One thing I love about Tom & Jerry is that from my experience in 2s, you can either be maximizing your kit to defend your ally and control the entire stage via clever trap placements and player positioning, or running around the stage like a madman trying to hit that stupid mouse whilst juggling every opponent in sight for the perfect follow-up. In my eyes, Tom & Jerry control space; whether they know it or not. So don’t be afraid to switch play styles mid game, they often come with an advantage.

At first, Tom & Jerry was complicated and hard, but now, it’s easily one of my favorite characters and really fun to use.

@@panditas7679 do up+triangle move on the ground. You can just hit them a few times with forward square then quickly do up+triangle or just calculate it from far away.

As a Duck Hunt Main in Smash, I picked up Tom and Jerry because I LOVED the show as a Kid, and I love characters that can take the Fighting Game and turn it into a Obstacle Course. I'm still learning some techs and how to properly play em' but so far I love the kit. Also Tom Screaming is funny to me.

Tom & Jerry are really fun when you get a groove with them The one disadvantage I’ve experienced is not being able to quickly kill but that’s primarily because I play FFA and the lead always runs away like a little bitch

Arya should be hardest simply because she can't cancel her abilities like the rest of the cast, AND her hit boxes are by FAR the tightest in the game. Her combos only work if you land her attacks at specific parts of the attacks, and if the opponent is at a certain percent. She actually has a hard time killing characters once they reach a certain threshholds because her combos stop being true at a certain point, and she can't really kill if she doesn't combo. Tom is a complex character, but you can CONSTANTLY cancel his attacks into dodges/attacks/jumps, making it extremely safe, and the hit boxes for his up air and down air are generous. I would say that someone who has never played the game would have an easier time playing Tom over Arya.

@@Jeaky I have been playing her in duos lately with my friend, and we've been practicing with capitalizing on her long combos. I play her, and he is able to get to me and get an early kill due to how much time he has to read my hits. Also, she is able to dagger her ally which makes some INSANE set ups that can't be prevented, and puts the dagger on virtually no CD. She does have a unique payoff, but is extremely difficult to use. It is absolutely not worth it atm, she is definitely in need of a buff, but I actually think that buff should be in the form of a few things: 1.) Assassin dodges need to go further. They have zero priority (fuck Finn) so their dodges and trickiness in the air is the only thing they can use to outplay opponents. Maybe they could give her an extra air dodge innately. 2.) after making a successful dodge, the I-frames of that dodge need to be increased, and/or allow for another dodge that can start before the initial I-frames are up. This will actually make it possible to Dodge through attacks, which atm, is actually impossible if you are facing a character that isn't Arya simply because they will hit you with their followup before you can do anything, even if you know it's coming.

I like to say that buying Arya and playing first game was amazing for me 😂 I like tech movements since I also play Shaggy, but one tip with her is that you need to keep hitting and not miss or give them a chance to counter

Tom and Jerry is actually really easy to use once you figure out some combos, (Also for those who are struggling you have to utilize throwing jerry in order to become better with the character!)

I been struggling to throw jerry mid combos with all the movement, any tips?

You did a really good job with this. IMO Steven does have a lot of utilities for his partner in 2v2, he has a 3 hit shield that you can apply at any distance by just holding dodge, his neutral special is an easy kill confirm and applies a blast link to your ally (so you can save them from dying), he has a heal that creates another distraction, and he has shields that you can use as platforms. I only play supports (not Reindog) so i try to utilize everything lol

If you maximize Tom and Jerry’s kit, you become an unstoppable force. Especially once you know when and where to aim Jerry and your tennis balls, you can snipe opponents of stage or keep them from being able to touch you. That’s not to mention that he can easily knock players off vertically and horizontally with things line his rockets, up and down smash, Jerry slingshot, tennis balls, his tennis racket (basic attack when you stand still), and even the dynamite if used well.

I don't disagree with Reindog's placement at all, but it's worth noting that despite what you said, he's neither heavy, nor has shielding in his kit. He is in fact the 5th lightest character in the game, tied with Steven. Meanwhile the only thing resembling shielding in his kit (without perks) is the saving people with tether, but obviously that's not the same at all.

As soon as I got my first 3k after getting Fin to lvl 9 I got T&J and after like 10 games it was kinda smooth sailing. Only problem is that it’s hard to kill with him but I mainly sling Jerry to kill or hope the rocket hit

I am not going to lie as soon as I found out Tom and Jerry was playable I picked them immediately and I don't know one or two matches I immediately got how they both worked I guess me watching and playing Tom and Jerry Fist of Fury all those years really paid off!😂

Good video, I liked it. personally, my gripe is that when talking about a character their gameplay wasn't being shown unless they happened to already be on screen.

