I was at that game, I was in Scotland for a holiday with a mates family, they were Scottish and we lived in Oxford, I was use to watching Oxford Utd at the Manor Ground with maybe 15,000 max on a good day, never seen anything like it in my my life, even to this day, the blue disabled cars parked around the pitch, I also remember a Celtic fan running onto the pitch towards the Rangers fans and a cloud of bottles where launched at him, folk outside pissed out of their heads, absolutely great atmosphere, the spitting anger from the Rangers fans when Celtic scored at the end, I was 10 at the time....ironically I now live in Scotland, never really let on I wanted Celtic to win, I'd have been killed, I was in the Rangers end.

I also was at that game, we always stood in the enclosure next to the tunnel. There were regulars who stood there every couple of wks. If any was over the top with their language or ftp etc they were shouted down. A good mixture of guys and gals; regarding the game it was a great game, except for the score of course. But in Jimmy Johnstone, Scotland had a player who would have graced any club or country on the planet. He was genuinely from my experience, and we (my wife and I) followed the Gers home and away, was the only player who struck fear in our hearts every time he had the ball.... A true giant of the game. A very sad time for me was a few years after he retired from football, he passed us driving a builders van, in fact the back door flew open and he stopped to close it, we shouted kind words to this amazing footballer.

But there's something so brilliant watching these old highlights with the simplicity and flow of the game. Felt more entertaining, two teams with massive respect for each other on the pitch going end to end. Scottish football nowadays with every man behind the ball vs celtic or rangers is just fucking boring. Didnt think twice about it, told my dad and my mate what happened, he went nuts , my dad, just shook his head, dont worry about it son. They will get over it.

Blast from the past, amazing footage. Glasgow in another age, when it was still a huge industrial city. A very strong Celtic team. Murdoch, McNeil, Jinky, Kenny D, George Connolly, Bobby Lennox....Quality. They dont make players like that anymore. Magic. COYBIG
Give you this one dude . As a Rangers fan , it is so great to see the old Ibrox just as I remembered it as a wee boy .
What a good Celtic side that was. Even going in at half-time 2-1 down they looked unflustered and confident they could turn things around.
I was 9 years old and remember watching the highlights, loved Celtic ever since.
One of the best old firm games with a field of absolute legends. Jinky was a joy to behold 😉

No matter how good these sides were in their era, most modern teams would absolutely demolish them.
