I think the problem with the Byleth scene is that the scene they used from TH fits in the context of TH, but not so much as a character trailer. Cause in TH everything had been building up to that confrontation and Byleth fully having the power of God and Anime on her side was a big deal. It also came at the end of a map so the pacing fits the wind-down period. But Smash trailers aren't wind-down moments, they're suppose to be hype and explosive. Also mixing the serious tone of the scene with the kind of sillyness of Smash didn't mix too well. Although, "Joining smash consumes even the darkness itself" flows over into "So Bad It's Good" territory. Bonus points for Byleth turning into a woman because there were too many Swordsmen in smash. That joke went over too many peoples heads.

Sephiroth is still my favorite revealed character. I mean this dude literally one shot the final boss and then went to town on everyone. Also that DUN DUN DUN DUN when he cuts the final boss in half is freakin god like (no pun intended).

That trailer was lit

I ended up being very underwhelmed by Byleth’s reveal, but now they’re my favorite character to play and by far my best

My favorite reveal was Sephiroth

I main Byleth too. But... to be honest... the trailer was very underwhelming... However, I'd like to say it would've helped A LOT if people weren't expecting to be a smash reveal trailer (like Pythra reveal with Xenoblade) So people would be like "Huh? Is this FE3H DLC?" "Wait a minute! This can't be Byleth in smash right?" Looking at all the reaction videos on youtube, they were totally bored after the opening scene. "Oh It's Byleth... another swords character" The conversation with Sothis "You have no other choice... but to JOIN SMASH" had no suspense at all. I was kinda heart broken tbh

as a byleth main, i just loved that we were getting another waifu, the trailer itself is meh, when mitrha and pyrrah came, i was already too invested in byleth, palutena was my previous main

Rank them the way you want. Just know, Byleths trailer was the worst. It was the most boring one and they tried to jebait in a smash direct. It just didn't work. Joker and pyra did it better.
