@@0bsessed_Mess most people have it last. its just a bit slow and lethargic sounding compared to the other songs on the album. if it had tyler emotionally and impactfully screaming/shouting louder than normal a bit, sorta like 'goner' vibes, i think people would like it more but its just a bit low sounding.

“I don’t relate to overcompensate” perhaps, but imo it’s easy to relate so hard to the bit that’s like “days feel like the perfect length I don’t need them anymore longer but for goodness sake do the years feel way to short for me soul corazon”. Time goes by so fast, achievements become old and children grow up in a blink, yet in the moment the days don’t feel like they are short or anything.

Hi friend! 2nd time commenter here. Just wanted to let you know that you're not alone. I ended a nearly/just over 8 year relationship right before Clancy came out. Long time TOP fan, 1st time lore sleuther, my dumb ass thought I'd try watching the TOP videos in order on the night I did ended it (before I did it) to understand the "story of the lore." I'm sure you can imagine how it went. It didn't. I was a few IPAs deep, basically past the point of no return as in, I'd made up my mind about what I wanted to do that night. I'm trying to imagine what today would be like had I perhaps did a search for "twenty one pilots lore" and perhaps discovered you, or Keons or Stolen Potential that Friday, 4/6/24 that will go down in history... Maybe I'd be distracted for a few weeks, months and ended up depressed again when the excitement wore off. Maybe not. Who knows? In my situation, turns out we both saw it coming and are still close. It didn't culminate with a huge fight or disagreement. But that doesn't make me feel like any less of a piece of shit. It was def moving in together that did it for me. Now I'm a 40 year old who works from home and doesn't know how to online date, and personally am fine with that. Anyway, I'm rambling. Just know you are not alone. I'm so grateful I've found your channel and have fallen down the rabbit hole that is Dema lore. Thank you for letting me rant and even reading this if you choose to do so. 13- The Craving Both Versions (7.5) While this is the lowest rated song I still think it’s absolutely beautiful although my only problem is I don’t relate to it at all. I’ve never been in a relationship that’s lasted more than even a month so this doesn’t really do much for me 12- Oldies Station (7.7) This is basically the same case as The Craving as I think the song does sound good but I don’t relate to it as much because I’m a teen, I’m still going through my child years. But I could see this song easily becoming one of my favorites when I get older. 11- Midwest Indigo (8.5) Okay so this might be a bit unfair since this is the only song that I haven’t really checked out the lyrics yet, although still this song sounds amazing and drums are just as good. 10- Paladin Strait (8.6) I was definitely not expecting how much calmer this song was but it doesn’t change the fact this song is still really good. “Here’s my chance time to take it. Can’t be sure that I’ll make it. Even though I’m past the point of no return.” It’s such an amazing line that hits for me. (The birds being so long definitely suck tho) 9- Snap Back (8.8) Am I the only one that thought he said “If I’m going to snap next” and not “If I’m going to snap necks”? But anyways, this songs does have some really good meaningful lyrics but I don’t really like Tyler’s voice in this although I am getting more and more used to it. 8- Lavish (9) This song is just a vibe. I love how it’s just so different and like Justin said, this song is a big f you to the music industry. And while I didn’t include it with the rankings, I just gotta mention the music video and is it a hot take to say this is there best music video ever. 7- Backslide (9.2) The whole meaning of this song with not wanting to return to and regretting past actions really hits home for me. I do wish the song was longer than 3 minutes and the beginning just feels off. 6- Next Semester (9.3) I absolutely love the punk rock vibe of this song and the drums go crazy and the “Can you die of anxiousness? I don’t want to be here, I don’t want to be here.” Is an amazing line. 5- ATROFD (9.5) How did they make a song about checking in on your friends sound so GOD DAMN CATCHY. Honestly I don’t have any negatives for this song which says a lot about the rest of the songs. 4- Vignette (9.6) “Swallowed by the vignette” This honestly describes what my life feels like so much. And the “No, not me, it’s for a friend. Denial” is also a line that I really wished I didn’t relate to it as much as I do. 3- Overcompensate (9.8) While normally what I look for most in a song is relatability, I’ll make an exception for this songs cause holy **** this is amazing. I’ve never vibed hard the delivery on the lyrics, the drums, just everything is so good. 2- Routines in the Night (10) I will be forever in Josh’s debt for convincing Tyler to keep this song on the album. “I’m testing the limits of what a mind can do”, “It’s tough to find good company”, “I’m still learning what this is”, all are lyrics that hit so close to home to the point where they are inside said home and have became family members. I didn’t even mention this songs is so damn catchy too. This and first place kept switching spots so many times although I think I gotta give first to… 1- Navigating (11) Where do I even start, the lyrics, the drums, the lore in the mv. First of all it being about figuring out your head and feeling disconnected from the things happening hits so hard for someone who has Autism. And the everybody leaves line, I’ve never cried to a song ever until then. And the drums are amazing, this is one of if not Josh’s best work in any of his songs. And speaking of Josh, he hasn’t been with Clancy at all this entire time, which completely took me by surprise. But that’s enough about me yapping, overall the score was 118.5/130 (Although that includes the 11/10 for Navigating) and an average score of 9.1. I absolutely love this album, it’s my favorite TOP album and one of my favorite albums ever. Have a good rest of your day and thank you for going through all of this crap it took me like an hour or more

