Same as a kid it terrified me, and even as an adult it’s kinda unsettling, especially that loading dock area outside it just makes me uneasy

Okay I'll be the one genuine comment lol. My personal favorite of the five mansions was Haunted Towers because I used to be obsessed with going to the garden centers at hardware stores as a kid, and that mansion felt like five garden centers, which reminded me of my childhood.

You said that only in the 25th floor awaits a Boss for you, but that's not exactly true. Every 5th floor has a small Boss that can also be quite challenging

I don't see why Old clockworks is that bad. It's a clock factory in a desert. I think it created a very cool athmosphere and the music gives such an impresion

As much as I want to spend 4 hours writing a list with reasoning and an unneccessary amount of opinionated information on each and every one of the 5 mansions, I'm just gonna do my favorite one, which would be... *_DRUMROLL_* The Secret Mine! Second to the Haunted Towers. Okay, so I really love the secret mine. It has an excellent atmosphere and setting, probably the snowy cabin part of it would have given it my favoritism alone. But I really like everything about it. I genuinely am sad the secret mine had less missions than the normal mansions in the game and I wish there was more on it. There has always been a very specific tone and feel it possesses. It really feels like it does not want you in it. It feels angry in your presence. The Chalet always looked like it was an angry face to me. The snowy weather, high up on the mountain surrounded by the trees, it feels isolated. It feels like you're alone and you are always in danger. I love the feeling of aloneness and isolation that you feel walking up to the chalet. It's the details as simple as the hider drawing a creepy smiley face in the frosty window or realizing that you can see King Boo in the background in multiple instances, and you can hear his laughter echoing from the bottom of the airway. Oh also, you can't forget those cute fuzzball things in the chalet. The music as well represents the feeling of being isolated and alone. I've heard from multiple people that the music seems to almost represent insanity as well, almost like cabin fever. I also enjoy the touch of how when E. Gadd calls you while you get increasingly deeper underground, the reception gets weaker, and he starts cutting out. The amount of detail that went into the design is incredibly and beyond my ability of explaining. Enough about the atmosphere, more about the gameplay. I feel like the gameplay in each, and every mission is unique and different. The first one you have to work with the toad, you solve puzzles, work your way across the seemingly bottomless airway, and work your way back up to the chalet pixelator. Then in the second mission, you are introduced to the new "E-gates" gimmick that is used throughout the rest of the game, and a few other occasions in the stage. And then you get to ride down a skipping slope that is a bit of a break from catching ghosts. Do a bit more ghost capturing, go down an elevator with some fun details with the ghosts doing mining operations and a secret gold greenie. Then there is more puzzle solving. However, unlike other mansions that attempt to incorporate puzzle solving into the gameplay, this does not get repetitive or obnoxious. It has a perfect number of puzzles along with the perfect amount of capturing ghosts. Then we are finally introduced to how the ghosts get strong along with the patterns on their body, as well as what E. Gadd means when he says that the crystals have "unique" properties. We are shown that ghosts put inside the red crystals make the ghosts stronger than their original selves. It's great to know finally how that ghost in the Old Clockworks got how they did. Then for the third mission, probably one of the longest ones in the game as well as one of my personal favorites, you have to go all the way across the chasm at the distant workshop. Immediately you are greeted by a puzzle when one of the windows in the chalet have been opened and you need to shut it and melt the ice covering the elevator. It's already something new that we haven't seen yet. Then as soon as you get access to the gondola it's blocked off by three ghosts who go to three different areas of the mansion that you have to hunt down and kill to remove their chains. It's something that we haven't seen before in the game and is a good idea brought to life with excellent execution. Then we shoot out pieces of coal from the gondola out to melt any ice blocking the ability to progress. You can also uncover a few secrets in the process. You make it to the maintenance room, do a puzzle to gain access to the workshop (as well as the camera, but that wasn't the priority, though they still do use it for the final mission). Then Luigi gets snowed in. He is brought back by E. Gadd and then on the final mission, the possessor this time uses a giant chunk of ice as his plan to kill Luigi. It's not something we have seen yet when it comes to boss fights. We've had stairs, we had a giant spider, we've had a clock, but not something as simple as a piece of ice. The fight, honestly, if there's anything to dislike, it would be the fight. It is incredibly difficult when it comes to timings, and it seems kind of unfair to player. The player can remove all the ice from the boss' face, but then miss the bomb shot into its' mouth because of difficult timings. The boss fight is not enough to make me dislike it over any other mansion though. I still really love this mansion out of any others in the game. Here's an extra thing to mention that I think is kind of cool. I remember in the comments section of a video I saw for one of the ghost themes in the Secret Mine (Ghost Theme 10), this particular song had dinging and ringing noises in the background. Perhaps it might be why the place is haunted, but they said that maybe a group of people were at the place, workers, maybe people lived there or something. They said that maybe a snowstorm had passed through the area, and they had tried to call for help but they were killed in it or froze to death in the mines and the said ringing/dinging noises were the group of people's last moments before the sounds cut out and the song ended. It seems rather depressing, but it really makes sense as a possible reason to why the mansion is haunted, and it seems reasonable altogether... Edit: Nope, I haven't played the game in forever, it turns out that geologists used it and then abandoned it once the ghosts populated it. But, however, I like to think that it was an assumption and all the geologists died from a snowstorm lol

