When the Putrid avatars do their butt-slam, if you dodge roll diagonally forward, you can avoid the rot mist and continue attacking. Makes them a LOT easier, and more fun. (I typically go for the dragonbarrow avatar super early for the easy runes)

I want to do a "Demon" Ranking at some point. Like every official "Demon" in the series (though I'd have to be a bit careful otherwise I'd end up having to rank the entire Demon's Souls roster)

1:14 ok, so its worth mentioning that there are 2 ways to get to the Consecrated Snowfield Avatar: 1st is the route you showed in the footage where you ride from Ordina Leturgical Town, which has more enemies on it but has better visibility, and the 2nd is through a waygate in the first half of the Snowfield, which is guarded by a pack of wolves led by a Red Wolf AND has poor visibility. Hope this helps to clear up the memories of it being blizzardy here 6:10 similar deal to the previous one, you don't actually need to go from the Ancestral Followers ruins to get to the Northeast Liurnia Avatar. You can drop off a cliff right next to the Frenzy Flame Village outskirts site of grace to immediately fight him with a more convenient angle to start from, since you can ignore the followers who are waiting in front of the Avatar

Uhh.. so. I find the Putrid Avatars better than normal Avatars. Primarily cause of the ror buttslam. So ig a lot of people got used to running away from the buttslam due to older souls games, but the Putrid Slam can be strafed and rolled to either side, since the rot spray is only in front of him. What this means is that when mastered, you can be significantly moee aggressive, to the point that at a low level I managed to stance break tge Dragonbarrow Avatar like 3 times with powerstanced daggers.

Mm I was definitely skeptical of the #1 pick at first but you won me over. Also, the first video I ever saw of yours was the DS1 Bonfire ranking over a year ago, so seeing a meme ranking like this again is great. Loving the content as always!

I love that you always use the "get off the stage" hook... or the darth maul lightsaber as weapons.

The thing about the erdtree avatars is that in concept there great but I feel like if they made 4-5 different types ( for example one that does poison one that does fire & maybe one that does frost depending on the area you find them ) that would much better

Dragonbarrow avatar is good for early game runes if you can beat him. I beat him at level 32 with nothing but a +3 greatsword and a dream

Not to mention, he is a short walk away from Greyoll, which is another really good source of early game runes. Gotta love Dragonbarrow's fucked up difficulty scaling enabling comical amounts of levels in the early game

I get what you mean about rot it would have been nice have something other than pumping 12 faith into a build to use flame cleanse me. Opaline bubble tear is also my go to in my build which is why weeping peninsula is always my first stop avatar as twiggy tear is so late game. Great video really enjoyed this one can’t wait to see what’s next

Unnecessary „tip“: The Northern Liurnia avatar can be reached easily from the Frenzy Village which has a Sacred Tear as well for the trouble. At least that’s the way I always take whenever I need more non-fire ele damage.

