Hogan just pointed out that I spelled furniture wrong on my envelope…how I miss that, I’ll never understand. So apologies if you noticed too 🤷🏼♀️

Futiture has character 😂
Hot water heater burst while we were out of town during the summer. New flooring, new wall and the biggest water bill imaginable

Oh no!!! Hopefully the homeowners insurance covered some???
I am so excited for you guys - It'll be a lot of work for sure, but what a dream AND you will be near your great friends to boot. It sounds like a great adventure that will keep you busy and motivated for YEARS :D That's good for development and overall life engagement/joy! I will be watching and cheering you on.

Thank you so much!!!
Biggest expense was replacing the subfloor & redoing our crawl space during COVID. We live in a very humid/wet area. The new build next to us has raised land so the water runs down into our yard. With redoing the subfloor, adding pumps, ventilation, & sealing it off completely, looking at almost $70k. 😖 Not sure if you have these envelopes elsewhere, but I'd highly recommend an emergency or construction buffer envelope for inspections, taxes (which increase once the house is done & appraised), random expenses, & the like. 💩

Thanks for watching!
I would lay them out like people do for the mini Mondays. It will save you flipping through the binder.

That’s a good idea!
Just a suggestion, if you are a dollar or 2 over an icon amount, just put in the exact amount and put the extra to the side in case you don't have enough in another category to complete the icon. But love this idea, and it's absolutely necessary to have those extra funds for unplanned emergencies. 💩💩

That’s a great idea!
I thought you were going to mention it when you paused halfway as that was the envelope you were on. Also….where was the music? Being alone with these 😊thoughts is never a good thing 😅😂😊💩when we moved in to our house 2020, we did new kitchen, added a bath, did first floor laundry, redid pantry, added a door to the deck, added an exterior door in our bedroom, redid electrical, redid basement stairs and added storage underneath and lots of yard work, planting and put up privacy fence. Redid original bath too.

Hahaha there WAS music but apparently I’m not aware of what is copy-write and what isn’t. Oops! I had to remove it. Next time I’ll do some more research before I post. Also, no. If he hadn’t mentioned it, I probably wouldn’t have noticed for a long time. Didn’t even catch it in editing.
Great video! You already know what my biggest expense is going to be...the one we're currently saving for. Ugh! But prior to that, I'd say two things...replacing our furnace for around $5-7k and then in our old house, replacing all the windows. We did it over several years so I don't remember what the total was, but probably $2-4k.

Yuck! Honestly the furnace is one I’m super scared of. But you’re a great example of how expensive the yard can be!
💩 washer broke had to get it fixed cheaper than buying new one.💜

Ugh that’s awful! Our started acting weird this year and I was convinced we’d have to either fix or replace. Then one day it was fine. So I’m holding out LOL
How exciting to build a new house!! I'm also on well and septic and grateful i haven't had to replace them, only maintain. My top 3 expenses so far are roof, furnace and hot water heater (which went out less than a month apart 😭)
@StrappedForCash

Nooooo!!! All 3 in the same year?!

@@StrappedForCash just the furnace and hot water heater went out. I'm saving money for the roof but I'm not sure how I'm gonna save $15,000 for it 😞
biggest expense was redoing all the pipes in our house a few months back. Was about 10k. W00t