I just find it so amazing that Tom and Jerry are literally trying to fight each other as you fight your opponent lol

So far my favorites are fin and batman. The bag is OP and the grappel hook on batman is too

In my experience playing Arya she can be such a double edge sword. Obviously she's very easy to kill, but at the same time her light weight allows her to be so oppressive it's almost unfair. While most kill combos do require her dagger to be stuck, even without it she can get some pretty amazing ones with her up special. Learning the combos is extremely hard, but once you do they're very rewarding and fun to use. Also her spike is one of the best in the game and combos very easily into her other attacks, which allows her to be put a lot of preassure in neutral fights without her dagger.

I use Jerry as my sacrificial mouse when using him as a projectile to ring out people +with the right cards it's even more effective

As a Tom and Jerry main I completely aggree, these two are very hard to master, even I struggle sometimes. So I’d like to share some tips on how to use them: at the start of the battle, place a trap with down special and shoot Jerry with neutral, just start shooting balls and hitting them with the racket as fast as you can. When in mid air, use your down air followed by an up air to hit really hard and maybe kill at high damages. Learn how to use the Fishing rod and the grounded UpSpecial because they can be very useful to ledge guard. Also neutral air and the hammer combo are pretty solid. Also a really good build is to use the upgrades that increase projectile speed, cooldown decrease and cause fire when hitting an enemy with proyectiles. The fire and projectile speed are obtained by level up, and you can get the cooldown upgrade cheaper via upgrading Wonder Woman. Both Tom and Jerry’s passives are somewhat situational, so use whichever you prefer.

I have picked up this game 2 days ago and its my first fighting game i really played. I know some theory, like cancelling, combos and stuff but i never played anything like that in my life. I started with Finn cause im a massive AT fan, had like 50% winrate with him, i tried some other meele focused characters but got clapped badly. Then i picked up Reindog. Didnt like it at first, seemed slow af but.. very soon his moveset just made sense to me. Having 3-4 types of traps and projectiles on the screen at once makes me feel very safe and lets me output diagusting amounts of damage. I win so much with him. Currently im on like 15 winstreak. Im saying all that cause yeah i guess character difficulty is very subjective. Maybe juggling uptimes on fireball, tether and shock trap feels natural to me because i have some experience in ARPGs? No idea, but i just /get/ the magic doggo.

if your learning Tom and Jerry I would say just to do 1v1 matches until you get used to his moves as I have noticed one of his issues is that he can only really focus on one fighter

tom&jerry is a menace you try and get close to hit him and he just run's away and goes to try to hit the rocket

Iron Giant is my main and was easy learning all the attacks and using then well, was when i noticed the 2 most scary things to a iron giant main, 1- a assasin character on a 1v1 that knows how to play and 2-2 characters targeting you on a 2v2, i think these are the biggest things to overcome when you use a iron giant

Played Araya now for a while (1vs1 Rank 1400 and level 24) and to learn her is very hard. But if you get her, she is pretty fun to play and strong.

i wouldn’t sleep on garnet, she has hyper armor on some moves, her rhythm charge speed boost is insane, and almost all of her moves, even neutrals are kill confirms

As a Batman main, I mostly agree. It’s pretty easy to land batarang, and also to combo off of for like, at least 20 damage once you get used to his combos. And true, it’s so hard to kill with Batman. Killing off the side is typically not an option. Fortunately, his 2 kill moves aren’t to hard to hit if you react to your opponents shenanigans

Unfortunately for many players the grappling hook is bugged and often sends you flying off the stage instantly. I plan to main him once it's fixed, but for now he's unplayable

Much respect to the list, but it’s all opinion. I am top 500 iron giants and I think he’s super easy to crush the competition with. I wouldn’t say he’s super easy to combo unless you get ganged up on in doubles and your teammate doesn’t do anything. His up special is incredible because you can hit both at once. Same with his down special, and really any of his moves. You also become invincible for 1/2 of his move set. (The sitting portion of the side attack, the moment the meteor connects with ground, and while making contact with an up special.) not to mention his “save the friend” mode where your teammate can jump inside you and shoot at everyone. Keeping them from getting knocked out and gives you rockets/weird plasma ball thing that basically lets you auto knock people.