Secret mine has always been my absolute favorite second is old clockworks and I agree with everything you said

Let me just say all five of the mansions are amazing. 5. Gloomy Manor (This is still an amazing mansion what ranks it last is just the fact of it being basic. There is just nothing too wild going on here. I also feel like Sticky Situation is a really filler mission. Apart from that it has good music, cool rooms, cool boss and a really nice atmosphere.) 4. Treacherous Mansion (Ok this is gonna be controversial. I still love this mansion. I just feel like it was a bit random without enough structure. Don't get me wrong the atmosphere is amazing and the rooms and missions are really unique. I especially like the bit where u fight the strong boffin on the moon.) 3. Old Clockworks (Amazing missions, completely unique concept, C-2 imo is the best mission of the game. The one gripe I have with his place is that it gets a bit samey after a while. The last mission is also really tedious and the boss isn't my favourite. Like I said I love all 5 of these mansions and this one just sticks out as being completely unique.) 2. Secret Mine (I like how this one is a bit shorter. I think if they had made it normal length then it would have been a drag. Another completely unique concept. I love everything about this place including: the winter theme, The really unique underground chambers and rooms, The amazing boss, The missions are a good length, The slide is super fun, and those are just a few of the reasons this mansion is so great.) 1. Haunted Towers (No matter what anyone tells me this will always be my favourite and ya wanna know why. To me this is almost perfect. I'm being serious I struggle to find a single thing wrong with this place. The missions are unique, The aesthetic is cool, there are some cool ghosts u can only find in this mansion (This is the same for every mansion), I love going into the hollow tree, I love chasing the Polterpup round the mansion. Another thing worth mentioning is I hate the Garden Suites in Mansion 3. Why couldn't it be more like this. If I had one tiny complaint it would be that the boss isn't my favourite.) Let me know what u guys think.

@@37301 I don't think you'll have to hack it. It at least works on local multiplayer, and it certainly works in single player.

One thing that i dont agree on is the old clockworks although i would not rant it as the best it does not deserve 6th place ( gloomy manor is my favorite) it introduces lots of new stuff and has its own unique challenges to complete it introduces a brand new ghost which is the brain but its blue and has telekinesis abilities. The possesor fight is also very creative as you have to fight lots of different ghosts in 12 different stages in which the possesor ghost appears every 4 stages. The story overall is also great. You have to find to two different clock hands and there both located in different places which provides a challenge. It also introduces mummies which also appear in later masions. What i also like about all the luigis masion daek moon mansions is that comparing it to the first one its much more creative as it brings new things in each mansion. The old clockwerks also really brings that desert vibe out with ots music which is why i like it so much. So in my personal opinion i would rank it at 2nd with the gloomy manor at first.

