Note about Indiana River @bobbejaanland It will be re-built next year with a Vulcano Theme, so you no longer have the ability to ride the original Indiana theme after next weekend

The reason Slagharen is Western Theme is that it's connected with the Ponypark. Where you can sleep in lodges and ride on pony's all day long. It's all about horses ans pony's so the theming is based on that.

I also love Bobbejaanland! I live a 10-minute drive from the park and I have a subscription every year. Sometimes we pass the park and I quickly do the Fury and we continue, it is fantastic to have a theme parc so close

as a dutch i have too say Slagharen is in my bottom 2 of our attraction park along with Drievliet. Although i havent been to both in a very long time due to it being school excursions(about 2012-15) i do love Walibi and Efteling. And Wunderland Kalkar(apparently its now called Kernie's familyparc) is amazing for kids, eventhough its in Germany i highly recommend it when going to Netherlands since its about a 170km drive from Amsterdam since its just across the border with Germany and its almost only highway driving

I think that tivoli is not overrated, it’s just not really a park you visit for the rides alone and more for the beauty and culture of it

I have a pretty funny story about Fury in Bobbejaanland. I went there on a school trip in May of this year. Our first ride, we chose the vote row so we could go backwards, which was awesome. Near the end of the day, we were in the queue again, with the intention of going forwards. When we arrived at the station, there was no line for the vote cars and a small line for forwards, so because we were a group of 8 people and would always have a majority vote, we chose the vote queue and decided to vote to go forwards. The thing is, the empty row was filled with 4 people from a Fasttrack queue who wanted to go backwards. They were pissed when the train went forwards

Glad you enjoyed Bellewaerde. Yes, the alpine coaster is vertiginous. But my favorite coaster there was Huracan for sure (although the trains on Wakala were really cool).

I watched both parts of this series, and most of these parks look incredibly nice. Most of them really do a great job of incorporating the natural surroundings into their parks. They also don't hold back with their theming throughout their parks, with some of them having downright bizarre and off-the-wall theming (for example, a mechanical young man depositing green vomit into a barrel????). A few of the coasters in this series are near the top of my coaster bucket list (Ride to Happiness being the most notable of these).

Skyline Park at #19 has me scratching my head. but hey! you experienced it and not me lol. looking forward to more rankings from the trip 🤙🏼

To the Topic Rheinkirmes. The Rides there are also very unique, like Höllenblitz, Wilde Maus XXL and also Ghostrider. It was actually the first Funfair after the Pandemic Regulations in Germany were swept. I love to go there and I love the Rides every time. And actually you Spelled the Wildlife Park in Germany pretty good. I could understand it x) Sadly the Coaster is closed for now cause there was a horrible accident... No Info when it will open again. Moviepark is my Home Themepark and is actually based on an American Themepark. You can see every Day American Flaggs on Screens and such. I still love that Park and have a Season Pass, and they still want to expand and build something new. But for Colossus.... you must be lucky that the Coaster is open. It still has Problems from the Past before they rebuild and rethemed the Coaster.

I live near Skyline park and i was shocked when i realized there were actual theme parks with terraforming n stuff as a kid😅

The Tivoli ranking was like a shot in the heart. I agree that the ride lineup is not one of the best, but the atmosphere and appearance were unmatched. It’s just such a special experience, and I guess just like Disney World, not everyone has that magical experience.

True the coaster lineup is not great - except for Rutschebanen which is awesome - but, as has been said - I also was totally charmed by the place. And I loved the two dark rides, which you didn’t mention.

From your point of view, I understand your ranking of Slagharen, but I disagree. As someone who lives in the Netherlands, I can tell you that I don't know a single other theme park with a wildest theme in the country. So for me, it makes it really unique since I had never seen something like it before. The park is also a decent size with tons of different attractions, granted indeed only one big rollercoaster. There is even a tropical swimming pool located inside the park, which has some cool slides. In the winter especially Slagharen is really nice. They have an amazing light show before the park closes, with Christmas lights and fire baskets all along the park. They even have an ice-skating ring. For small children, there are also ponies to ride on or rent went they stay at a caravan home in the park. It is really quite cool. Having visited quite a few times when I was a bit younger (I am now 19 yo), Slagharen holds a special place in my heart.

