hello, I wanted to ask if you have had cases where even after a year after the operation the patient does not have flexion, I even had 2 manipulations under anesthesia and I still have no movement, I can flex passively (with great pain) but it is not active, always returns to the initial 100°, after the second manipulation there was a sharp pain in the ankle joint that extends to the entire fibula(sorry for my bad english)

Dragana, sorry to hear about your difficulties. On rare occasions I have had patients that had a great deal of difficulty getting and maintaining knee flexion. In some of those instances the patient just made scar tissue so quickly that the knee mobility was very limited. Unfortunately there is no quick cure. We often recommend getting a second opinion when you haven't gotten the outcome you want or expect. We wish you the best of luck with your knee and recovery.

Thanks for watching and for your comment. We did not include specific values for the measurement as we wanted to keep the focus on the proper landmarks. In general your flexion ROM can vary significantly dependent on the length of the limb, the amount of muscle bulk, the general mobility of the joint and the presence of any pathology. On average full flexion will be between 140 and 150 degrees.

It varies a great deal between patients but typically there is an expectation that the range of motion will be restored by the 6 to 8 weeks post op mark.
