Range Rover P38 # 088 - Fuel Injection Pump - Part 1 - Removal

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is the sequel to my FIP Top Gasket replacement. Please see video # 083 • Range Rover P38 # 083 ... if you want to know how to remove all the bits required to remove the fuel injection pump (FIP), which we'll do in this video. You'll need to remove the intake manifold to gain access to the pump.
You'll need a few speciality tools:
LRT-12-108 - Timing locking pin (flywheel)
LRT-12-117 - 17mm high pressure line removal tool
LRT-12-119 - Pump removal tool (pusher and sprocket holder)
17mm Allen key
Most of these tools came in the Laser Tools 4077 (Sealey VSE5538) kit which contains:
LRT-12-108 - Timing lock pin (flywheel)
LRT-12-112 - Camshaft position plate
LRT-12-114 - 2x tensioner pins
LRT-12-115 - Timing chain tensioner release
LRT-12-118 - Pump adjuster
LRT-12-119 - Pump remover
And a few parts are recommended:
STC2015 - Fulcum o-ring (cover over pump axle on tensioner)
STC2279 - Pump o-ring to timing cover
The next video in this sequel will be about replacing the seals to recondition the pump.

Great video. Great step by step instructions. I'm glad my latest fuel pump leak didn't need the pump to be removed. Time will tell though!! Well done.

Hi. Would be hard to say what the exact problem is when there is water damage. Make sure the fuse box is cleaned properly inside and out, and check the starter relay (and all other relays). I'd probably replace all relays and fuses to avoid any corrotion issues. Good luck, I hope you manage to get it working. PS! The wiring diagrams contain a lot of useful troubleshooting tips so you might want to check it out: drive.google.com/open?id=1DE1zkP5G42BWkh8QdGEIK4wlkSkLpqNC Thanks for wathcing!