At The Risk Of Feeling Dumb- wish verses were like 30 seconds longer :\\ 12. Routines in the night- mixed feeling, but I really like it! You can vibe to it 11. The craving (JV)- it's a simple acoustic song and I heard hundreds of them BUT it's still a good one and empotional 10. Crazy how so many people in the comments are putting Snap Back last😭that’s my first, with Next Semester, At the Risk, and Vignette at the top too

This album for me is so hard to rank because all songs are very close in quality and are masterpieces, but for me personally my number 1 fav is next semester. Next semester actually made me tear up at the end, with the oh woah oh’s u can hear the pain in Tyler’s voice but he telling us we get to move on from that pain and start fresh next semester. That and the ukulele at the end is like a heart warming hug to the ears. I’m surprise snap back is disliked it’s probably in my top 4.

I find it interesting people don’t like the craving. It’s beautiful but not only a love song to Jenna is great but is it because I feel it’s a gut punch directed at the SAI bashers. He put his passion and love into it and so many bombed it. I’m not one and I’m glad he wrote it and I hope you all felt it.

Josh's drums seem to b allot heavier in the mixes on this one, which is awesome. But my only complaint would be tooooo much synth and not enough tempo changes. Vessel and Blurry are still the true masterpieces. With self titled a close 3rd. And I'm positive that long term album sales will bear this out.

My number one depends on my mood. If I want to play loud music then it’s Next Semester or Overcompensate which are interchangeable. If I want introspection then it’s Snapback or Backslide which are also interchangeable. However, if I am honest, the track I find myself going back to without thinking is The Craving the singles version.

happy that im not alone in expecting midwest indigo to be a midwest emo song. i still like it tho

personally I got: 13. The Craving (Jenna's version) - It's great but I've listened to it like once since it came out 12. Snap Back - great meaning and stuff but sonically it's not my favourite 11. Midwest Indigo - fun song 10. Routines In The Night - it's a vibe but it's not song of the year or anything like some people said 9. At The Risk Of Feeling Dumb - not what I expected but it' great 8. Next Semester - took a while to grow on me but it's amazing 7. Backslide - great song 6. Navigating - slightly overrated but really good 5. Oldies Station - underrated 4. Lavish - absolute vibe 3. Paladin Strait - insanely underrated 2. Overcompensate - top tier banger 1. Vignette - just all around incredible

EXACTLY!!! THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING THIS WHOLE TIME!!! VIGNETTE REMINDS ME OF BITTERSWEET SYMPHONY!!! I still love Vignette tho

This album is actually just really hard to rank because of how different and amazing all of the songs are Other than both versions of The Craving, its just not a very good song

not ranking but rating: Overcompensate 7.5/10 Next Semester 9.5/10 Backslide 6/10 Midwest Indigo 7.5/10 Routines in the night 8.5/10 Vignette 6/10 The Craving 5/10 Lavish 3/10 Navigating 7/10 Snap Back 4/10 Oldies Station 6.5/10 ATROFD 5/10 Paladin Strait 8/10 if it was a shortened version. Im sorry I just didn’t agree with MANY of the musical choices in this album. but I do think next semester is possibly their greatest music.
