Love your show, but there is something special about the team. Listening to you makes me lose hope more than feeling excited about the series.

I think what you wrote sounds a little silly, but in a way you are right. The stats do not tell the entire story. Not everything can be measured or accounted for by us. Some things that may be happening, we may not even know are happening or that we need to look at more closely. Some things only make sense based on an eye test or gut feeling. That's usually because we don't know what that something is, but we know that there is something. Also, stats only tell you what happened or is happening, but they don't tell you the why. We make up the why with a narrative: I think it's because Shesterkin... or it's because Carolina took too many perimeter shots... If you look at just the shots and puck possession, Carolina should have dominated the series. If you look at scoring chances and high danger chances, you realize it is much closer. You then look at Shesterkin and Ranger PP and PK and now you get a fuller picture of why the Rangers might get some wins that they "shouldn't." But then there are the intangibles that aren't being measured that are happening constantly. Little decisions and plays that make a difference. For example, Zibanejad decides to throw the puck at Andersen's left skate from a bad angle. It's a nothing play. Kreider comes in and pokes at it. It's a goal. It's on Andersen for not covering it up or protecting the goal better. But it is also on Zibanejad and Kreider for making those decisions and plays. It is also about being opportunistic at the right moments, being smart and clever, making some small, but good coaching adjustments and other intangibles. And some of those things are not being measured, but they are being done consistently by the Rangers. The come from behind and one-goal wins. Because those little things can make a huge difference. And that is something the Rangers have done all year and that is definitely part of their game. And this is why they are where they are. The odds are going to be based on the obvious stats, but will ignore those little timely things the Rangers do so well. And this is why the Rangers are in the position they are in and why they can do it again.

Be shocked that we get past the Panthers. Rangers have had a good season, no doubt, but analytics and eye test tells me there are definitely an underdog in this series and if they get to the finals. Edmonton the only team I am confident in beating. The Panthers and Stars are more balanced top to bottom and play a physical style that the Rangers can't match. Just my 2cents, but my expectations were low coming in, so I wouldn't be shocked if this is where it ends for this team. We'll see.

Florida is a great team but the Rangers are very close in talent. The difference will be Igor. I think he will raise his level even further. The team ran out of gas in 2022 playing all those OT games in previous series. Rangers have much more depth and rested this time around.

Hopefully we can put more rubber on net this series. Those 2 shot periods are brutal to watch.

I feel a lot of this series hinges upon whether Bobrosky stops the Ranger odd-man rushes, which there will be many as Florida forechecks and pinches D much like the Canes. That was the difference last series and will be again.

Let’s see how rangers respond while they will be getting hit nonstop .Both teams great offense ,Florida slightly better on def. Home ice advantage doesn’t matter ,I feel like cats play better on road ,Panthers in 7☝🏻

Rangers easier path? Really? Washington in the first round I get, weakest team that made but they had to go through basically the second seed in the conference in round 2. Carolina definitely better than Boston.

Carolina is better than Florida IMO. The Canes shut the Panthers out twice in the final two months of the season. And we can only beat whose in front of us. We got to play a weak Washington team because we were the BEST team in the league. 🎉

@@dumpybear8664 you could certainly make that argument, the books clearly thought that as well, but one of the gentleman said rangers had an easier path to ECF and my point was rangers had a more difficult round 2 series than Florida which made the rangers path more difficult in my opinion.

i am satisfied! they are not one of the best 2 teams in the east, so i am satisfied. i would even say that hey overachieved based on their overall talent. does not erase the truth that this core is not good enough to win a cup and needs to be changed.

I am with you. Analytics and the eye test tell me this will be Panthers in 6. The Rangers are to predicted on the power play and goalie being great to push them forward. They are not balanced and play a soft game that doesn't match up to the Panthers. Believe out of the four teams, the Stars and Panthers are better than the Rangers.
