Yeah, but at any moment, a woman might decide to eyeshadow, I'm 52, and I didn't get into wearing eyeshadow, full-time until this year!

I love how you took each palette and explained the reasoning for your ranking, rather than just “here’s my top ten” out of the 70. Thank you! 😍🤤😣😮🙌🏼

Omg sometimes I get overwhelmed with my twenty palettes, and you tried SEVENTY in just 6 months! You are palette goddess! My favorite palette of the year... Ok, top three: Club Nebula, Safari Raine and Pumpkin spice👍❤😞👀💕

To say I enjoyed this is an understatement.

The Urban Decay Wild West palette really catfished me. The packaging was so pretty but the actual shadows were not on par with the exterior. Used it once and then sold it on Poshmark 🥴😝

I think Urban Decay is playing with formulas and effects. We're all expecting the same kind of formula of the original Naked palette (of course in a better quality as eyeshadow formulas have evolved so much since the Naked palette), and they don't really give a true description of whatever new look they're trying to go for. I think that's why so many people hated the Ultra Violate palette, because it is for more cyberpunk/Euphoria looks that's why the shadows are so faint on their own, but blended together it's one of the best irridecent formulas I've played with. The Wild West palette was supposed to be a more Day to Night grungy palette for those going to like Stage Coach.

I feel like fire and ice from nomad is gonna be high up there, and flower punk. …the nomad one was early this year right…. It’s crazy how much makeup comes out!

I’m in love with Flower Punk as well. I created a look using all the shades one time, and it turned out amazing. Club Nebula is right behind too. I just got the mini Chinchilla palette from Sigil Inspired and I’m obsessed. The tones are so pretty and I’m impressed with the formula.

My favorite palette release this year is the Club Nebula. You’re absolutely right, she killed it! ❤️😩😁💋😣

I think I’ve gotten to a good point in my makeup collection. I feel good with the eyeshadow palettes I have. I like the textures and color choices I have. I enjoy all of them. I like to take a palette a week and really focus and explore that one. Seeing your video made me want to get a couple of things, though. Mainly that pastel one with the corresponding mattes and and shimmers. I don’t have a lot of pastels and that one would fill in the void nicely. And the High Tides one. I love dark green, blue, teal mattes paired with bright shimmers. So both of those.

I think a lot of my palettes fell in the same spot. I don't have anywhere near the amount of 70 palettes, but even so the ones that I don't have fell in the same spots. It's crazy to think we're already 7/12 months in and these are mostly palettes released this year! I'm over the monochromatic as well, I feel at this point to get a nonmono look you have to play between 3 palettes and I just don't have the time for that as often as I would like. I think that's why the Flower Punk palette has been one of my favorites this year too, because I can do grungy, soft, and colourful looks with ease. I appreciate the top down view. Not that I don't love your background and you, but I think the top down focuses on the product specifically so as you're sharing your thoughts we the viewer can see what you're talking about. Especially when you were talking about how textures and tones play.

Wow 70! That's epic and you are so deserving as you kill it with your content! Club Nebula is definitely my favorite that I've tried followed by Alien Fairy Frolic! That one took me by surprise how much I love it. Now I am just enamored with what Kaleidos and Alien release and I'm so glad most of their launches seem to be permanent. Especially Flower Punk I might have to grab that one in the future 😉

Surprisingly my favourites are all collabs... Your palette, Angies palette and Theresa is Dead. Also i have a love/hate relationship with Odens eye Norn palette. I HATE the formula of the shimmers, and you have to work your ass of for them, but every look turns out stunning. And the colour is so easy

This was really interesting to see! Only a couple palettes surprised me, but they’re all ones I haven’t been able to try anything from the brand yet (mainly Lethal) so maybe if I’d played with them more, I would have felt the same way! I have to agree that the Club Nebula palette is definitely up there for me along with my It’s Freaking Bats! 😊 The only thing I’ve bought from Colourpop this year is the High Tide palette (and a couple eyeliners; I liked the Fine Feathered - was that the name? the purple/pink one - palette too, but I already have the Bye Bye Birdie and the colors are VERY similar). Even my husband has noticed how much I’m not liking Colourpop so far this year, lol. But it’s ok cuz I’ve been trying to be really low-buy recently, so not having a lot to tempt me isn’t a bad thing! Thanks for your dedication in making this longer video, it was really interesting!! 😊💖❤️😂🎉

Whoa I actually was surprised by your number 1 😂 Somehow I missed how much you loved that one. I’ve almost bought that one a few times, it looks super yummy. My fave of this year is by far the club nebula palette. I’m obsessed with it. 💀🤣😍😱😵‍💫

At the top of my fave palette list this year are from Adept Cosmetics! Their Plain Jane palette (yes, I know released tail end of 2020, but I didn't receive it until a few months ago) made a believer of me. Their Kodanne palette didn't disappoint and it kept Adept at the top of my brand list, and have the Ninhydrin palette on pre-order. Anyone wondering about them, if you see a color story that speaks to you, definitely give it a try, the quality is fabulous!

