Full disclosure, I’m biased as a Tampa native and Lightning fan, but I’d put Amalie Arena at 9. The area around the arena is fantastic. It’s right on the water, walkable to bars, dining, shopping, and living space. Being outside of the venue on game day is a blast because they project the games onto the adjoining parking garage wall and people come out with their chairs to watch. And the tesla coils are one of the coolest gimmicks in the league. The exterior is very 90s, but it’s almost old enough to where that looks good again.

Can vouch for Tampa being, somehow, a hockey town. My parents still live in the house I grew up in, in south Tampa. When we visited in March there were so many Lightning flags on houses and banners on businesses and license plates and everything around town. Even more than the Bucs. It was shocking. I would have never believed that was possible when I lived there and you could practically go to Lightning games for free.

I agee about the horn and goal song, but the building does have lots of issues. most of them are about how badly people in the upper deck are treated, narrow seats, only half the elevators go there, but 75% of the people that would need an elevator to get to their seats are up there, and there are more bathroom facilities on the club level than and the upper deck despite the previously mentioned ratio to seats between club level and upper deck. Also, he calls it the AmericanAirlines Arena, which is the home of the Miami Heat, not the Dallas Stars and Dallas Maverericks

T-Mobile is outstanding and deserves its lofty place on this list but there's one annoying drawback that you only experience if you go there in person...Specifically, there is only one set of entrance/exit doors. This makes getting out of there a pain, especially if you parked in the Excalibur deck and have to walk back around the building that you should have just been able to walk out the back of.

And Denvers rink is pretty sold. Great place to watch hockey. I really enjoy your video but I think Hockey is a little out of your element because Buffalo, St Louis, Calgary and Arizona should have been all at the bottom. Climate Pledge Arena! The roof is the register of historic places. It opened in 1962 as the Washington State Pavilion or the Worlds Fair. In the shadow of the Space Needle, it was converted into the Seattle Center Colosseum and was the home of the Seattle Totems of the old professional WHL. The Supersonics of the NBA also occupied from 1967. Renovated in the Early '90s to the benefit of the NBA and made it scrappy for hockey. After the Sonics were stolen and went to Oky Shitty it was home to the WNBA Storm. Finally it has been completely rebuilt into Climate Pledge Arena for the Kraken! The NBA says Seattle is on the top of the list for an expansion team, but I say fuck em! Why would anyone want to spend 2 billion for an expansion team that will suck for 20 years!

This is how you tell someone doesn't go to hockey games with actually saying so. Full disclosure, I've been to at least half of the arenas on here. The Saddledome has turned into a dump inside. I was there last season and the Flames not spent much in the way of upkeep inside the building. It's so bad the plastic on the seats doesn't match. You can literally see where they've removed a broken seat and replaced it one in storage. The arena the Panthers play in is way better than most give it credit for. It's only knock is that it's way outside of the city on the edge of the Everglades and is a pain to get to. United Center looks the way it does, because they built it so the exterior would mimic Chicago Stadium. The mark was completely missed on Scotiabank Arena. The building used to be the main post office in the city. Atmosphere is always top notch. The Bell Centre was shoehorned into it's space leading to some of the steepest seats I've ever seen in a lower bowl, not to mention the seats are noticeably tighter than everywhere else I've been to. There's a common theme here with all of his videos, "so and so stadium/arena looks dated". Yeah, but they're functional. Most of us go to games to see the game and couldn't give two shits about all of the blinking lights that attract little kids. How else do you think landmarks become landmarks? By always looking new? Sorta defeats the purpose of something becoming a landmark. I would really love to see what he would have thought if he set foot in any of the grand daddies of stadium lore like Comiskey Park, Chicago Stadium, Maple Leaf Gardens, pre renovation Wrigley Field with it's netting under the upper deck to catching the falling concrete, Boston Garden with it's rats, etc.

Two things not mentioned are the access to the arena and how difficult it is to navigate the path to one's seat. Some of these arenas have restricted access with small entrances or only from one or two sides of the building and the concession areas back up and block access to the aisles. Should parking count?

