I actually liked that with the OG art, felt like a mythical name to a shiny beast thats not completely understood and the heavy stylized drawing and shading really sold it. Then in the anime it was just fucking blue.

I was considering buying one, but the price on TCG player, for a heavily damaged copy, was 40$ freaking bucks. 😢

Honestly the starter deck is soo true the nostalgia seeing blue eyes on the front cover of the box and just how majestic the image is it's everything blue eyes is and should be

yes! a few years ago I threw away a bunch of money for a beautiful sealed starter deck Kaiba, just so I can take it out of my closet once in awhile and appreciate the nostalgia from when my mom bought my brother and I the decks back in 2002. my brother picked Yugi bc he identified with his character or something, I wanted Kaiba because I love Blue Eyes lol

My favorite is the jump promo. It's absolutely beautiful and I love the design choices made with it.

The OG artwork is my favorite hands down. This is also the Blue-Eyes that I send out to my buddies from over the years

I am so sick of the Tablet Blue-Eyes. The art is so mediocre. I hate that Konami keeps using it for all the games like in MD. Please. Just give us the OG art... I am begging you.

Same goes for dark magician nothing against that artwork it's just overused. I prefer the one from Yugi's starter/structure deck with the magna warrior cards tbh but I really want more purple dark magician artwork or does this mean there are three dark magicians the purple, the red and the green skin one.

@@Tomy_Lightning I always thought it is really weird how the most iconic look for Dark Magician is the purple look from the anime, yet every depiction of them, be it alt art or on other cards, is always the green skin/blue robe version

@@KinzokuDrummer I mainly hate how the tablet artworks have become the default, the green skin is the manga dm as the green skin artworks are usually taken from the manga making him manga Yugi's dm then there is purple which is anime Yugi's dm the red one which is Arcana's dm is the regular dm in the anime (since Arcana has multiple and we only ever see one purple dm) with Yugi's being special due to Mahad there's also dsod dm which is either updated manga dm or updated anime dm and now we have a new "support" dm card dm the ebony sorcerer which is basically a golden version of dm.

Personally I like DSOTD artwork its just Majestic more then it could get.

Gotta be the dimension one for me, he's actually white, and of you have the gold one from the movie its actually crazy how good it shines.

I prefer dsod artwork personally As it's more accurate to its name of "blue eyes" and white dragon

Shonen Jump promo is definitely my favorite it just looks awesome I would love to have a place that but they are like $80 last I checked

The og one is the best and nobody can say anything about it. If it looks like one of those old 2009 cards that are darker than todays cards that’s even better

I got into Yu-Gi-Oh! late because my mom was a christian who didnt like the idea of it. I watched up to the cyberverse and a lot of GX. I've got to say, you've brought back my love for this series! I love your videos!

Number 5 I always imagined Blue Eyes standing atop of Alcatraz from Battle City.

From a nostalgia standpoint I agree with the original. But from a design/art perspective I like #2-3 a lot more. And I like the galaxy background on the #3 actually. Even if it’s “odd” it looks stunning regardless

The DSOD version is the best. The OG version always looked strange to me. Blue eyes looks great on the tablet version, but the dumb tablet stinks it up.

Dumber 5 and 3 are really elevated by the background not being a random photoshop filter. Roaring on top of a tower or flying through the night sky instead of posing in a void looks much cooler.

I've never even seen some of these Blue Eyes artworks

The Legend of Blue Eyes art is 11/10, will always be my favourite art.

Fun Fact: The original Blue Eyes white dragon art pre-dates the actual card game. As Konami’s first Yu-Gi-Oh video game was Capsule Monsters when Season 0 was airing. This game was a Japan only release but it came with some Cards that weren’t official, since at the time, Konami didn’t own the Card Game. But one of them was the Blue Eyes white dragon, and after Konami launched their Card Game, they kept the artwork and even convinced Studio Gallop to use it in the anime.

Since I love cyberpunk aesthetics and the bike has an Akira-esque shape, I:P Masquaerena alt art is my fav of any of the alt arts

The earthglobe is one of my absolute favourites. Was it a promo? It was only available as usch in sweden when I was a kid atleast. Felt so special for having it.

