Black and white themes and the univa region in general are really good. They even had their own side game ; Pokepark 2

I didn't agree with everything, but putting With You in 2nd place is an absolute W choice. I really liked it, and felt it was nice for the final season, and now knowing it was the final English opening for Ash, I still felt it fit, as it had that sense of the journey always continuing and it being the "best part", as long as your friends were at your side, which was basically what the last episode of Aim to Be a Pokemon Master invoked. The one thing I wish it did was include more visuals of Ash's friends from the fourth Japanese opening of Journeys, but, it didn't need that to be a great opening

I just learned that Johto League Champions' visuals synergize so well with the music because every shot of it was custom animated for the song.

Very different opinions, that just shows that Pokémon theme songs are such a vibe that the fan base will have wildly different opinions.

Would love to see your opinions on the Japanese Openings. They drastically change how I feel about many of the English OPs.

Your number one choice is the MOST nostalgic for me because I first got into the Pokémon anime through Black and White: Adventures in Unova, so the fact that you put it at number one makes me happy. Of course, I just love all the Pokémon themes. Gen 5 admittedly has a soft spot in my heart because I watched the Gen 5 anime first, but even then I can say every season has amazing theme songs.

Although not my favorite season I am a sucker for the orange islands theme song. It always puts a smile one face til this day. 😊

You’re factually incorrect

I love most of the theme songs, while there's a couple that I'm not too big on personally. That said, it hurts seeing most of my favorites on the bottom 😭. I grew up with gen 3 (not the first season of gen 3) and gen 6's opening are bangers, with stand tall being too darn catchy. Orange islands does hit you with a lot of energy, and is just really catchy. Visuals aren't too important to me personally tbh, but that's a me problem. I'm kinda wanting to make my own ranking now and see where it goes. If I ever get it done I'll post it as a reply to this.

Underrated, also the Master Journeys opinion was valid, Regular Journeys wasn't imo

With the final season, the final intro, and the final theme coming out with "To Be a Pokemon Master" (not counting Horizons yet because I haven't seen it yet and want to put it in its own category away from Ash's journey), I personally think that that one is probably one of the best if not THE best. Does it heavily rely on nostalgia by reusing the original theme? Yes. But DAMN, I start crying every time I watch it. They bring in old clips of highlights of Ash's journey, and the remix truly feels like you're saying goodbye forever to an old friend.

Finally, someone who understands how great worlds smallest violin is

When D&P came out I was going to high school and I still loved Pokémon but didn’t have a DS I remember CN doing a preview of the new series and had the first 3 eps out and after I saw chimchar I was ready to get back in the game. I was lucky that a friend loaned me his Ds and I ended up getting pearl and loving that game and I was excited to have a real challenge with Cynthia. This is before I had easy access to the internet so everything I did on Pokémon up until I think gen 6 I did blindly and I miss those days This was a ramble and not a real comment

the best Pokemon theme songs are the original pokemon theme song, because it will forever be a part of our culture, and the master quest theme song. deserving for two of the best seasons of the pokemon anime

Ok, i have to say. To me, after all the DP openings end, it only has great opening songs, really, BW has AMAZING songs, so does XY/XYZ (to me), just like SM and Journeys, and seeing how low the XY openings AND Journey To Your Heart are gets me more annoyed than you are because of this song, like, how can you even be mad at this opening? Journeys has 3 openings, and to me, ALL THREE should be AT LEAST top 10, and unlike you, i do think that the Ultimate Journeys one is my "least favorite" out of the three, and it's still really good, but like, i have an playlist of Pokémon Openings, that i always listen when i am playing something that i like, and it has ONLY Openings from BW, XY, SM and Journeys, as well as two openings from Advanced, being the first one, and OBVIOUSLY Umbeatable, it's straight up THE BEST opening from the first four gens SO EASILY, like, it's not even close. Since i am not one to be thinking about nostalgia, to me, gen 1 and 2's Openings almost don't exist, like, i actually like the XY Remix more than the original (somehow), just for an example, and gen 4 doesn't have my "favorite openings" either, while Hoenn actually has two amazing openings, and both of them are pretty low here. I know that it's all about opinion, but i've NEVER heard of someone putting Umbeatable THIS LOW, like, it's catchy as heck, it's pretty good, and has a nice song and visuals, nothing insane, but not worth being this low. I respect you a lot because of what you did with the BW and SM openings, and people can have different opinions on some openings, but come on, you can't just put Journey to Your Heart and Umbeatable this low, you literally just can't, it's illegal 🙃

Stand tall is absolutely nothing compared to the Japanese dub's XYZ opening. That one is beautiful. Whilst stand tall is not bad, the Japanese song makes it look real bad.