The light show (miracle of lights) has now been replaced by the Western Wishfall since 2020 which i think was a pretty dumb decision. the vibe hits right but it will never be better then that absolute class show at the end. but yeah the fact that today wil be my 23rd vissit this year alone makes it obvious that this place definitely has something. The atmosphere is just so nice there.

Those smaller funky theme parks are usually great fun for young kids. Its great for family vacation activities and schools.

So Klotten… THAT’S the theme park near Cochem. I’ve been to that town plenty of times. It’s a gorgeous town. One time I noticed the shape of a roller coaster on a hill. That’s Klotten theme park. Never been there but I’ve been near the Mosel river really often, some of the towns there are really nostalgic to me.

The only man who has ever described tic-tac as mellow. I honestly don’t believe you rode it.

Rheinkirmes is great because it's right next to the Rhine river but Oktoberfest in Munich is easily three times bigger e.g. the Beer Tents are more like buildings with upper levels or balconies. The beer is five times bigger but i prefer the Altbier from Düsseldorf

Oh damn didn't expect Slagharen to be that low (never been there but it's quite a well known park in the Benelux) and I am quite surprised by how high Bobbejaanland ranked. These videos of international enthusiasts visiting my home park is always fascinating, because it makes me appreciate my home park more. Fun fact about Bobbejaanland, if you didn't know already, they are going to retheme Indiana river to something with a volcano theme so it will be a completely different experience than it is now. Typhoon is probably the second most intense coaster I've ever ridden, the helixes and vertical loop are intense imo.

One to add for France is Fraispertuis City. Not too large, saloon themed, but has a few very nice coasters - in particular the mouse coaster there.

I personally really liked Slagharen - besides the great "Gold Rush", they have a lot of outstanding flat rides: an old Monster/Octopus Ride which went quite fast, the Schwarzkopf Enterprise was pulling some serious G-Forces, the Drop Tower was really intense and I also appreciated their weird swing ride themed like a giant planet. The park is truly lacking a bigger coaster - but it will come in the next years...

I actualy slept at slagharen and its cabins are great, but i do agree it lacks alot of real big rides besides gold rush and the free fall, i realy hope it gets more grown up rides because its a great park

I have a German friend who grew up near Heide Park and he last went before the Colossos retracting. He said it wasn’t worth riding due to the roughness.

@@CoasterDash having ridden it before and after the rework I can confirm that the expirience of Colossos is ALOT better now. Also as a very tall person who is technically to tall to ride roalercoasters... it might be the most comfortable Ride I've ever had xD. FLug der Dämonen seats are also quite comfy for tall people. Wouldnt recommend Kraken or Desert race If youre above 195 cm....

I live in the netherlands and i agree with slagharen being low. Its honestly the vacation resort with the pony park thats the main attraction. The coasters are just there for amusement. I have only been to slagharen during eater events and even then its not rlly worth it. It was pretty much meant for small kids that like ponys

It was totally awesome. And we’re probably looking at Scandinavia or Japan next. I’ll definitely be in China one day too. You need to obtain a visa as an American citizen but it usually isn’t hard to get.

Yes - the pendulum ride was actually my favorite ride at BonBonLand, much to my shock.

Fun facts about bobejaanland the onwer used to ride around the park with his car to great the guest in the 60s or 70s and my has seen him drive around in the park when he was a kid, the owner bobbejaan shuppen was a famous singer in belgium but he died a long time ago

Actually the Cranger Kirmes is larger than the Rheinkirmes, it has more attractions and coasters, but the Rhein Kirmes got as many visitors as Crange, both 3,9 Millions. So what’s also nice: most of the rides are the same in Crange and Düsseldorf, but you pay less in Crange, which is funny clause they are very close to each other.

The new coaster coming to skyline park will be a 229 ft mack hypercoaster or gerstlauer Eurofighter

The only parks i have gone too is Bobbejaanland and Plopsaland

In the Netherlands a Wild West theming is very rare, so I really like Slagharen, but I understand in USA everything is Wild West themed lol. But in my opinion it still doesn't deserve to be that low...

Yea Slagharen is special... It's western theme had to do with its past where it was a park centered around riding pony's. Throughout the years it changed to become an attraction park with bigger rides etc. but all in all it is more focussed to children I believe.