Iron giant is very punishing with his slow movement and you can be punished because of slow recovery after hits

U missed something on the iron giant one of his moves plants a metal plant and then it will give you an option to eat it. Eating the plant will gives u metal screws. You can use yhe metal screws to use a discharge to hit surrounding opponents and then if you save them up you go into military bot form and you can use the screws to make a discharge of electricity or use the screws to use your hand blaster it's a bit more complex I personally wouldn't put it in easy Oh and also some of his moves may produce a metal screw at chance

That is not what the bolts do at all smh. The bolts are one of his passive abilities that when activated will give him immunity to all attacks until the effect is over. Bolts gather over time but u can speed this up by eating the metal flower or the scrap he throws. The rage meter is not influenced by the bolts at all while it gradually increases when u deal and ur teammate takes damage

I don’t think wonder women is hard to play but I think she a lot harder to be good with then most character mentions after her

I agree with a lot on this list, except for arya. Like you said, she is the lightest character, and is hard to kill with except for her combos, which aren't true at higher percents. A lot of her gameplay also depends on her dagger, and it can be very hard to aim and get a hit in before the dagger disappears. She also has probably the highest skill cap, with insanely difficult combos. I may be a bit biased as an arya main, but I think she should be with tom and jerry in extreme tier.

I am a proud Tom and Jerry main and had no clue what I was doing but now he's so good

Wow i feel dumb now. The first charakters i bought was bugs then velma then tom and Jerry then lebron. Now i have pushed all of the above except lebron to level15, incliding superman and Finn

Totally new to these types of games but of course I start with Lebron one of the hardest 😅 I feel like I’m pretty good at KOs I typically have 2-3 per game, but my biggest downfall is giving damage. I feel like I only ever get around 150, while everyone else is usually 200 plus. Definitely need some more practice!

Tom and Jerry might be the hardest to pick up but he’s also the most cracked, never won against a Tom and Jerry in my life.

LeBron is my favorite I really picked up how to combo quikcly and if u can it shredded opponents

Taz is not really difficult, but it can be difficult to play him against other characters (for now), because of his small range, you must have spacing practiced against these Finns, Jakes, Toms and Jerrys, Bunnys etc.

as a tom and jerry main I wouldn't say its particularly hard to pick them up like I went into my 1st game and I was acc rlly good, the complex bit is the whole jerry thing but its actually not complicated like jerry just stands there while you attack like you always do unless you use tennis balls, rockets and your fishing rod but really that's all

Tom and Jerry are my main character since the beginning, mainly because when I was a kid I always used to watch that show

Can anyone give me advice? I'm a big smash player and main captian falcon and kazuya, would my experience in smash help me in this game if I play it? I'd rather not start from rock bottom in another game.

i love tom and jerry cause they mean a lot to me as i grew up with them and bugs that why they are the only 2 characters ive bought but i really have a hard time playing T&J im still not able to figure them out some times i do the most damage in game some other games im almost useless XD any tips tricks help on T&J would be amazing

I disagree with Jake's position. If you spam his attacks you can maybe play him but he's so hard to master. To play him really really well you need to understand his movements a lot.

as a jake main myself in the process of learning his combos i agree totally for me he's at least moderate tier.

I really have to question if you know what you're talking about when you say you're basically just tornadoing with Taz...

Wow, I main T&J and I didn't even know it was considered hard character.

I was going against a tom and jerry, and oh man...he was so freaking tough, they were getting mad combos on me with the racket ball move and it was so scary seeing them moving so fast and so aggressively, luckily I won but I am now terrified going against that character.

Usually how I deal with with Tom and Jerry (as a bugs bunny main) I try to shoot them in the air using down air then up air to do some air juggling combos on em, and also use the rocket to avoid all of his tough attacks and because his attacks are REALLY REALLY TOUGH, his neutral combo and his up attack is seriously something to avoid. Dodging projectiles from Tom and Jerry is reccomended when having the perk which destroys projectiles when dodged, it would be especially useful if you were in a team.

I also side main Tom and Jerry because they are similar to bugs bunnys attacks so i try using him sometimes.

The funny thing is I was a level one Tom and jerry with no practice and it took me like 10 games too lose a fight I even won as level 1 to vs level 10 Harley also now I have 107 wins on them I also have there taunt and there costume becuse tbh there my main my my fav character mainly becuse of the fact becuse out of all the characters in the game there the funnyest too me
