The wrong combination of curses can turn an easy run into an almost impossible run. Which curses are you hoping never show up?

Critical Connoisseur, had a really good run on my way to Chaos 14 and grabbed it thinking, "Oh it won't be that bad cuz I crit all the time." and it absolutely destroyed my build. And Toothless I want even less.

Rogue lite easy. Overflow was a hated one for me for a while, but now i have reliable dmg in more than one element so its not too bad. I also hate nasty spill. Im running a cursed wit. Hitting these pools, and the associated dot dmg, is pretty much lethal for me

Toothless 1100%, I play on a SpellMancer build and my whole build is around crit dmg with my guns.

The floor is lava one and the elemental explosion on enemy death one. I got both of those on Chaos chamber 16 and had the dragon lord as the final boss. Tiny arena + endless mob fodder + either of those curses = nightmare.

Me and my friend experienced bugs with elemental overflow enemies were immune to everything but corrosion and were taking reduced corrosion damage.

Little side note on Magma Breach: avoid it, if you play the Graveborn and use the Dark Pulse as your action skill, as you get that puddle almost every time you activate it. And considering with how deay DoTs are, and your health being low from your action skill, you are done faster than a steak under a rocket exhaust.

I can answer why the ward thing probably works. They probably have the increase to ward at the front end of the equation, so its dipping into every perk and percentage increase you have from your tree and items.

I had "Toothless" and "nullify" against one of the "secret" raid bosses and I can say I spent 2 lives and a good 30-50 minutes killing it because I ran out of ammo and mostly had fire and frost weapons (I was in chaos 2 tho)

The Trust in Magic seems to add that extra ward into the base which makes the rest of your bonuses to ward kick in to increase it even further.

Had "Stay Back", "Elemental Overflow", and "Toothless" in one run😰. Had "Rogue Lite and Toothless" in one other as well.

Trust in magic seems to go into base ward before the talent modifiers like buffmister adds base spell damage to base gun damage so millage may vary

For everything that's gone wrong with wonderlands, this was a pretty cool way of dealing with negative multipliers. M10 in bl3 could be such a pain for certain builds. Thank crap for that M11 I guess 😅

M10 was easy for me.

So glad they reworked how these mayhem style perks work. It was such a pain in 3 to get the best of the modifiers without destroying a build. Pro tip: cryo facepuncher amara easily outweighed all of the perks.. OP deadly.

Frozen vengeance is definitely one of the most annoying I recall going into save your soul a lot of times and not being able to destroy it as my bullets literally phase right through it and it not take damage.

I had the same thing with the bernadette Buffbuddies ... took me ages to notice the little cubes

I've cleared 2 Rogue Lite solo runs, but the hardest one was a Chaos 35 where I fought Gloopagoth(or however you spell it..). However, since I had the mushroom companion, that 2-second animation window was usually enough time for him to get to me and start reviving. Changed my build though... so I tend to avoid the curse now.

For my build the worst one is elemental overflow. The graveborn skill that makes pets do added dark damage is bugged with that. What happens is if it chooses dark damage it will make all the enemies immune to all of the companion damage. I will actually sometimes choose rogue lite over some other options because it really isn't a risk since I hardly ever die. Pretty much the only one that has ever caused me to fail a chaos run is elemental overflow if the boss got immune to dark magic. Even then my build could actually still fight through it but I once did it and the boss fight took almost half an hour.

Out, Damned DOT is one of the worst curses if you play as a status build. For example, I play as Stabbo-Zerker and run close to the enemy (higher damage and frost efficiency thanks to a Brr-Skill) activate from the shaddows, switch to my live-wire (prepared it to have only one bullet left in the magazine) and start punching everything and everyone in the face :D Thanks to Stabbo-skills every critical i make while doing this........which is every hit thanks to the stabbo ability..........will give the enemy a random elemental DOT. I combined it with contaigion so enemies nearby will have a chance also to get hit with status damage or the main enemy will get another DOT. You need a little bit of luck so that enough of the chance-based effects will activate, but if you just punch enough it will increase the chance that DOTs will be put on the enemy. If your Status Damage is over 100% in addition to all that (should be not that hard) you can almost do steadily increasing damage on an enemy and therefore even Bosses on chaol lv 35 will melt in fear of your might :D But if you choose Out, Damned DOT in your run, you basically killed your build and just have to count on your weapons.......which aren't very buffed, since you focus on melee in the first place ^^

I had spectral vengeance and frozen vengeance in one run and beat the run. It is my most proud wonderlands moment

The nasty spill curse is kinda useful in the obelisk chaos rooms because if you have a alot of enemies spawned and you kill like 2 that will usually set off a chain reaction that will end with the Encounter clear before you see the boss

Agreed, Idk why it's not mentioned in the video that Nasty Spill effects enemies to. I take it on purpose just to speed things up.

I personally really enjoy rouge lite but it definitely has to do with my playstyle, I run a build where only ever shoot to drain my mag for tediore chucks and am constantly spamming two different spells and fully regening my health and ward from graveborn and spellshot. In my opinion the worst by fair is elemental overflow as my only source of damage outside of mobbing is dark magic

i actually thought the rouge lite effect is a bug, thanks for letting me know.