Hidden in the back of Zatorland, beyond the dinosaurs alive type area, is this bizarre land themed to Greek mythology and the whole place is like a fever dream. It’s understandable if you didn’t have the time to find this, but you would definitely remember it if you did.

Believe it or not, I only found out about this after visiting Zatorland. The fact that I never knew it existed goes to show how poorly marked it was. but i’m certain that it would’ve been cool enough to boost this park a few spots on this list!

@@CoasterDash Poorly marked is an understatement. You have to go through the long dinosaurs alive exhibit and then notice what looks like (and is) a side exit to the park. You actually go out turnstiles. The only thing that made me check it out was a sign pointing to a Greek mythology land. I exited and then rounded a corner and approached another gate, with an attendant, not expecting my same entrance ticket to work (and I just happened to have kept it in my pocket), but it did. Just the weirdness of this Narnia sort of approach added to the fever dream quality. If it’s any consolation, the mythology area, objectively speaking, is pretty lame, but it’s just so weird - and big - that it’s worth finding.

I'm so sad that you didn't go to Parc Asterix 😭 easily my favourite theme park. Even though I'm a bit biased as a huge Asterix fan (it's a comic series), the rides actually are really great! Oziris is my favourite rollercoaster.

Go to the efteling for the theme or walibi for the coasters. When you visit the netherlands next time

To be fair to good old Slagharen, I don't know any other park I've been to with a Wild Western theme that I can remember. Certainly not Efteling. It started out as Ponypark Slagharen, by the way and is a good regional family themepark. Also, if you didn't get it, a themepark by theme is quite common here: Efteling = fantasy, Toverland = magic, Slagharen = wild west. Simple. We even had a park with theatre as their theme, centraled around an actual castle. But I guess Wild West theming is more commen for you if you're American.

In the 80s almost all amusementsparks in or near Benelux (except Efteling) had a wild west theme. Or a section that was a cowboy town: Bobbejaanland, Hellendoorn, Beekse Bergen, Phantasialand, several German parks I don’t remember the name of. Perhaps that’s why slagharen so low on this list: it’s stuck in the eighties.

Slagharen is one of the bottom theme parks in The Netherlands, I would suggest going to Walibi or De Efteling.

I actually rode both of those and enjoyed them very much! Drop towers just aren’t as much of a priority as coasters are.

Slagharen used to be a ponypark only so thats why its so western themed.

You got Slagharen in the list but no Duinrell? I mean in my opininion although slagharen is bigger, Duinrell is just way better in the ambiance and it has a good mix between children rides and normaal rides. Duinrell is also the only park in the Netherlands that has a Alpine coaster. The story behind Duinrell is also pretty fasinating. They never cut trees they want to keep the forest that its in and the name is also very fasinating, but i like pure out of childhood memories😂

Yes, I think that Heide’s is the best Mack bobsled in the world.

It has a pretty cool and long layout, but unfortunately ran quite rough at my visit in 2020. Avalanche at Blackpool Pleasure Beach was more enjoyable - for me, the best bobsled!

12:37 Funnily enough, that's the first thing I always think - and sometimes comment / say: it's very American. Or maybe the most American in Europe, I haven't seen all of them yet (and certainly not visited), but yeah. Probably the most American park of Europe. And I'm proud of our European park tradition, so erm. Yeah. All in MPG s well,. It's fine, there's nothing wrong with it, but yeah. It's middle of the road. Good enough.

Surprised you didnt visit De Efteling. its the oldest theme park in europe. even older then Disneyland.

If you ever go back to Europe, go to more french themeparks. Altho I'm from belgium i hava to admit that there are much better theme parks in france. I highly recommend Parc Astrix and Futuroscope. Parc Arstrix is more like a Plopsaland but 100 X better qnd Fututuroscope is a real high tech park

Man Why is Hansa Park not in there? You had the most popular coaster from the Park in the video. Also it has a 40 Year old Looping coaster by Schwarzkopf the worlds highest drop tower (120 meters) and a coaster with the second fastest acceleration in a launch on the world (from 25kmh to 100kmh in 1.4 seconds) The parks theming is amazing so I dont understand why you dont have it in your video.
