I didn't feel pain but just sat here shaking my head and going WTF? To be fair I don't disagree on all of the placings, but some of them were just bizarre, though I do agree on Atom Heart Mother - I love that one as it was my earliest memory of Pink Floyd. On the other hand, calling Comfortably Numb "overrated" is just unforgivable O_O

Don't you like the Live in Gdansk Comfortably Numb too? The extended solo Gilmours did is glorious, and the song actually has and end. Also, the organ keys sounds nice one the back and it's well mastered +The cheering at the end al him saluting and wishing good night The wish you where here version of that show is nice too. I like the Piano solo they added

objectively I think it's ok your opinion. Clearly Young lust includes (if the 12nd is combined) Empty Spaces (damn, together ara crazy, too much underrated for me). I appriciate you put the 6-9 parts of SOYCD over the 1-5, i agree with that. The second late of the vinyl "the final cut" for me is a single song before Not now John. And when I hear this late... no word, just goosbumps. Idk if "time" is overrated or not, but i like your thouts, any colour you like is better for me too. But, in this list ( and i'm in the roger waters's faction) high hopes and coming back to life (pulse) are really too good, and i think u can find a place for these two here. Us and them man, it is a top 10. However, great taste dude.

Maybe consider adding them but i dont get too crazy about rankings anyway, Jugband is one of my favorite songs ever yet i still think that other floyd songs are better or more complete or whatever.

What in the r/pinkfloyd tarnation is going on with the Trial being so high? The Trial utterly destroys the catharsis of The Wall. Album should have ended with Comfortably Numb. All of side four is filler with the exception of the still overrated Run Like Hell.

Personally even though i wouldn't ever listen to speak to me on its own, I think it's an amazing introduction. It gives a piece of every song. Really just shows what your getting into

my personal favourites would be: -Arnold Layne -Take Up thy Stethoscope and Walk -Interstellar Overdrive -Jugband Blues -Careful with that Axe Eugene (Live pompeii version) -Atom Heart Mother -Fearless -Echoes -Shine on you Crazy Diamond (both parts) -Dogs (I prefer the early version named "you've got to be crazy") -What Shall we Do now? (ik technically not on the album but I still count it) -One of my Turns/Don't Leave me now/Another Brick in the Wall pt.3 I'm not personally a big fan of DSOTM since it never really clicked with me, nor am I a fan of their 80s era (if i want good 80s art/prog rock I'd go to King Crimson or Talking Heads) and I loved the earlier days of PF a lot, so I'm definitely biased.

I'm glad to hear someone else say they aren't a huge DSotM fan. It's a great album, don't get me wrong, and it's what introduced me to Pink Floyd, but I've always felt like I *have* to like it more than I do just because it's the "greatest album of all time" or whatever. Again, great album, just there are better PF albums.

My favorite is without a doubt the comfortably numb. I don't know why, but in this song, I feel something I can't describe that I can't feel in any Pink Floyd song. I admire the way you evaluated the songs, the arguments, and the criteria. Success for you.

Yeah, Hey You is my favorite Pink Floyd song and 64 surprised me

For me the top 10 songs would most likely be: 10. Have a Cigar - just a really good song overall, I mostly play it to just chill 9. In the flesh - chose the second version because it's longer, the vocals just do it for me, it really sounds as if it was said by a madman 8. Thin Ice - For me the most biased take, just the solo at the end is magical enough to bring me back to the Wall 7. See Emily Play - I saw it once, didn't bother to listen to it, then started having a really strong urge to listen to it, did it and I just felt like I knew this song my entire life 6. Any colour you like - Really basic but the middle part is a lot of fun and s really good transition beetwen Us & Them and Brain Damage 5. Waiting for the Worms - Kind of the same as In the flesh, but the Comfortambly Numb solo is in the end, also most likely the climax of the Wall 4. Shine on you crazy diamond - I have a lot of fun with it every time a listen to it, really grew to love every single minute of it, the only thing is I constantly switch beetween liking one part over another 3. Run Like Hell - I must admit the 80-81 version really convinced me it's a great song, before it was just an OK transition between In the Flesh and Waiting for the Worms 2. Dogs - Even though I didn't put a single song besides Dogs from it, I really think Animals is the best Pink Floyd album, and Dogs is really the essence of what makes this album so great, I especially like the end, it's just what gives me an eargasm every single time I listen to it, the way Roger sings the "Who was dragged down by the stone?" man, I do not have the words to describe how I love this song. 1. Us and Them - Well, I do think it is the best song overall, I can't say anything bad about it, but just to describe why I love it so much you would just experience what I did, and I really hope you do Have a nice day

This list was a bit controversial but also pretty great. I disagreed with but appreciated the mid placement for division bell and momentary lapse because I really like both albums (especially the former) and loved your placement of dogs and atom heart mother, two of their absolute best. Great list mate, gonna respectfully disagree in a lot of places but also agree on plenty as well

I just realized how much this guy likes Animals, and I completely agree! I have a friend who doesn't like Sheep, and I cannot understand how anybody would feel that way. I'm also glad you rated Atom Heart Mother so high, I love it so much.

the marooned on 117 place just broke my heart

I unironically like Several Species... way better than A new machine for example. And Grantchester Meadows is in my Top 10 personally. But I respect your putting Atom Heart Mother so high. That's my favorite Pink Floyd song.

