RIGHT??? Anchorman 2 was awful. And he says the trans jokes didn't age well? At least they're funny, unlike all those cringe inducing black jokes in Anchorman 2.

Jim Carrey not being nominated for an Oscar for The Truman Show is the reason I stopped watching awards shows.

Completely agree! One of my favorite films. Although I never watched it until we talked about it and was played in a philosophy class in college, back in 2005. Became a favorite since.

I stopped watching them when the most mediocre, but large budget, film I'd seen in years somehow made a billion dollars and beat out L.A. CONFIDENTIAL for BEST PICTURE..... yeah... YOU know the one...

Me and my friend used to rewind that scene over and over and over on the VHS. The movie itself isnt as good as the original but theres a few scenes (Rhino and the monopoly guy even. lol) That are some of the funniest physical comedy ever. But I mean... football in slow motion reverse was also SO GOOD in the original.

The fact that Cable Guy is so high just about makes up for the lowballing this list gave How The Grinch Stole Christmas.

I recently finally watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and I was blown away.

I'm sad that The Number 23 wasn't #23 on the list. For shame, Jules. Also, this list surprised me into realizing the Carrey might be one of my all time favorite actors for some of the movies he was in. Truman Show, Eternal Sunshine & The Ace Venturas are among my all time favorites.

There is so much comedy in that film. When people sat in theaters watching it, there's was loads of cracking up. It's easily his in his top 5... what kind of silliness is this list with that and all these 1 minute cameos being called "Carrey films"

The Mask is my favorite Dark Horse Comics property next to Sin City and Resident Alien and the bunch thanks to good ol' James Carrey

Jim Carrey as the Riddler is one of my all time fave Batman villains- I know a lot of people wished Robin Williams had done the role but Jim brought the manic rubber band energy Edward Nygma needs on the big screem

For me, when nature calls is one of the more quotable movie he’s made. Defo have it higher than #28. You are right though the birth through the bank end of a mechanical rhino is the funniest thing ever (maybe closely followed by the manipulated news reader scene in Bruce almighty with Steve Carell)

Ace Ventura : Pet Detective will always be the no. 1 Jim Carrey film in my books

I preferred When Nature Calls to the original. The fight scene with the native was hilarious. Also, it introduces the idea that Carrey hates bats ... hmmm.

Actually, Batman Forever came out before When Nature Calls, if that is what you’re referring to.

In my opinion, Jim Carrey does better in zany, cartoony, and funny performances, not the serious ones. My favorites being How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Cable Guy, Batman Forever, Dumb and Dumber, and Sonic the Hedgehog. Also I wonder, what if Jim Carrey played Deadpool?

If Eternal Sunshine was a bit funnier, and epic, I would agree. But Truman was legendary. Both are great, but I would say Eternal was more plot perfection, while Truman was just all around movie perfection

How the hell can you say that Pink Cadillac is "forgettable?" It's one of his best movies that wasn't one of his more gritty and violent ones. It was actually very funny (funnier than most of Adam Sandler's shit that he peddles nowadays yet makes loads of money on) and Clint Eastwood was still great in the part and had some incredibly funny moments, and Bernadette Peters was also hilarious! You might find it forgettable, I think it was still one of his best films!

I like it too. Mostly for Bernadette Peters.

“Earth Girls Are Easy” is best remembered for its soundtrack, including a very good remix of Depeche Mode’s “Route 66,” the Jesus and Mary Chain’s cover of “Who Do You Love,” and the B-52’s “Cosmic Thing.” But the best song is Julie Brown’s hysterical “Cause I’m a Blonde.” Her performance of it in the film is easily the best scene IMO.

"Earth Girls Are Easy" began as a song on Brown's E.P. "Goddess In Progress". Brown was initially supposed to star in the film, but ultimately played a supporting role. "'Cause I'm A Blonde" was also included on "Goddess...".

