These Chinese testers are freakin insane, there was another video I saw all off road vehicles trying to climb this muddy 80 degrees incline and fell on top of its self, flipped it over and went at it again, these guys are for real when they say go off roading!!

This tells us very little scientifically. The surface deteriorates after every vehicle run so isn’t the same for the last car from the first. And it’s more about the skill of the driver carrying more momentum in that first corner to get through the quagmire midway through. All in all. Pointless.

Even though the surface deteriorates after ever car moves on you can look at the power delivery that's being applied because some SUV's just dont delivery on power to be fair e.g Mercedes

Your theory would be correct if the tyres used the same exact path & technique each time. It also requires the cars to be of the same weight, height & engine capacity.

The tank had bigger tires. All other cars had performance tires on.

In summary, off road focused SUVs with proper off road tyres all made it through, apart from the LR3 which was hindered by its street Tyres. Car based and performance crossovers with the exception of the Audi all failed to make it through. Surprising

They should have had the sane driver for all

They should have used a consistent grade of tyre with about the same off-road vs road balance as each other.

Apart of driving skills and vehicle. Tyres plays important role here. HT tyres wont work. At some extent AT does the job. But MT is must.

I'd say a poor driver. If the Range Rovers can do it, the Discovery should be able to do it - they are basically the same car. I have a Discovery and I'd get through there OK (especially after watching a couple of others). Pretty stupid even trying with things like the Hyundai & Honda and similar though - they don't belong on this type of track and have no chance of completing it.
