Honestly I think it proves the point of the movie, it’s sad and even though Ryan Gosling killed it as Ken, it really does show how patriarchy is still heavily praised and valued in our current society

@@august-bl1jh he got a netflix special and opened it with a punching down joke about DV, and when people brought it up to him he called them all “special needs” in his story (which imo is the equivalent of just saying the r slur) and THEN started getting into random fights with people who aren’t even talking about him or saying very lighthearted stuff. Like there’s this little kid on tiktok who’s obsessed with planets and matt made a joke about jupiter having rings and the kid was like “actually saturn is the one that has rings” and then Matt commented demeaning his MOTHER saying she buys his xmeas presents with only fans money and that santa claus isn’t real. he also went on jordan petersons podcast. OH and then his ex gf spoke out about how he publicly degraded how her vagina looks on a podcast. So yeah essentially he had a really unfunny DV joke that 12 year old middle school boys say all the time and then just kinda went off the deep end getting offended at any posts made about him and throwing a temper tantrum online. If you want a more in depth explanation i recommend the Do We Know Them podcast, they have the videos & receipts that i can’t include in a comment

It is more about how the challenge didn’t accommodate to disabled people when they should’ve. Also why should a disable person not be able to do something that anyone else can do; it is up to the people running the show to accommodate them.

Of the scandals on this list involving individuals (not the strikes) I pretty much only knew about Ariana and Ethan, and Rachel Zegler. I think what made Ariana and Ethan such a moment is the way it brought what is essentially a quintessential theatre kid showmance scandal into the mainstream media. The theatre girlies were GAGGED by the Spongebob the musical guy messing around with Ariana, and Ariana's stardom made it everyone else's business. It being on the set of Wicked only makes it more iconic for people in the theatre circle. That movie has been rumored and never actually gone through with for AT LEAST a decade. And WOW I would rate the Rachel Zegler hate train so differently as a person in theatre-related circles of the internet. I could not ESCAPE it because Rachel was, prior to Snow White, in the 2021 adaptation of West Side Story, and thus very big in my corner of the internet.

As a Hunger Games fan, watching trailers and promotion for the new movie before it came out was crazy because half of the comments were just talking shit about her and calling her a horrible person. I wasn’t around for the initial controversy so maybe I missed something but I still can’t find a thing she said that warranted the way people were treating her 😭. I think a lot of it was because of right-wing pundits riling up their base because some of the comments I saw against her were angry that she called out Gina Carano’s transphobia and I also saw the union vid of her on an anti-woke twitter page.

yeah I'm a theatre kid too so these were the biggest scandals for me too. The rachel stuff is so dumb bcuz I swear the ppl that were attacking her don't even care or like snow white much either...they just found something new to be mad about. AND i think it's so weird when people get mad at the actors for casting decisions they didnt make!

But we need to acknowledge that Snow White is something we grew up with and love(d), unlike the kissing booth for which we can agree it wasn’t the best series lol. 19:56 tbh not watching the original is why you think the reboot is good. As someone who watched and LOVED the original, I had to consciously go into watching this new series with an open mind but was immediately and constantly bombarded with callbacks to the first series while doing/introducing things that made no sense for the callbacks they were making, so it felt like the new series never truly got a chance to make its own identity where a vehicle/IP like Gossip Girl really allows you to. The characters were incredibly shallow, and not as a character trait but as they didn’t explore them as thoroughly as they did in the first series. That was the critical flaw for this series imo because GG is all about character development. If you don’t care about the characters then you’re never going to care when they get taken down or exposed by GG/whoever is crafting a scheme. … also the teachers being the new GG was super weird and sketchy.