Without watching I can say from my own experience that if you're gonna run Clawbringer, avoid the ever living christ out of Elemental Overflow.

*NEVER* pick Spectral Vengeance. There is a glitch with it where if you get ghost-booped immediately after a Death Save you will go right back into SYS and be unable to Death Save until your SYS timer ends and you die.

The 50% to ward works great with the skill that takes half of the ward, and gives 150% of it to health....I've had some big numbers

The rogue lite, one life challenge will be ridiculous.

I’ve noticed Atleast on my PlayStation that the frost buddies just sometimes ignore bullets and sometimes melee attacks, it’s not an immunity thing the damage just doesn’t register. I’d steer away from this one regardless unless you get toothless with it

Nasty spill is awesome, it melts enemies aswell.

You forgot to mention, the positive side of Nasty Spill is that enemies get damaged by it too. I ALWAYS take it when it's an option for exactly that reason. I run a Spellshot/Graveborn with a focus on immediate damage, healing, and keeping a distance, with a chaotic multi-charge channeled Cloudburst Arc Torrent, a Buffmeister, a Liquid Cooling, and a Skulldugger AR that fires magic missiles. Which, they NEED to add a legendary one like that, fuck the Imp. Same goes for Elemental Overflow, enemies are damaged by it, and also unless they're infused with dark magic, Buffmeister lets you get around the immunity and then some. And Toothless isn't hard for me AT ALL lol, my spells CONSTANTLY crit and my guns almost always, so while they deal 75% less damage per crit, they crit so goddamn always that it doesn't...matter lol And like...I was critting constantly with spells well before I started putting points into DEX, when I had NEGATIVE crit chance from hero points, because I just had so MUCH from gear and skills. I also had negative crit DAMAGE from hero points, but had a bunch from gear and skills.

Will healing vengeance like, fully heal a boss also?? May be a dumb question, but, i don't wanna waste the run to find out. 🤷

I hate the frostbuddy curse. I tend to slide quite a bit to maintain maximum moevement speed and when you are under the slow effect you can not slide on flat ground.

As a melee build, stay back, elemental overflow, searing tether, rogue lite, spectral vengeance, and pool party all murder my runs. Just one of those, no matter what else i have, will ruin any chance of completion

Trust in Magic is SUPER broken with Brr-zerker's reserve half ward for 150% of that as health skill. My 4700 ward, 11k hp brr-zerker gets like 10k ward and 23k hp with JUST that "curse" :D

I've been using trust in magic with the brr zerker armor that sets your hp to 1 and it's just free real estate. My Clawzerker build has never felt stronger.

It's just as fun with the brr skill that gives hp for ward because it ends up making your hp AND ward chunkier

Add to base number then multipliers?

Sporewardens shroom buddy pretty much negates a lot of curses seeing as how you can down fairly often and rely on him to revive you. Definitely avoid toothless as a stabbo and rogue lite in general.

Aren't those the same as the Mayhem Modifiers from Borderlands 3?

Getting rogue lite, tethers and the specters is the worst combo you can get. At this point you should restart your run unless you have only dark magic spell and gear

The BG music in your vid is a bit loud, overpowers what you're trying to explain

I've grinded this game super hard. I miss Borderlands.... This game is not terrible. The spell addition is good but really not deep as most of them are not viable late game. It seems you go full spell dmg and run the big hitters or you use them as a proc. I think they could have added this mechanic as a option as a tech instead of a grenade. I'm not really feeling the skill trees. They seem like watered down B3 perks. I dunno. I'm really hoping the DLC is as good as B3 was. If not I think I will just go back to B3. This game really has made me miss that game....

Elemental overflow is the worst thing imo had it so many time when a boss has been immune to frost

Rogue lite is so good just dont die and have a thing that heals you all the time easy and p.s good for forming Zomboss for unlimited gems.

Really there's only a couple of them that I absolutely can't stand. Bulwark buddies, stay back, and toothless are probably my least favorite.

Frozen vengeance sucked so bad I don’t have a companion build when I would complete a run nd get blindsided by the damn orb from behind tht I didn’t even kno was there then put into save your soul to die when the run was already completed ugggghhh! Also it would seem like bullets would go through them as well and wouldn’t register damage

Rogue Lite + Nasty Spill is unplayable. 100% of the floor is death and there is no fight for you life.

I love the Rogue lite curse! I really wish the sweet peeps at Gearbox can come up with a piece of gear like Bloodletter Class mod of Moze from BL3 that heals you. Ever since I got that class mod and tried Rogue lite modifier, I have not tried any othere build for Moze lol Thanks for this list SGZ!

If you have a Grave-Warden Companion build focusing on Dark Magic with the armor that changes all companion Damage to Dark magic ABSOLUTELY AND I MEAN ABSOLUTELY AVOID ELEMENTAL OVERFLOW

They are all on the "get it out of the game" rank tbh