I agree with #1, but #8 and #6 should've been #2 and #3 imo. I love the second art design and I love the new manga art design. The new Manga art one especially since it combines what I love about the og art and the second art. I feel like the new manga art print is the true third Blue Eyes print we all deserve and should've had instead of those other two with the planet and tablet backgrounds. The rest, including the two third prints I just mentioned, though they do look cool, just feel like a fan made them at times. Don't know what it is or why. I just love the og print, second print, and new manga art print more. The classic Blue Eyes charm is powerful and quite strong within all three of those prints imo. Blue Eyes actually looks like the Blue Eyes I know and love in those prints.

Agreed no one is talking about how amazing #8 is 😭. Its super underrated

The problem I notice with a lot of ygo cards is that they tend to have a monster with the same background color... Blue on blue, etc.. The better artwork lets you see the monster properly imo

I’ll always remember the Christmas I got a Kaiba starter deck and Legend of Blue Eyes tin. Came away with two BEWDs and a Left Leg of Exodia (unfortunately never found any other pieces). Good times.

I agree with the original card art being number 1 I have three of them and limited editions to😊

It's pure nostalgia that keeps Starter Deck Kaiba Blue-Eyes at number one for me. Without it, Dark Side of Dimensions is my number one. Honestly, this list is pretty much 1:1 to how I would rank them.

The Blue eyes in Space is a reference to the Episode where the Dragon destroyed the satellitecanon and his way to evolve to galaxyeyes.

I never knew where that first JUMP promo blue eyes was from until just now. My mom came home one day and handed it to me 21 years ago. I thought it was cool as hell, but a kid I went to daycare with asked to see it, them immediately ran into the bathroom and claimed he flushed it down the toilet (he kept it). I always had the mental image of the blue eyes shooting the beam, but never saw it again when I tried looking for it. Larry hitting me with even more cringe nostalgia as I flash back to every time my cards got stolen and how every time it happened, it was the ones worth money or sentiment. All my Master Collection 1 and 2 cards stolen from my backpack in 3rd grade... *sighs in bad childhood decision-making skills*

The wing in the background always makes the original blue eyes seem like it has a gigantic head

Solid list, I’d personally move some around but that’s why these lists are fun. Yeah I never really noticed that about the planet artwork, Blue eyes being bigger now stands out to me (I love it still)

i just ordered the manga art blue eyes bc it’s so freakin adorable looking and needed to have it. the only one i think i’m missing is the one where he’s on top of the skyscraper

The one on the castle is my favorite cuz it resizes it to be a dragon that hangs around a castle. And like i imagine the dark magician or the dark sags living in that thing worrying about the absolutely fucking huge dragon above him.

Technically there is a 9th blue eyes artwork based on Kazuki Takahashis drawing he did for the Jump Ryu Magazin and the card is included in it. Brilliant illustration with both Kaiba and the Blue Eyes on it.

That og blue eyes is just fun to stare at that and og dark magician or Neos og red eyes summoned skull too

I wonder what has become of my old blues eyes cards. I had them in 2002 and when I got a bit older I gave my deck to my neighbor. Now that they’re worth thousands I regret my decision 😩

I wish it was more consistent between the different cards. Some have more spikes, some have more body segment things, it’s almost like looking at different species of Blue-Eyes

#5 is drawn by Takahashi and deserves a higher place.

The blue eyes white dragon is my favorite dragon monster card especially the number one you ranked your first and second one I have multiple copies of the last two Blue eyes white dragons.

I like the blue eyes in space, its a good reference to when kaiba faced lector and it attacked its satellite cannon.

I remember liking the yugi deck more because it has summoned skull that only needed one sacrifice, and the dark sword thing that made its attack 3200....im probably remembering it wrong but oh well

The OG starter deck Kaiba artwork is the only artwork I’ll play with in my blue eyes decks lol. Same with the OG Dark Magician from Yugi’s deck. I’m okay with the LOB artwork and most of the others but I gotta have that Kaiba deck look if I’m playing the deck lol

Even though so many blue eyes cards are cool looking you just can't beat the original it just has that classic feel like you just unpack a really rare card feel