Yeah, great list. Pleased to see Carrey getting his due - I've always balked when people tell me Carrey is not a good actor. Sure, I get he's not everyone's cup of tea, but you can't deny that when he gets it right, shit he gets it right! Cheers Jules!

Didn't even get halfway through the list to pit a like on this one! Great list! It is hard to decide between Truman and Spotless Mind for the top spot. Knew it would be one of the two. Loved the mention of the Rhino scene being a roll on the ground funny moment. For me, that was always my favorite Ace Ventura scene between the two films. Takes me back, gotta love Jim Carey! 🤣

Both Ace Ventura movies should be higher. And really none of these 2 minute cameos should be on here. Those aren't Carrey movies.

"Man On The Moon" fully explained Andy Kaufman to me (before the internet, but was the only thing easily available on TV/cable other than "The Man From Hollywood" that Comedy Central would routinely run about his (lLEGENDARY) run in Memphis with Lawler. However...... I remember being engaged (single now), and that part towards the end of "Bruce Almighty".... duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude.... that hit my emotions.

I thought I'd missed Peggy Sue Got Married and backed it up to the 30s and 40s. Pleasantly surprised it made the top 10 😊

What is number one? Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind or The Truman Show? Yes.

"Once Bitten" co-starred Karin Kopins. I had a huge crush on her back in the 80s. She was in a big commercial before this movie...I can't remembver what it was for.

Wish you listed this as "Carrey's roles" since Kidding is a tv (or streaming) series, and Jim totally killed it in the first season, and kept the Quality in the second.

Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind's Michael Gondry is the one behind Kidding. A fantastic series, I think Carrey let all his stuff out for that series and only then he was ready to go back to his regular self (sonic)

Me myself and irene is literally the best jim carrey movie. One of the funniest movies ever made. It takes risks but its fucking hilarious.

I really LOVE Eternal Sunshine, Bruce Almighty, and The Truman Show. All of them were great movies! Also, please don’t judge me, but Once Bitten was my first introduction into the zaniness that is Jim (especially that Halloween dance scene with Erin Grey and Lauren Hutton was hysterical) and I totally had a crush on him after that roll. (It was the 80’s! 🙄) May Jim be blessed, always.

Once Bitten is the first I saw with Jim Carrey back in 1986 as a little kid, and have love him ever since. It should be way higher on the list than it is. Number 1 in my opinion is the first Ace Ventura Pet Detective movie and number 2 is Dumb And Dumber.

Absolutely no doubt about number 1. How The Truman Show isn’t regarded as an epic movie is beyond me. No groundbreaking at the time. And Carrey was phenomenal.

Jim Carrey is the closest actor we have left to the late, great Robin Williams. This video helps point that out. I can think of no other actor that has nearly the same energy or range. While he is no Robin Williams, he is very, very good.

No way I love you Phillip Morris ranks higher than the Grinch, Ace Ventura, Yes Man and most importantly BRUCE ALMIGHTY

I don't know how the Sonic movie is so underrated. It's easily the best video game movie of all time. While the plot feels a little weak at times and the dialogue a little cheesy, it's still hilarious and super fun.

"Once Bitten" is actually a pretty entertaining and enjoyable movie. I saw it ciatrick lie when it was first released, before Jim Carrey was a big star..... you could tell there was something about him.... I remember most clearly the line: "I don't want to be a vampire, I'm a DAY person"😄

Funny that I only saw six of his starring movies. It's just that so many of his films have had a cultural stamp that you run into bits and pieces of the film and remember them whether you saw the movie or not.

#43 reminds me of Jack Nicholson as a maybe-oblivious dental patient in the original Little Shop. He's featured and he's funny, but he only does one scene. And his name's in big letters on the video re-release box.

Giving Man on the Moon the respect it deserves! Eternal and Truman Show are just two power house movies. I think a lot of people really missed the mark on what makes Carrey special. That human element. Those two movies shine by showing it.