Yeah, I completely agree with this list besides the placement of the Scarescraper. I've played both versions of Dark Moon, (2HD nowadays) and I always thought that taking on the Scarescraper was fun. I think it's better than it was in Luigi's Mansion 3, although the boss ghosts are notably better in 3. But, compared to the rest of the mansions, I can understand why it's No. 6, but I'm just saying that I'd rather play an hour of Scarescraper than an hour of Old Clockworks. Secret Mine for the win!

Haunted Towers would be Poison Ivy Towers if translated from German back to English

My favorite mansion setting wise is the old clockworks because I like old factory themes, and I like gears or something. I think the setting does do something with the dessert in a way that actually makes me like a dessert level, but I never played the game so I could not like the level.

The Old Clockworks is my fav too. Especially it’s music, just that pipe organ and harpsichord just are perfection

As much as I love the secret mine's aesthetic, during my first playthrough the boss gave me so much trouble, that it kinda just ruined the whole mansion for me.

SO, just off the bat with the Scarescraper, the main goal of it is to collect all the boss ghost. I've played both 2HD and Dark Moon, and I know that you can play scarescraper alone, even with the Nintendo networks shut down on the 3ds. You can even still play multiplayer on the 3ds Scarescraper without any mods/external connections. It's the same way in 2HD now. Also, I think Secret Mines deserves better. The bossfight was amazing, the difficulty was perfect for that point in the game, the music is the best song (besides A-3's miniboss music) and the puzzles were creative and fun. If only it had the normal seven levels, it would be perfect. They could've done so much more with Secret Mine, and that's why it's my favorite mansion in the game, but I understand how some people could struggle with the boss, and it only having five levels sucks too.

One of my only complaints about the clock area is getting into the mansion

Well, I always thought that Dark Moon's Scarescraper was better, although I can respect that it does look prettier and the Boss Ghosts are more creative. However, it's the modes that really do it for me, and it essentially comes down to Toad Hunt vs Polterpup hunt, and I like neither.

5 old clockworks 4 gloomy manor 3 treachrous mansion 2 haunted tower 1 Secret mine ❤

