Range Report: Tisas Regent BR9 (Browning Hi-Power Clone)
In this Range Report I shoot and review a very interesting Browning Hi-Power clone. This is the Regent BR9 by Tisas which is made in Turkey chambered in 9mm. When FN stopped making the Hi-Power these Turkish clones were the only ones available if you wanted a new one. They are true to the original design. Are they quality and well built? How are the triggers? This video documents my personal thoughts, opinions and experiences with this firearm. Yours may vary.

Good afternoon, Jason, yes, another Browning High power only by a different name. I have actually owned one as well. That is all I am going to say. MY previous comments cover everything. Cheers, love your channel.

I know you are not a fan of them even though it is a JMB design.

Back in the day, men had gloves on when they fired pistols. Lol

I have not seen a gold one!
All the guns have a beautiful finish. In agreement, about getting hammer bite; I wouldn't take the chance shooting it. Good going!

I have two high powers, and useful them in uniform… never even heard of „hammer bite“ until utube came along
I have a Browning HiPower in .40. It is heavier than the 9mm versions, but still has the hammer bite issue. I only rarely shoot it, and wear shooting gloves when I do. Shooting it without gloves results in blood on the pistol from the web of my hand. Which is a shame, because I love the .40 S&W cartridge for its extra power. I may just upgrade to a 10 mm pistol with better ergos. Thanks for showing this pistol.

You are very welcome. I am sorry you have the hammer bite issue too!
Nice video. 2 things. The rounded oval marking on the frame is a steel insert. It was originally a weak point in the early pistols. And there was another stainless steel hi power made though much more rare. It was a USA company called Baford Arms.

Jason you gave us everything but the price. How much is it?

I do not usually mention price as it dates the video as prices fluctuate over time.
Good day Jason. thank you for the review, im like you and dont like to be cut my firearm, its bad enough if one is standing in from of the muzzle. Also i dont buy firearms made in turkey due to business infringements, dont know why they are imported to the U.S.A.

Is it possible to have a larger beaver tail installed
@thetexasgunvault
Ай бұрын
Usually no as the beavertail is milled into the frame.

@@thetexasgunvault ok so (usually no) means yes but it is a extreme pain in the arss for a gun smith to do? Im not a machinist but just off the top of my head if I had a mill a lathe and all that stuff I would maybe cut into the frame removing the old beaver tail and cutting a larger high precision beaver tail with a special channel that matches the cut made on the gun and pin it in place or maybe weld and file I don't know but by the time a person has had all that done why not just buy a double stack 1911 in 9mm that already has a comfortable beaver tail
16:57 There you go, grabbing the mag as it ejects! Ugh!! Does this gun not eject mags on its own, like the Girsan? I know the Girsan clone has this issue. Such a turn off. I watched so much of this video just to see if you would address the mag eject issue with these clones, and I see nothing.

It is like a typical high power. You have to strip the mags.