Another thing about Climate Pledge Arena is that its name isn’t just for show, as it’s the only arena in the world to be zero-carbon certified! The entire arena runs on renewable energy, which is pretty crazy for a building of that scale.

I am a Dallas Starts STH and have been since the opend the American Arlines Center. for the record, it is the American Airlines CENTER, not Arena. the AmericanArilines Arena is In Miami and is where the Miami Heat play. so I am not a huge fan of the AAC, but they did JUST put in new seats all around, and are putting in a new jumbtron this summer. one more plus to the AAC that you mentioned about at least one other building it there is a huge jumbotron on the south side of the buiding with a huge plaza where people can hang out and watch away games. and they often have the home games on the screen too.

Why TF is the American flag over the spot referencing true north!?!?! That makes ZERO sense. Come on Mark Chapman get it together. and of ya, Fire the GM already for gods sake hes GARBAGE!

I'd agree with this, i'm in Edmonton so i'm spoiled. But my gripe about Xcel was the neighborhood. It's in a dump with tents all over the place and homeless all over. Abandoned parking garages too. My wife and I were going to get last minute tickets for the Wild after a Vikings game there and when we got there we turned around and went back to the hotel. Arena looked really nice though.

This list is a joke. The saddledome and Canadian tire centre are bottom of the league venues. Not to mention dropping points because an arena shares with basketball is stupid. If it was something like when the isles played in Brooklyn or the Yotes at america west then i would get it but if it doesnt ruin sightlines or put the scoreboard off in a strange place than it should not be a detractor.

No actually I think of championships at Staples Center, the Kings won there in 2012 and 2014. The Lakers won there in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2099, 2010, then Mickey Mouse bubble title in 2020. Also Lakers lost the 2004 and 2008 Finals there. The Kings definitely deserve respect there, especially since there’s is way more recent. Again Lakers have played in a Finals game or won a championship since 2010! 2020 was entirely in Orlando bubble. And places like United Center opened in 1994, both Bulls (1996, 1997, 1998) and Blackhawks (2010, 2013, 2015) winning 3 championships there, same number they both won at their former home Chicago Stadium (1929-1994), the Bulls (1991, 1992, 1993) and Blackhawks (1934, 1938, 1961). Then TD Garden, another place opened in 1995. Celtics (2008) and Bruins (2011) each won a championship there, while playing in 3 NBA Finals (2008, 2010, 2022) and 3 Stanley Cup Final (2011, 2013, 2019). I think championships bring charm to an arena, and United Center and TD Garden both replaced iconic, outdated facilities and have had success in their new home, that’s a plus IMO. Ball Arena could move up on list if Nuggets win an NBA Championship, so far first NBA Finals there in an arena that opened in 1999. Avalanche won/ hosted 2 Stanley Cups there (2001, 2022). Also called the Lightning arena like AMA-LEE Arena lol, it’s AMA-lay Arena if I’m sounding it out. Also again, little research, if you look closely at exterior of Xcel Energy Center, they have a banner for the GOP Convention with year 2003, the convention was held there in 2008, so my guess is this photo was taken in early 00s, this is in response to him wondering how old the exterior pic is.

@Depressed Ginger I disagree with your assessment of the Xcel Energy Center. It's pretty obvious you have only looked at pictures. The organ for music looks like a Zamboni and you can visibly see the person playing it on one of the corners of the arena. Also, state high schools are represented in the concourse and are visible to fans. They also have other note worthy stuff in it.

The 200 sections of Madison Square Garden are a disgrace. Once you get halfway up you lose the roof and some of the scoreboard. The 400 deck overhang makes you feel like you're watching the game through a door from another room. My wife and our friend waited years to see MSG and told me after the game never to bring them there again. The rest of the arena is probably very good but unaffordable, although they did update the concessions and rest rooms well. And of course the location in the city makes car travel difficult with NYC traffic and poor parking lots.