My top ranking so far, as I have not played the last two mansions yet. Will change list when I do. 5th/4th. Secret Mine: The environment of being in a snowy area with an underground mine is very cool. The problem is that this mansion is too short, with only 3 missions before the boss mission, why is that? Is it due to memory limitations? Anyway, a smaller issue with this mansion is its smaller map size and the fact that there aren't many surprises. Besides knowing the source of the strong ghosts and the chained ghosts, there honestly anything new the mine offered. The Boss was cool, but rather easy. The only challenge is when the Possessor rams you and gets a cheap hit in, forcing you to reset and try again. It's a cheap way of making players trying harder. The gems were between being fun to collect to being annoying. 5th/4th. Gloomy Manor: Too basic. It's basically the Original Luigi's Mansion, but Much smaller and less scary. While it's understandable that wanted to play it safe here, there are not that many surprises to raise it beyond introducing the main cast of ghosts and mechanics. The boss is both fun and annoying, fun if your not seeking a three star rank, annoying if you are. Like the Secret Mine boss, you are on a fragile requirement list that if you get hit at least a couple times or once from the queen or the Possessor, then you basically have to restart. The spiders are super annoying to dodge as they can land on you when your walking, requiring unpredictable movement to dodge them. It's not terrible, but it's overshadowed by the other Mansions. I put both It and Secret Mine 4th and 5th because I keep changing my mood which deserves each placement. Worst Level: Mission A-5, it felt like a waste of time, why did I need to clean up the spider webs when we could've just gone to the celler? 3rd, Haunted Towers. The main gimmick of the Towers are water, plants, and balloons which is well executed here. The downsides of this level is that some of these missions are long if you tend to get a 3 star ranking and you don't really want to spend the same amount of time redoing the level, the way the mansion is structured makes it tougher to navigate. Another con is that the Boss of this place is so pathetic that the long hill of stairs was more of a challenge than it. It's easily the worst boss of the game. 2nd, Old Clockwork. Besides Mission C-4, all of the missions were pretty good and bring a good amount of variety and humor to the mix. The gems are spread apart per mission with 3 gems each, barring C-4 which has no new ones and C-6 with only 1, making it easy for players to organize what gems are in what mission. The gems are so and so in challenge to find them. The boss was a decent challenge, it doesn't have the cheap requirements like the Spider Queen or the Ice face levels due to the much more abundance of gold to add to the score, so you can take more hits. The Mansion brings many new surprises into the mix, and it gives the first hint on who's behind the destruction of the Dark Moon, although Egadd and luigi should've known from the start when they see all of those boos. 1st, Treacherous Mansion. This mansion is very good, it combines the aspects of the previous 4 mansions, but gives them a twist so while they are based off of these mansions, they have their own unique twist that make them stand out. Such as the Dark ages exhibit (Gloomy Manor) and the Ancient Temple area (Old Clockwork). Each individual room is a different exhibit which are very fun to look around in. Barring the hallways, the main entrance, the terrace, and the stair area, all the rooms are different from one another. The biggest grace this mansion gives are the portals which make traveling around the mansion much easier, the portals also serve as a creative way to solve puzzles and get gems. The missions are nice and long and you explore different areas each time you play. As a consequence, due to their length, if you fail to get a 3 star, then you have to play the missions over again. Luckily the missions are sorta generous with this. Speaking of the gems, they are fun to collect, although, the last 4 being hidden way up on each exhibits roofs can be annoying for first timers and I had the same feeling when I replayed the game. How were we supposed to know that The desert and forest areas had upper levels? The boss was fun to fight and it's the 2nd best Possessor fight.

I don't want to criticize you but your wrong I still play Luigi's Mansion 2 and I go to scarescraper and I go to online I was waiting for people to join and I thought it was impossible but I until people started to join and I had a full lobby I was shocked and yes people STILL play in 2019

Ok, 1st, you can play Scarescraper on your own. You have to go to Lecal Play, Create Tower, pick whatever modes you want and then press A to start the round. This will also work when NOBODY is in. 2nd. I play Luigi's Mansion 2 A LOT Online and there are many more people online that you said. Heck I have the feeling that there are more than in LM3, and that says something... 3rd. There is a Boss in every 5th floor, not just the 25th. I'm starting to wonder if you've EVER tried Scarescraper. That bugs me hearing all of this "wrong informations" because Dark Moon is my favourite game of all time. I still like this Video, don't get me wrong, but these small things just really bug me...

You can play the scare scrapper offline by yourself on the 3DS version I know this because I just did it

Yes I can agree most of the bosses in Dark Moon are way better than some of the Original Bosses

why has luigi mansion 2 6 mansions and the other's just 1 massive one becouse its the best in the series in my opinion!

