    The stepdeck trailer has a very low center of gravity and greatly reduces the risk of losing cargo and can even save your truck in places you normally couldnt make it but it gets caught on the ground.

    I agree with the Step-Deck at #1. A factor you seemed not to talk about though is stability. The Step-Deck being low and the widest of the saddle low flatbeds, it's actually quite stable. You can use this trailer with even tippier trucks and there is a good chance the trailer will stop you from rolling over. It's why I actually don't like the blue flatbed and sideboard. Those blue ones have no rolling resistance, if your truck goes over those blue trailers go over. But the Step-Deck actually does put up a fight to keep you upright. It's the main benefit of the 2 slot flatbed over the 2 slot sideboard as well. While the sideboard is easier to pull behind a truck, it flops around a lot and you need to be careful where you drive because it will tip over easily. Whereas the flatbed while more difficult to haul around, it's a lot more planted and stable and rarely rolls. I actually do use the 8-slot, I might not use a solo 8-slot as much now since I can do a Twin-Steer/FEMM combination + a ramped flatbed if needed. But still that's only 12 cargo. Especially back in Yokon 2 KOLOB's with 2 8-slots hauling 16 cargo was helpful in getting that mine done. But yeah in general I can get a 8-slot around maps, KOLOB's are good at MAKING them go places they may not normally want to go. lol Biggest issue I've ever had in going back to Michigan and trying to get one of those trailers around that tight turn on the Smithville Dam. Other than that I can manage the 8-slot in every other map in the game. I agree it's not the easiest, but I can do it.

    Right now, i’d say that my favourite is the side-board semi-trailer. Second is side-board trailer. Those side-boards have saved many of my loads from falling out in places where the flat trailers spill them to the ground.

    ik its far fetched but it would be nice if the devs would let us adjust the trailers to our liking, make the toolboxes and tanks usable. change tires for better ones, add ramps to the bigger trailers for hard mode players so they can transport all their vehicles instead of back and forth trips. id like to see some sort of storage for trailers like what we have for trucks so im not having to buy multiples for each map, just take the ones i have already bought

    they do sell for exactly the same as what you payed for them, so if you bought any coming into a map, you can sell them before leaving and suffer no net loss Same goes for trucks, though you want to sell the upgrades you applied and restore the trucks to stock before selling. Not entirely sure how the sale calculation works for trucks with upgrades attached.

    I think one thing you missed as a benefit of side board traielrs that might make them better. Is being able to unpack cargo and get thru really boggy areas or at risk of tipping over without them falling off. Because cargo weights less when unpacked. I hate this feature but its hard not to take advantage

  • @Nil2none

    Its funny you call it a "feature" instead if calling it what it really is..... cheating. Maybe it makes you feel better about yourself and all the missions you've basically cheated on to get past...😂 You hate the "feature" but just can't help yourself 😂😂😂😂 it's called cheesing the game. Or in simpler terms... Cheating. just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. I've personally never used the "feature" as you call it..... it's pretty simple to just not unpack your load in order to cheat in the game. But hey it's your game and your conscious. 👍😂

    There actually are two aspects where the flatbed trailer is better than the sideboard. First of all, if you roll your truck with the trailer, the flatbed, due to its high sides, has a chance to keep the cargo within itself so when you flip your truck back, you only need to repack, whereas the sideboard nearly guarantees the cargo will get dumped. The second thing is, the flatbed trailer is accessible by the forklift where as the sideboard is not, which is crucial when transporting those cabins for missions like the ones in Yukon.

  • @peterv8459

    @peterv8459

    you have some mistakes in your comment. you said "the flatbed, due to its high sides , has a chance to keep the cargo " but flatbed has not got high sides, only sideboard trailer has that. And you could load and unload cabins (or containers) with cranes, there is no need to use forklift 😂

    Backing any trailer is stupid in Snowrunner, the wheels don't track properly. To back a dolly trailer, you need to double counter steer. When backing, you have to actually back the dolly, not the trailer. You use the dolly like your truck and use it to steer the actual trailer. It is silly, but it can be done. Go slow, be mindful of truck-dolly angle, and take your time. It can be done.

    My top three go to trailers #1. Flatbed Semi #2. Sideboard Semi #3. Stepdeck Semi I will explain it in a different order tho. #2. Sideboard Semi Excellent for smaller sized cargo. It keeps them secure in the trailer if it starts to tip. Depending on the truck towing it, depends whether metal beams and concrete slabs will go in. They are very heavy in the trailer and it’s already a fairly heavy trailer as it stands. Depends on the truck and the route. #1. Flatbed Semi This trailer is very light to tow and its perfect for large and medium type ordinance. If i haul large ordinance, like the oversized cargo in the sideboard bed, it does the opposite effect of saving you by keeping the cargo in the bed. Once the trailer begins to tip and the cargo unpacks, it proceeds to push against the sideboard causing the full tip. Even if you winch to a tree, sometimes the container will win. Plus its a pain to load it back in as it hits the sideboards. The flatbed semi makes it easy to load and if you start to tip the cargo can unpack and slide off keeping you from falling with it. And all you have to do is load it back in and there’s no sideboards preventing. #3. Stepdeck This trailer maybe well sized, but it can be heavy for certain tractors. I use this one most for the oversized cargo. Its wider, heavier trailer helps keep it from tipping. And certain cargo it just looks better aesthetically. Overall i place the Flatbed Semi as my #1 because of how light it is. Any truck can pull it with ease. It’s small enough to not get caught on trees and it can be ideal in some situations when transporting medium cargo contents.

    Wide semi trailers shine when you do manual loading. I used the 2 axle wide semi trailer to transport 12 metal beams in 1 trip, then do the same thing again with 24 wood planks. If you don't manual load, though, it is functionally pointless to run them over the standard sideboard or flatbed.

    В игре недостаточное разнообразие прицепов. Почему? Все полуприцепы под высокое седло - барахло, т.к. прицепы с низким седлом компактнее, но могут увезти не меньше. Низкие платформы застревают на холмах, плохо едут по грязи, габаритные и просто тяжелые. Прицепы же использовать просто некомфортно, из-за сложностей с маневрированием и большим тяговым сопротивлением. Отдельно хочу отметить недостаточную функциональность: в грузовых трейлерах нет ни запаса топлива, ни запчастей, ни колес, хотя места и емкостей для запасов более чем достаточно. И почему не бывает прицепного крана? Почему борта не раскладываются при погрузке? Почему, наконец, нельзя прицепить прицеп к другому прицепу или полуприцепу?

    The best trailers are those large trailers using high saddle with 5-6 spaces. The sideboard of flatbed trailers of low saddle are horrible. That Gooseneck trailer is the worst of all and it gets stuck in everything. I use Western Star Twinsteer or FEMM 37-AT because they have 4 slots and that helps a lot. When i need a lot of cargo i can winch another truck instead of a trailer. I only use trailers for a piece of cargo superior to 4 slots. In my opinion and personal experience with Snowrunner all the problems i can have with an unstable truck as WST or articulated FEMM can't be compared to the nightmare trailers are.
