0:32 So I’ve actually seen this before. It’s possible her fire alarm has been triggered in the past by smoke rising from her stove. I’ve had it happen lots of times. The sound of the smoke alarm is very painful for dogs, so they will quickly learn that the smell of smoke means pain. My dog hides every time anything burns in the stove or oven. I feel terrible every time and it’s yet another reason to be careful in the kitchen

My cats recognize me in the mirror and know that it's a reflection. I thought maybe they can just hear me behind them but their reflection will look right at my face and then they'll turn around and meow at me.

You dont even have to hear the first part of daily dose of internet You just know it by heart

One of our dogs was afraid of (or just didn't like) the smell of smoke. Every time we lit the fireplace or my dad smoked his pipe (which he only did because he thought the dog's reaction was funny) the dog would run upstairs and hide. The same dog was also afraid of the sound the oven would make when something was sizzling. One time I put some meat in the oven to roast and at the same time put the dog's food bowl down next to the oven and a minute or two later the meat started sizzling and he got scared and ran upstairs. I had to coax him downstairs with cheese but he ran right back upstairs to hide and had to eat his dinner later. I'm not sure how one would acclimate the dogs to the cooking at this point. I was able to teach one dog a long time ago not to be afraid of thunder by cheering every time it happened, but in this case not only have the dogs already been convinced that there's something scary going on in the kitchen, but they each have each other reinforcing the idea. Each dog is seeing the other one cringing and thinking, "That dog is scared, I must be right about being scared."

I might not be a geographer, but it looks like a cool day, and the soil looked somewhat moist. Essentially, I dont think the soil is hot, dont worry.

Thanks, Daily Dose. I had an especially long Monday, and a simple 3-minute montage of random short videos is just what I needed.

the tuxedo video is truly iconic

That first one happened to me once, but fortunately it flew off the side of the road and nowhere near anyones' car. Pulled up to a stop light on an interstate, and my front right tire kept going while the rest of my car stopped. Turned out the dealership rebuilt the front of the car from scrap parts without notifying the Carfax after it had been in a front end collision.

Just love it how the baboon trying to enjoy his lunch and just casually move the tok-tokkie (beetle) aside 😂😂😂