Comments for this video: This video sounds like you struggled to come up with points because you haven't played the game for a while. 1:08 Umm, it's not a multiplayer only mansion, you can play it solo. You click on local play, select a tower and mode, and enjoy. Have you even tried to play it by yourself before making this video? Given how you went to the mario wiki to get information on Old Clockworks instead of actually playing the missions themselves...I assume you started making this video at least a week or more after you were done playing. 1:58 Every 5th floor has a boss ghost you fight, and on the 25th you take on the final boss. Still didn't do any studying besides some hazy memories of playing it before huh? 2:15 Not really lol, that title belongs to Gloomy Mansion as it is the most basic of the basic. 2:38 Yes it does. It introduces the mummies, The Ancient Poltergeist that is a good challenge if your not careful, Introduces the concept of stronger versions of previous ghosts, Robombs, and lastly gives a hint for the protagonists on who's controlling the ghosts. 2:48....Isn't that what the general structure of the game's missions are? The previous 2 mansions had you go collect stuff as well, nothing new here. The previous mansions had you collect your vacuum, Gears, Dark-Light bulb, Pinwheel Vanes, and a Key. What's so different here? What matters however, is how fun these fetch quests are. Besides Mission C-4, the missions of Old Clockwork were really fun. 3:04 Won't work, as E-Gad doesn't know how the clock door is built and it will also take him longer then its needed to build new parts, resources I presume he doesn't have. 3:13 You do, you would've known this if you replayed the game first or go to the wiki. Honestly though, it seems that your judgement on Old Clockwork is poorly thought out and you put it in last because you have poor memory. Literally all your point's against it are easily countered. Edit: Now that I played the last two mansions, I can comment on them now. 4:08 to 5:03 From what I've heard from listening to this, it sounds like you were struggling to make up points why you prefer Secret Mines over Old Clockworks. 4:26 Why are you thankful that the mansion is short? 4:22 Why do you find it more enjoyable than Old Clockworks? You say all these things about secret mines compared to clockwork, but you never say why you prefer so. It doesn't have many surprises compared to Clockwork, with the only relevation was where the source of the super powered ghosts came from. 4:48 How is toad more bearable in the Secret Mine here than Clockwork? You never gone over him there so this point falls flat. 5:02 You keep saying you like the theme alot, but you never elaborate on it. Honestly a written script before hand could've helped, alongside greatly increasing the length. 5:12 While this is more of an opinion then anything, I strongly disagree with you here. The Boss itself never attacks you other then when you taken off all the ice pieces protecting it, and even then, the attack can easily be stopped by shooting a bomb into its mouth. The only challenging part of this fight is that you can't get hit once, otherwise you'll lose the 3 star ranking. When the possessor is tougher to fight then the main boss, then something is wrong here. The only reason it's above the Haunted Towers boss is because that boss is even easier then this one. 5:25 While that fear is understandable, the thing is with scripts is that you put effort into expressing yourself. Write down notes as to where you should start expressing yourself more or lower. A script isn't simply a dialogue of words, you also need to put quotations around these segments to let the actor know what to do at that time. 5:45 to the end. Basically your saying that Gloomy Manor is better than Clockwork and Secret Mine because it plays it safe, is basic, and that it reminds you of the mansion of the previous game. Huh? 6:25 Old Clockworks isn't trash, as I deconstructed above :p. 7:06 This is very true. It introduces the core concepts of the game, but is this really enough to have it be above Clockwork and Secret Mine? 9:06 And thank goodness these portals exist, because the missions for this mansion can be super long. 9:53 Grind? You had to grind for upgrades to beat the enemy rush? Have you been skipping over a ton of treasure throughout the whole game and been speedrunning it? Because normally you would've gotten all the upgrades by like the 3rd mansion, I got the last upgrade by the time of the 2nd mansion because I explored to get all the treasure and get the 3 star rankings. How many upgrades did you get before having to grind? And how many gems and boos did you find? Well, that's it for all the commenting. I skipped over Haunted Towers and most of Treacherous Mansion because they have the same problems as the rest of the review and would be redundant to point out. The biggest problem of this video is how incredibly short it is, only 11 minutes to go over and rank 5 Mansions, which really doesn't give you enough time to go over them, which as a result, you struggled to try make points that are generalized for the mansion in question. The lack of a good script means that you never go into detail as to why you feel that way. It was for the 2nd reason that made me think that you hadn't played the game for months or more, contrary to what you said. With this new information, I'll have to ask, why did you make the video so short to the point you had to condense the reasons for putting the mansions where they are at? Did you not want to make a decently long video? Or did you feel you couldn't express how you felt about the individual mansions?
