thanks for this one. i followed the steps, except the one - 'test before you put it back together' and of course it didn't work. pulled it all apart again and figured out the new cable i got was 1/8th" too long and not releasing fully. had to do a ghetto mod to make it work. yay

Thank you watching/subscribing. Yes I also did notice that some of these aftermarket cables tend to be just a bit longer causing issues with the latch.

Thanks, awesome video!! how do you remove the bolt/button on the end of the cable that snapped off the door handle but its still inside the cylinder? It didn't fall off on mine

Thank you for watching/subscribing. You should be able to pick the broken end out with a pick tool or a small needle nose pliers.

I replaced my cable with the exact part that was pretty straight forward thanx to your video but it’s not pulling the exterior door mechanism hard enough to open the door. Any thoughts

Hi, thank you for watching/subscribing. I do have a similar issue, mine does open the door but takes a little extra effort on the pull, but it was like that before the cable replacement. I have tried adjusting the door striker, lubricating all moving parts but no change. Now it makes me think this cable may have been replaced before & the issue maybe in the cable it self. There is no adjustment in the cable or the latch, only the door striker can be adjusted and I have done that. In your case, If it was fine before the cable replacement then I would not try to adjust anything. I would suggest checking to make sure the new cable is routed properly and not binding anywhere, also lubricating all moving parts and see if that helps. If not, contact the seller of the issue and possibly try another replacement part. Please let me know how it goes....thanks

Same problem with mine, the replacement cable is not exactly the same. I adjust where the lower cables plastic housing clipped into the holder. It wasn’t designed for this but at least me door opens

What if you are unable to open from inside? In a scenario whereby the battery is drained and the door handle wont work. How to open to fix?

Hi, thanks for watching. Battery has nothing to do with this, its's mechanical connection via cable(from the door handle to the door latch). Interior door handle has a cable just like the exterior and that can also break. Are you saying the doors are locked and locks will not operate because your battery is dead? (You can always climb out the passenger side or use the key from the outside or have jumper cable for power). I don't quite understand the scenario and what we are fixing?
