Range-Road 5026 first cut

Just finished setting this up right out of the box. The biggest issue we had was not greasing up the mounting bars and the track so we had to shake the rig to adjust the height of the blade. I’m sure that as soon as we add some grease she’ll slide up and down the piles nice and easy.
This was the first time we’ve operated a mill so the first cuts were just playing around. Great turnout with some beautiful cuts. We had zero issues with blade marks or uneven cuts.
I will say that my buddy Dan and I were painstakingly meticulous when leveling it out. So I think that solved a lot of issues before we had them.
Enjoy!

Ken your posts aren't lined up properly, if you look where the silver posts slide through the head unit they are probably rubbing, loosen the top mount bolts (leave the feet tight) and move the top over until the posts don't touch the blue slide boxes on the head unit. It should move smoothly up and down without grease. If that doesn't make sense or you don't know what I mean call us and we'll walk you through it.

You should not have to shake or push down on that mill to get it to go down, could be jamming if it un-level or the locking screws on the post that it rides up and down might not be loosened

On my 5036 the slide boxes are way loose on the posts so I inserted some shims to tighten up. Still don't need to shake it or grease it, maybe the track is not parallel? Keep tightening the assembly bolts until they stop moving. Yes, I have to tighten the T-bolts each cut. Making some cam levers for that.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that this mill is a woodland mills knockoff, and it barely works. These poor guys are cranking up and down on the torque handle to get the saw head to slide down. The gap and square seem off. But the enthusiasm is inspiring. Good job guys.

Got a mill on order, different brand. Had not heard of this brand before like yesterday. I'd have to give it a pass if I had seen it before even. The crank for height is too high, very un-ergonomic. I don't like the extra t-handle things to lock it in place, shouldn't need those if the head is stable and the height system is good. I can understand the use of the Predator engine, it's a cost thing, they can be decent engines if maintained well, and swapped out if needed. Overall, this just looks in line with a Harbor Freight offering, Hope it's doing well for yall. Any update?

was actually in talks to buy a 5036 on a trailer, but after seeing this video I'm out. Have never seen another mill where you have to tighten T handles to make sure carriage does not move and shaking it down to drop carriage is crazy even if not lubed up, unless something out of square. On to the next mill this ones not for us.