I am very thankful to you sir, that you dedicated a 20 min video to this very important tier ranking. I will return your dedication in kind by presenting my ranking. I do like the Erdtree Avatars. They are very easy bosses, but I think that's what's good about them. They are there to build you up when you think the game is too hard. You encounter an Avatar, you beat it with relative easy and al is well. I have played this game a lot, so the quality of loot, time/convenience to reach and the boss being as little annoying as possible is are mot important to me. 1. Consecrated Snowfield Putrid Avatar: The Thorny Cracked Tear is a very sweet crystal tear for the right build, also an easy 160 000 runes. He is not that far out of the way, especially not if you did the Snowfield Skip like me for a long time bc. you didn't want to fight/learn Commander Niall and ride around collecting the Medallions. Also he can be reached via a teleporter near a Red Wolf enemy on the right side of the snowfield which is easy to navigate to and gets you pretty close to Ordina, which is my main destination in the snowfield. 2. Dragonbarrow Putrid Avatar: I encountered this guy very early in my first playthrough which definitely left an impression and it is a neat fight for repeat playthroughs bc. of the good loot (the oppaline hardtear is basically perma slotted in on my NG+7 character)/runes and how generally easy the fight is. 3. Weeping Peninsula Avatar: Maybe the first boss I beat in the game, so defo memorable, not so interesting on repeat playthroughs though. 4. Liurnia Northeast: Indispensable loot on builds that have primarily elemental dmg. Can also be reached going from the dectus lift past the Sauron-Eye and the dropping down, which is way faster. 5. Caelid Putrid: I rarely fight him, but definitely good loot and a fun early game encounter. 6. Mountaintops Darklurker Avatar: Cool gimmick, but quite out of the way and uninteresting loot. 7. Elphael Wall Avatar: Dealing with the Rot-Spray and the homing projectiles on the small bridge is quite annoying, which leads me to often burst this enemy down which is never a good sign. But he guards really good loot with the Ancient Somber Stone and Marikas Soreseal. 8. Leyndell Avatar: Similar as above the arena makes the encounter annoying, but here it is worse, since his only loot is runes, which can also be collected by the Crucible tree Knight just down the road which is a fight so much cooler, that it sours the Avatar encounter for me, and I almost always skip it. 9. Elphael Grace Avatar: Placing the two Haligtree knights alongside this guy is evil, since they are formidable opponents in their won right, but it is a least memorable with how hard and a little but unfair it is. 10. Deeproot Depth; I always forget this guy exists, I rarely go to Deeproot, and if I do I go through the sewers and Fake-Mogh to avoid the gargoyles for obvious reasons, so I always go past him, and I don't feel the urge to go back and fight him. 11. Southwest Liurnia: Even more forgettable than the previous entry and in a corner of the map I almost never go to. Traveling through Liurnia, however beautiful it is already takes to long, I can't be bothered to seek out this fight, bc. the loot is trash and the fight the same as every other Avatar.

The fact that the duo variant isnt the worst is a crime I no joke died more times to that boss than some of the main story bosses EditITS FIRST WHAT THE FUCK

I've never died to it, mainly due to killing while it's splitting. So I'd place it somewhere in the middle...

I Was Wondering IF There was Avatar in a Dungeon Level... Like Cave, Mine, Catacomb, or Heroe's Crave... If It's Between, Catacomb, and Heroe's Grave... Probably, Heroe's Grave, Cause, It has Bigger Room.

I think with the Halegtree one I peppered it with damage from afar. Dont remember the exacts tho since I only visited the area once to beat Rot God

The dragonburrow is my favorite brcause you get more runes from that boss than killing Greyoll actually. Super easy kill at the start of the game as the rot doesnt hit behind the avatar when it butt slams. Just roll behind it when it lands & use charge heavy. Every class will get a stagger into crit ever 4-5 charged attacks even without levels. My favorite thing to fight on a fresh character

Scarlet Rot just does not feel good to deal with in a video game I agree. I get that it is hard and that is the point of Souls but it is not that fun kind of hard, it is more tedium and just annoying. If I have to hike a mountain I would rather be chased by a pack of wolves than have it infested with mosquitos. I can learn to avoid with wolfs but the mosquitos _will_ bite me, I can not deal with them.

You could get better damage by just putting the Black Flame Tornado AOW with a modification to make it either scale better with dex or make it flame art so the AOW deals more damage as well as lettint you use faith to scale it.

I'm a casual player, so I don't really know how to create a fully optimized build. That includes my weapons - I'm very comfortable just getting them to their highest smithing state and that's it. Like... I honestly forget that affinities exist.

Getting black-flame tornado requires beating Godskin duo, so if you want to use the AOW, you have to leave it unaltered until then

Dragonbarrow should be done early game because it's an easy boss, weak to fire and drops a ton of runes plus one of the best offensive cracked tears. Defense boosting tears are immediately invalid, Offense > Defense all the way

Tbh my first play through I absolutely HATED these guys (I was a mage too sooooo there's that) and they scared me! After my third character I realized just how fun they were to fight. They are genuinely mini bosses I look forward to dueling with! Also maybe a very unpopular opinion I really liked the putrid avatars (imo the worst is actually the one in the elphael inner wall, just fromsoft why???) after I learned how to circle the rot and holy lasers. Great vid btw!!

F tier, all of them. Actually, no, the duo one gets an F- because it's a lazy half gank. I get that it's a tribute to Asylum Demon (technically Vanguard but the moveset ya know) but that's the thing, DS1 came out in 2011, you can't make a moveset that old thrilling for more than a few tries. Gee I wonder why DS3 only had stray demon instead of 10.