Weird ranking, though from a mainstream music/hit perspective it somewhat makes sense for slow and more psychedelic stuff to do worse. Pink floyd is definitely album based for the mast part. Also some your takes have me on the floor hahaha

I admire the effort at ranking PF's individual songs. I'd struggle with how to include or rank transitional or segue songs, the instrumental songs off the soundtracks. Plus, I'd likely rank the multi-part songs from Ummagumma together (Sysyphus 1-4 as one track, even if it's sequenced into 4 parts, for example). But I would have included the single and b-sides that were commercially released on Relics. Now, it would get really tricky when you take into account the Early Years 7 volume box--I'd probably just omit those.

My top 5 is probably Time, Pigs, Remember a Day, Paintbox and Echoes in no particular order. It really hurt to see Remember A Day and Paintbox so low but I guess you are a being from space who is never wrong, oh well. My favorites are: -Dogs -Another Brick in the Wall -Pigs (3 different ones) - Atom Heart Mother - Cymbaline - Hey You - Childhoods end - Money - SOYCD - Time (not in any particular order)

The top ten is amazing, more people need to listen to atom heart mother.

First disagreement, Cirrus Minor. Second. Wots Uh The Deal, best song on the album. Caveat, I only like On the Turning Away and High Hopes from the post Waters era so the rest would be way lower for me. Third, jesus christ Fearless is a masterpiece. Fourth Remember a Day. Fifth. Fat Old Sun is my favourite song of all time from my favourite album. Sixth, Hey You, best song on the album imo. Agreement, The Gnome is my favourite on Piper. Seventh, Learning to fly is a borderline pop song, hate it. I'm at Echoes so I'll give my top 5. Fat Old Sun, Atom Heart Mother, Echoes, Shine on You Crazy Diamond(All of it) , The Great Gig In The Sky. This was great, I obviously disagree on many things but I don't think I could do this. I'd get lost in it all.

9:36 thats because on the album its missing its "second part" called What shall we do now, which they played live and it was on The Wall film too. edit: 19:18 well... you gotta link those two together :D

Fun fact: empty spaces feels like a lot was cut off it, because it actually was. Or at least, kinda. This was a short reprise of the song What Shall We Do Now that was cut out, then put in What Shall We Do Now's place when the lp side got too long.

Wearing The Inside Out is TOP 3. Totally underrated.

Comfortably numb is literally a perfect Pink Floyd song wtf are you talking about? It’s a fantastic blend of Roger and David’s talent, it literally incapacitates everything great about the band. From beginning with the dark and eerie presence of Roger’s fading vocals juxtaposed with David’s lush and dreamy voice is literally 10/10 on its own, but it is then complemented by two incredible guitar solos with one of them being considered one the best of all time. So like what more do you need? You can say you prefer other Floyd songs over this, but saying it’s an overrated song is objectively false.

It’s so good

Pf has a place in my ears for whatever mood I’m feeling, few other bands have blessed me in this manner

While being Floyd fan having seen them perform at the Hollywood Bowl right after release of Dark Side OTM, hadn't heard many of these so thanks. Never a fan of "The Wall". Listening to "Money" on my Muntz 8 track in my 62 Nova, through 6x9 Jensen speakers was an amazing experience.

The Wall is an interesting album, but not one of their best. It's almost a Roger Waters solo album (though not nearly to the same extent as The Final Cut) but more than that I think it suffers from having a few too many weak songs. The good stuff on The Wall is absolute killer, but sadly there's way too much filler on there. I think I would like it a lot more if it was a single album rather than a double. Just my opinion - feel free to disagree :) If it were up to me, The Wall tracklist would run like this; Another Brick In The Wall Pt1 Best Years Of Our LIves Another Brick In The Wall Pt2 Mother Goodbye Blue Sky Hey You Run Like Hell Comfortably Numb And of course it would be all the extended versions that they used to play live with the longer guitar solos :) And speaking of solos, am I the only person who thinks that it's crying out for a second solo at the end of Mother?

you say empty spaces isn't good but you like the direction it is going in, it goes directly into young lust. that is the point of most of their "filler bridge" songs. these songs are important to the albums and make the following songs so much better

I love empty spaces so much but I kind of agree it ends before it really starts, this is fixed though if you listen to it back to back with what shall we do now. Together they’re one of my fav parts of the wall 👍

I didn't expect Atom Heart Mother to be at the top of your list. I also like it. If I had to take away one thing from this video it's that you like a variety of songs from many of the albums.

Here as some of my favs: Shine On You Crazy Diamond (both parts) Echoes (also live Pompeii version) Time Have A Cigar Wish You were Here Welcome to the machine Us and Them Dogs Pigs (three different ones) Sheep Atom Heart Mother suite I have more songs i love from the but i these are just a few and my fav Pink Floyd album is Wish You Were Here

At least you were right in one aspect, this list is very divisive. Still, listening to it was very entertaining and enjoyed hearing your comments.

I believe Round And Round actually used to actually just be on the same track as Yet Another Movie, before the Discovery box set came out. Since then, it’s been counted as an individual track for some reason.

You cant tell me you put breathe at #43 and then proceed to put one of my turns at #42. Thats crazy. It just breathe is one of my favorite songs of all time lol but anyways i respect your opinion