I recently got so many new palettes for my birthday that I haven't tried yet so idek what my 2021 favs are yet I'm most excited to try Sydney Grace on the horizon & the CP hello kitty quads...but I also got the BH Paris one and it looks so pretty. I also haven't had a chance to try the adept palettes 😵‍💫 (these are all ones I own but only got this month) ones I *have* tried and keep picking up are the 2 new menagerie palettes- flight club & serenity ALSO nomad fire & ice! I adore that palette i haven't tried Oden's Eye yet but I highly suspect my first order will include the Norns palette (but...later in the year, after I've had a chance to love the new things I got!)

Your makeup knowledge is incredible. I barely remember if I like or don't like a pallet and will keep buying the same stuff 🤣 I have no idea how you remember information about 70 pallets , and how they perform or what they are similar too.. I suppose this is just one of the reasons you are a youtuber and I am not. Haha. Seriously though, I appreciate your knowledge and hard work with researching and testing products. 😊

I've only tried three palettes this year lol, which I am perfectly happy with. But my top three would definitely be 1. The Oden's Eye Norns palette 2. It's Freaking Bats 3. Nomad Cosmetics Iceland palette. They'd all be almost tied though. Great brands, great color stories, awesome quality. Something I can go back to again and again. That Sam shade from your palette is HIGHLY underated. I love just throwing that all over my lid, it's such a weird grungy glossy color and I love it.

Some of my favorites that I purchased/got in /2021: -It’s Freaking Bats!! (I’ve worn this at least 3x a month since January) -Club Nebula (from Angelica Nyqvist) -Tiny Marvels (from Mel Thompson)

I hope you get the new Alter Ego palette!!! I was hoping that they would come out with one like that and even though I already have the stone cold Fox and that's taupe palette from colourpop, I really am not that big of a fan of the stone cold fox, for some reason I just can't get it to work that good for me, like the shades just don't blend very well so I've been thinking about selling it on mercari and then just getting the alter ego instead. But I would love to see what you think and any looks that you can come up with!

Cant believe I guessed correctly for Strawberry Dream and Club Nebula! I almost guessed You Beauty and Flower Punk and now I’m kicking myself lol I’m truly shocked Cat’s Breath wasn’t ranked higher, though! Wow!

Limoncello is jands down my fave palette of 2020. I can't quite explain why but its absolutely brilliant and perfect for day to day. I bought the Club Nebula but just find myself intimidated. I guess Limoncello is more approachable and I LOVE everything I make with it

I felt super intimidated by the Club Nebula palette too. I'm super new to really playing with eyeshadow, but what's really nice about this palette is it's so buildable. I found it easy to go in with the softest hand I could to work a colour up, and they blend so nicely! That more grey toned rockhopper, Naaru, and Samus are my three favorite shades to play with because they're not so drama like far right row. I hope that helps!

No one asked, but so far in this year my favourite has been club nebula; and even though I loooove the colour story in the flower punk one I’m slightly disappointed in the fact that the Peach soju looks like nothing on my lids (even when I applied a white base). Other than that, now I’m waiting to try some more, hoping to get my hands on the whalesong palette someday because I just know I’ll enjoy it a lot.

My favorite pallet is Vieve essential pallet, it is not as basic as it looks :) it is intense and can make the most beautiful smoky eye looks! ❤️♥️😂😍😊

The flower punk was my first and so far only pallet from that brand I missed on the Angelica Collab but I have most of the Colourpop and I agree the flower punk is a fave and the Mary Jane is gorgeous I have it and haven’t even touched it yet ugh. 💚🐶🤷‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️🖕🏻

I think this year has been more about face products, particularly cream cheek products in makeup. I have bought quite a few palettes, but somehow eyeshadow has not been getting me excited compared to last year. 🤔 I think if I would have to choose, I liked my Colouropop pastel nine-pans in the spring and Natasha Denona Bronze palette for neutral looks from the first half of this year. These are new palettes in my collection bc palette releases this year, like I said have not been that exciting. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Honestly the pressed glitters are what stopped me getting the animal crossing palettes (although I might get the purple one!). I dont dislike pressed glitters but I MUCH prefer ones with different sized particles in them. I feel like I can tap those on a look and it looks "blended" or something (I can't really explain?!) but the ones that are all the same size look like just a...spot of glitter lol.

regarding the alter ego luster palette - I am glad they decided to go and try to dupe a Pat McGrath palette, which is cool, but of all the palettes to dupe, why this one? The color story is all over the place and I find myself skipping over this palette - which is a shame because the colors are really good!

Are you working on a collab with colourpop?

Those creamy shades in the Alter Ego palettes are dupes of the Natasha Denona cream to powder formula, they tried to dupe the formulas in her palettes as well as her color stories. I'm not a great fan of them either for the same reason as you.

I love a lot of things from them actually! I usually use at least one thing from them everytime I do my makeup. Just because they came out with things that made it in the bottom doesn’t mean I dislike the brand. One of them made it in the top 20! My fav neural palette of all time is from them as well. And a lot of their complexion products are my favorite. From what I understand, they’ve been doing better at making their products more inclusive to all people. I also like being able to showcase affordable makeup because a lot of people can’t afford high end! And as far as the sustainability factor, they make everything in house and do it in a way that they don’t have a ton of extras and waste (again, from what I understand.)
