Murray estate & carry on bringing that money home. That way the younger generation can brag online that they went to the official tribute act, & showing off their official merch etc. I suppose one good thing might come out of it. There is no definite answer as to how much a former member gets paid. As I understand it, a 25% membership in a company is exactly that: 25% of the profits. When bands are on tour they make money not only by playing but by selling merch and all the other stuff. A member that is not performing does not get paid per performance or per week but gets his percentage from all the other income that the "company" produces. He/she also gets performance royalties for the percentage of the songs he/she has co written or written exclusively that are performed every night live or on tv, radio, web etc. The case here or the case with Bill Ward and others that are involved with very savy and agressive managers, is that they have been asked to sign off or give away their initial percentage. This is how I understand it anyway.....

Mick definitely has had the most adversity in his life-- most of the adversity experienced by the other 3 members of the band has largely been self-induced. Mick was pretty much finished in early 2004-- he was a few weeks close to death, but Nikki and Tommy, quite frankly, and to give them credit, saved his life. They got him back up, got him in to get surgery on his hips, gave him a reason to live. He learned how to walk and play again, kicked opioids, worked out and got stronger, and BOOM, he was, by early 2005, ready to record material and go back on tour. Then he met Seraina and that REALLY made him better. Over the past 15 years, Nikki has become strictly business and a gatekeeper of his brand, and it has changed his behavior drastically. Tommy, being the youngest and the most influenced by Mick, used to worship the ground he walked on-- I think money and greed finally got the best of them and after Saints of Los Angeles they have been running on empty. Too bad they didn't quit after that album.

I recently saw the Scorpions and Skid Row in Las Vegas and they sounded pretty good, but you could see they were feeling their age. Mick Mars stated he was not retiring from MC, just the long tours. He said he fully expected to be in the recording studio and would do shorter tours and residencies. I tend to side with him considering that Motley Crue went around promising that the 2015 tour was the end, but after renewed interest in the band after The Dirt came out on Netflix... Nikki couldn't resist another cash grab. I think that there is a possibility that would void the previous agreement regarding touring, especially considering Mick's ongoing health issues.
